Businesses create a UPS ticket even if they don't have the product especially at the end of the month to show the bank they have orders. I worked for a company in the 90's that did this to fool the bank and creditors. Hope you get it soon. That SS is coming along nicely!

Its just me i dont thank they look good with a camper topper on them but its whatever you like its your man. Ready to see it painted
First and foremost, the 82 is looking SHARP since the paint and decals! Those wheels on it make that car pop. Very nice job! I'm not really a fan of the topper, but that may change once you get the car finished. You're right, it is a unique made topper for Chevy and those specific years, and I sure don't remember many folks having them back in the day. Thanks for the video.

Love this series, just bought and 87 el Camino in October and am replacing the gas tank and just ordered a new steering column as the one it came with is super loose+ the turn signal lever is broken.

Things are moving forward nicely on the 78. Got some key parts in for it.
Scoop finally arrived! I bought a front fiberglass air dam for my old 73 van and had to wait for it to be made too. Things are taking longer to ship right now. It’s the holiday season.
The topper could come in real handy if you take the 82 on the Power Tour next year. You can keep stuff covered for the tour or even use it to sleep back there if you want to save some money. With hotels around $80-$100 a night, that would pay for some gas.

Putting a topper on an El Camino is basically making a 2 door wagon with no interior access to the bed. And you thought short bed pickup trucks were useless. Different Strokes for Different Folks. 😲

Camper top looks terrific. BTW, I have always been afraid to skim coat an entire panel. Always afraid that I would end up to with terrible waves.

Love the canopy topper and idea of it being included in the sale for the right price. Either way you will make some bucks off of it or as you said , paint it and keep it for yours.

As far as windshield sealant, I just watched a install guy say that has acetone and eats the paint and causes rust, and holds moisture. He was saying he used a product called CLR I guess it's urethane.
As far as the topper, I always thought that looked hideous. If I had to haul something I would use it.
I just passed up a rust free elcamino from FL 50k miles no rust, one shallow dent on the gate. $4900. It was a 1985 GMC Cabellero with a throttle body injection.
I probably should have bought to flip.

I drive my Nova at least 3 times a week. Everyone always say there’s not many left. I think there is but owners just never get them out of the garage.
The price sure was right on the topper and the styling on it looks better than most. I'd use it, I can't believe all the hail damage. Thats a lot of work but you always do it right keep it up.

Ah, sorry 'bout Ncky. She's a sweet pup. How did she lose her sight? I love dogs man. That Topper ya got is a steal at $250. I would for sure keep for myself if I had an ElCo. If only to use it once in awhile to either camp, or travel. I use a tonneau cover on my Tacoma, it locks, and added a locking latch for the tailgate. Nice when traveling to be able to lock stuff up in the bed.
She got in an accident and had to have her eyes removed.

Hey Lee, that topper is rare as hens teeth I remember a Ranchero that had one when I was a kid!!
When I was looking at the hood scoop I thought what about making a slit in the center back to the scoops body line and mould it into the factory metal body line. You would blend it into the factory hood line and make it sit flatter on the hood all with one slit. It would let the two sides that are up in the air lay flat on the hood itself. Two birds with one stone!! Also are you going to put it on with panel bond adhesive before you start glassing it in? That adhesive seems to help with long term cracking in the one I saw done with it before.
I really think it would work awesome and look nice that way and you would have let shaping to do with one slit in maybe a small pie shaped slit and a bit of rasp work. Just my two cents.
Poor Nicky I know you felt horrible that you forgot to move the black El Camino I could hear it in your voice brother, she will be ok she’s already overcome worse she will be fine she knows she loved and she’s happy with you as her person that’s what’s important.
I hope you try my one slit method I really think it will look awesome and you will be happy. Can’t wait to see those hail dents hidden either way.

That bad spot on roof means it was a Monday or Friday Camino, fact Monday is a hangover work day and Friday was a hurry up and get out of there to party, I remember people talking bout that back then, if you buy a new car make sure it wasn't made on a Mon. Or Fri. Lol that's the truth

Use urethane, not silicon. Because urethane is paintable. Silicon sheds any paint that gets on it and looks awful. Just a thought.

get rid off all the fiberglass hood scoop and the bed topper you do great work but dont do tacky the truck has made it this far without it just paint it and it might sell and if if doesnt sell you do not have to worrie about stuff cracking
