    The BCP is really good, especially for families. I get $84 a year with the Disney credit and they offer an annual half off HBO Max (basically$50) which makes the fee -$39. You get 6% on streaming and grocery and the capped $6k max when paired with Discover and Chase Freedom 5% bonus on groceries revolving categories makes this discount ridiculous, I’d argue it’s the only AMEX card worth having. It’s also my default for gas when the discover and chase aren’t running the 5% bonus category. Looking at cards as single entities are a big mistake in analysis.

    I just want to throw out there that $6,000 cap on groceries is okay in my book actually $500 a month.

    You guys are crazy calling the sapphire preferred overrated. It is a must for transfer partners plus option for 1.25x in travel portal plus the $50 hotel credit makes it better than ink preferred unless you spend more than $5000 in travel to make up for that $50 credit.
    I agree it doesn't have great earning rates and i don't use it for spending for this reason but its needed to redeem points

    You forgot to mention that the US Bank Altitude Reserve has a $75 net annual fee.

  • @finbarrsheehan8304
    @finbarrsheehan8304 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I feel like it’s important to mention the altitude go is not 4% cash back. Each point can only be redeemed for .8cpp, making 4x=3.2% cash back

    Amex Gold refresh is probably gonna be a increase of $100 to the annual fee and a monthly $10 credit to Resy restaurants. It will be likely be a very disappointing "refresh"

    Chase ecosystem is also a game changer. Business Ink getting 5% back on cable, internet and cell phones then turning around and getting at least 1.5% bonus with Reserve when redeeming on chase travel. Plus the free Freedom revolving categories supplementing your system. Of course it depends on your spend, but again, family of 4, upper middle class and it’s a no brainer.

    Something to consider. Being an executive costco member gives you 2% back on everything, including gas. So if you use the citi costco visa for gas at costco gas stations, you end up with 6% back on already the cheapest gas around

      All cash back that you can only access once a year. Flexible points currencies are where it’s at 🤙🏽

    • @rigsb8127
      @rigsb8127 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BuiltNutritionFitness agreed. That's just something to consider for simple use for those who have the card. I level up using the Chase Biz custom cash to get 5x at office supply stores for Visa gift cards. I then mostly use Visa gift cards at Costco and costco gas for 5x UR plus the 2% cash back

      I also thought I was getting 6x on gas as an executive member until someone pointed it out on Reddit gas purchase does not get the 2x for executive members. Only warehouse purchases and online purchases do

    The Amex Gold is a better MR exporter than the CSP UR exporter. I know you could always get the BBP for this job but the Gold, depending on how you value the credits likely has an effective annual fee of $50-$100. This is pretty much on par with the CSP but it has pretty beast multipliers. It’s a good card imo. It’s probably overrated but I also think it’s over-hated as well. Def one of the more polarizing cards.

      I'm canceling my Amex Gold this year. I was just approved for Capital One Savor One. Paired with the Venture X, it's a better option for me. I also have the Chase trifecta. CSP,CFU,CFF

    I think the Costco card talks about some type of 2+2 warranty on Costco purchases that might be valuable. Like Costco will cover another 2 years of warranty beyond the manufacturers warranty on purchases.

    • @rigsb8127
      @rigsb8127 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is added value I have used. I always us the costco visa for electronics and appliances at costco for that additional warranty

    • @qcman2000
      @qcman2000 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure Citi discontinued the extended warranty on the Costco card recently, unless they reinstated it again?

    • @jwil4286
      @jwil4286 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      The -coupon book- Platinum Card can pay for itself if you know what you're doing. The Amex Gold Card, on the other hand, is a good workhorse for food, and has $240 in statement credits to mostly offset the $250 AF (and Amex offers can make up the remaining $10).
      That said, you do have to do your homework to get the most value out of this.

      @@jwil4286You have to go out of your way to use the dining credit. So unless you value your time at minimum wage, the Gold card and it's credits are trash.
      It's only a good card if you have the AF waived for military

    • @Brianpeckin
      @Brianpeckin 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Crazy to think gold is trash😂 I get any 2000 dollars points a year in value alone taking away the AF and not count transfer partners. Plat doesn't fit me yet

    • @Brianpeckin
      @Brianpeckin 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jwil4286I mean it doesn't really offset it but either way the card is it for itself. But then again even if they raise the fees on what you buy on Uber your still only paying like 20-40 a year on the card that adds a lot of points if you grocery and dine a lot
