Hard to beat a good days fishing. It's been years since I fly fished, Not a lover of the earthy taste of inland fish although I've even ate pike, probably the best of all funny enough and even battered one up with loads of salt. Trout, Put on a plate and I cover completely with salt, top, bottom and sides yes cover completely so it's unrecognizable ) put cling film over and leave overnight in the fridge. The next day I take it out and wash the salt off and cook, little to no earth taste. I feel I invented this way of eating earthy fish Dave as no one ever taught me, the idea was I like sea fish and they live in salt water so my trout can hang out in the fridge overnight covered in the stuff lol.
The best way I like eating fish is on the beach cooking them after a days fishing or as in my Wild canoeing and camping vids from a Scottish freshwater loch over an open fire at a wild camp in middle of nowhere. I use to do a lot of scuba diving and spear fishing is also great fun and had picking crabs and lobsters too.
