That was way too much for that machine!!! As a washer ok, but the manufacturer states not to fill the drum more than half full to utilize the drying feature. Plus if you knew how to wash clothes you would not put towels with a duvet cover in any machine!
I feel the review was unfair. It clearly is a half sized unit and therefore would be for half an average load. Would have loved to see it tested with what it was intended for. Small loads.
i agree.. and we don't know what settings he put it on.. if he put it on half heat or full heat.. and did he let it sit in the dryer after it was finished.. I found i get nearly bone dry by drying on "full heat" for the dryer (also make sure you are feeding it cold water during drying mode) for 1 hour 20 minutes and tak out the clothes after dry is finished and they are still hot.. and then hand them with the air around them to let the last bit of moisture on the close to vaporizing off. And BTW, I can wash dry more clothes than i saw him do in his test and still able to get it to dry good.. but even if it is not fully dry.. I use a drying rack i bought from costco to hand things on and put the rack under a ceiling fan.. and in a few hours they are fully dry enough to fold up and put away.
I came here because I was considering it for my main washing machine. His review was helpful for me because I now realize (as you said) by seeing him do this test, that it's really meant for smaller use scenarios. Maybe you could say it's obvious. But I'm busy, searching around for a few minutes before work, and I valued his test.
We purchased the EX 5500 model a year ago via Home Depot and I think that we have done a total of 10-12 loads that were correctly washed and dried within the ~3 hour time period. We have done very light loads (3 small items) to ones up to 13 lbs, all with consistent problems. They've come out boiling hot and soaking wet, to looking that had only gotten wet and not washed. We have the machine vented and every load, except the 10-12, are still damp when the cycle is over. We consistently have gotten the E6 error code indicating the electronic boards are not communicating with one another. The warranty includes a company that "services" the appliance, but it seems as though they are in another country and will ask you to send a picture for them to diagnosis it and then have you make adjustments. Fortunately we had purchased the Home Depot extra warranty and finally after dealing with the "service" company, I demanded a repair person to be acquired. The "service" company sent a new water pump and mother board. A repair person came out after 3 others refused. He installed both parts with difficulty. It now is leaking and constantly giving us the E6 error code. Have now requested a replacement model, but they are refusing as it now has been over a year. While we have purchased a different model number, it seems like this unit in the video doesn't dry well either. We do NOT recommend purchasing an Equator washer/dryer combo.
The trick is put it on wash only quick time then dry on seperate time after it’s done washing done do the combo wash an dry together then it takes long as hell
This guy should have said that machine instructions state: Don't load more than 13lbs. Also, this is great as a small machine for apartment, RV or boat. And if venting is available it does an even better job. What a maroon.
Hi, first of all, thank you for this review it's really helpful. For the Drying test, could confirm if you use the condensor mode only or the vent too? If so, what was the result? Do we have a better dry result , does it is too damp, the smell still exist and does the time of drying is the same? Thank you in advance, it's really appreciate
We only vented it, which we understood to be the best option to keep the clothes from still remaining damp after drying. And, just as I said in my review, we only were able to do 10 to 12 good loads. The clothes consistently were damp.
No one who is looking to wash an average amount of laundry is even going to remotely purchase this machine, this machine is meant for single/college folks who don’t have much laundry or space in their home. This is meant for more of an single apartment life adult.. Lastly, who the heck washes towels and a “duvet” cover together. Any “average” person doing laundry is aware that towels and sheets both dry at different drying rate. Most of the time you have to dry towels a 2nd time in a normal dryer let alone a mini version. I knew this review was gonna be useless the moment you said “in theory” ...
Thank you for making this demo. I saw this model today on Leons website. There were no reviews posted yet plus I couldn't find user comments anywhere else. But thanks to your video I now know this model is not the one to replace my full sized Kenmore front load set. I had bought them second hand and it's time to upgrade to a new model. I really want front load but would like to be able to control the amount of water used - a feature this Equador model has.
It’s got nothing to do with an average American size load of laundry. Do we not have towels and duvet covers in the rest of the world. For a start you should always do your duvet covers back up before putting in the machine this stops anything getting trapped inside them. Secondly common sense would say towels are gonna take longer to dry than a duvet cover so you shouldn’t put them all in to dry together and thirdly instruction manuals say to dry a half load not a full machine full
Don't waste your money you dry your clothes for an hour and your clothe will not dry I'm talking light sheets. I could go on and on. But no don't but it!
The fact things are not dry falls upon you sir, sorry to say but even the amount of items you put in the unit should have been half of that . And that slight burning smell you say it has had ......yeah that's also cause you put to much in the washer.
DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE!!!!!!!!! THE PLASTIC INSIDE THE DOOR IS CHEAP AND IT KEEPS BREAKING. WE DONT LEAN ON IT, PULL ON IT HARD OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. THE DOOR IS NEVER ALIGNED IT ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE A LITTLE OFF. THE PLASTIC THAT THE HINGE FITS THROUGH KEEPS CRACKING. IT MAY WASH WELL BUT ITS MADE CHEAP MATERIALS THAT DONT LAST AND AS A RENTER IN AN APARTMENT WE HAVE TO KEEP PAYING FOR THIS CRAP BECAUSE WE HAVE NO WAY OR PROVING ITS NOT US. EVEN THE PLASTIC ON THE HANDLE IS SOFT.
This not a "normal load" one would use in a smaller washer. Personally I would have done the towels&pillow case separately from the duvet even in my normal front loader dryer. Intelligent Americans would have washed differently. Moral of my story is YOU don't know how to use a smaller appliance.

@@bigtwon8590 Thanks for this information. We have since removed the washer/dryer combo unit and replaced it with a standard stackable.
Mine just quit on me. I hate this hunk of junk.
I have LG Combo for almost 15 years, and very satisfied with it. :)
Which model?
But this is not an LG model they are reviewing.

A maroon? Did you mean to call yourself a MORON? Or the guy in the video?! LOL
@@TheBrillian6 Clearly, you just don't get it. It is a play on the word... which ironically makes you a Moron. Sad...
@@TheBrillian6 were you sheltered as a child? Ever heard of Bugs Bunny? Looney Tunes? Perhaps it is YOU who's the maroon afterall....

Just get a portable washer from Haier that hooks up to your sink for $250, and air dry your laundry.
Anyone have this machine and know how to stop it from leaking where you put the detergent in? Googled it, but didn’t find any answers.
This guy way overloaded the capability of this machine
Don't waste your money you dry your clothes for an hour and your clothe will not dry I'm talking light sheets. I could go on and on. But no don't but it!
Did you used vented or ventless option?
My machine front lights don't come on????
How many garmets at once
