    I love the Palomar knot!!!

    While you're correct that it's extremely strong. There's a risk when using fluorocarbon that it digs into itself and eventually snapping. To prevent this, when seating the knot just before the final pull make sure the head/knot bundle gets flipped or seated towards the top of the line

    Strong knot but the non-slip loop knot allows more action on a ned rig and swim baits.

    Palomar knot. I use it for 95% of my knots. Anything over 10lbs for mono, floro, and any type of braid.

    Palomar knot. Use for braid and mono. Don't use for fluro. It cuts in to itself when you cinch it and set the hook and will fray the fluro at the cinch.

      I've done some research on this and I'm not convinced yet... The Palomar on Fluro has been tested and it's a 100% efficiency knot.. I think what it happening is the line is crossing eachother around the hook eye (not tied correctly) therefore is cuts in on itself.

    Don't have to run it twice with braid. But I love that knot!

    Polamor knot... BUT its bad for fluoro line, cos it cuts itself...

      Only if you tie it incorrectly and overlap your line in your hook eye.

    This also works for braided line

      Right on... all day

      @@humblehombre9904 my understanding is the opposite. Palomar knot may cut through mono and floro, especially when the overhand is twisted. Palomar is best on braid. I feel this guy gets away with the Palomar because he is using what looks like 15lbs floro.

      @Triple87 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@humblehombre9904 I’ve never had any issues with this. I bend hooks out before the knot breaks.

      I had issues with the knot slipping out on braid. Great fix was to go through the hole 2x before doubling back to start the loop. No issues since doing that

      @Triple87 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bfeldman17 triple Palomar knot won’t ever slip. You go through the loop 3 times instead of once.

    Are you gonna say the name of the knot? For those that do not know.. this is called the Palomar (spell check) its one of the strongest knots out there... and easy and quick to tie.
