The most beautiful Shawlographys are the monochromes this year. When finished with my El Fuego del Diablo, I want to knit a monochrome to pay homage to your gorgeous design. 🤫😊

You know, when I first decided to join this first MKAL, I couldn't understand what all the fuss was about with trying to decide on which colours etc but now that I'm trying to decide it is actually so hard! I am planning to gift my finished shawl to my mum so I'm choosing her kind of colours but it doesn't make it any easier. I'm even thinking of mixing some yarns from different brands which is not something I've done before. My mum is a prolific knitter, she has knitted so many different things/patterns over the years, but I bet she's never seen anything like Shawlography, it's going to be an awesome surprise!

As I was smart-working when sell started I wasn't able to buy the kit I wanted, but I really really hope it will go on sale again because it was perfect for me (it was called Satsuma something).... by the way I ask if it is possible to keep a page with the pictures of sold kits so that one can eventually look at the name and color of the skeins and buy them separately.

My first KAL! Would it be ok to use different bases and fibres of fingering weight yarn in the one shawl? I’m sorting through the stash and seeing combos of single and 2-plied, alpaca blends and kid mohair held double.
I missed out on the kits 😫 so I will have to stash dive. Do the skeins have to be the same type of yarn as in all merino or a mixture of blended yarns ? Can’t wait to start 😀

I was just about to cast on a new project when this video popped up and you got me so excited about choosing colors for the MKAL that I decided that the other project had to wait. ^^ I spent all morning choosing colors from LITLG, but I couldn't decide on 5, I had to order a 6th one as well. ;) Also, I just wanted to say I love your videos. I have some Hedgehog Fibers Sock yarn in my stash I'd like to use for the MKAL. It's 90% Merino and 10% nylon. Does anyone have any thoughts on whether it would be ok to use for the MKAL?

I used the grays + neon yellow for my first one and next I want an autumnal shawl for my final version with gold/green/rusty orange/cream. I'm so glad we get to play with so many colors this year!
The patterns from Stephen are very clear and he always has video’s with the technics explained. He is a very good teacher. If you can knit you can do it!
I would say it's adventurous beginner friendly because I will provide detailed video tutorials along the way for all the techniques and stitches. It's a great opportunity to learn some new techniques and expand your knitting skills!

I’m going to use some of my laceweight stash and make a slightly smaller shawl.

It is very frustrating to see that most of the suggested sets are ‘sold out’ from the start of this video. I have checked for weeks!
