That or you split Just a Pancake into the heartless Jamzietocool and nobody Trueblade Seeker and implemented your heart into the body while the memories formed Just a Waffle or something like that.

Actually I'm sure that a spin-off game based in Verum Rex will sell pretty well. I would buy it.
Nomura pretty much confirm Verum Rex will be a game when he said "the story of Versus XIII and Verum Rex are not the same." Also, the Teaser in Toy Story is way too expensive and too high quality to be just for 1 moment. SE needs something in return from Nomura to create this teaser. Fun fact: the art box of Verum Rex stats that the game might be SE IP since no Disney is in the box

Honestly, I think it was rather the opposite. I think Tabata changed everything because he knew he couldn't do the justice it deserved and he wanted Nomura to do it properly.
Also, SE let Nomura try to make "FFv13" since the first teaser in toys story. the assets for the trailer look way too high quality and way expensive and i dont think SE will let even Nomira to make this type of trailer without anything in return. People already knew that it was a teaser for FFv13.

Why Nomura didn’t continue with the development of Versus XIII in the first place and was handed down to Tabata?
For SE, they needed a main FF title for the eight gen console. Nomura didnt make any good progress for FFXV. So SE decided that Tabata will be the director of FFXV to finish the development faster. FFvXIII was not allowed to be said for a certain time. Since the release FFXV, I believe SE allowed Nomura to "redo" his game by the form of Verum Rex and that was confirmed by 2 messages: 1) SE is heavily marketing Verum Rex, 2) They lift the restriction of the words FFvXIII.
Tldr: They were in a hurry for a main FF title for the 8th gen and they allow Nomura to redo FFvXIII.

I dont understand the line "Verem Rex is an anagram for XV" an anagram are the letters reaaranged into another word, no? I dont get how its an anagram for XV.
its just a joke that theres the letter V at the beginning and X at the end which is VX. if you reverse it it gives you XV for Final Fantasy XV which is NOT what nomura wanted the game to be about

Will verum rex be same as ff versus 13 ?
cant say for sure. Technically the Osaka team has all the unused animation of ffv13 and assets of the game. Nomura stated years ago that both Versus 13 and Verum Rex are different story wise but the setting and theme are 100% the same. Just listen to the first 3 notes of Riku walking to a Insomnia replica/quadratum its basically Somnus even Yoko thinks both game are the same lol even the secret ending of the dlcs is saying "Ill never be a memory"
I can say that Square Enix wanted their staffs to not say the word Versus 13. But years later Nomura got a greenlight from the higher ups to continue Versus 13 but in a form of another game. So they make lot of teaser in KH3 and Union X. As such they have lifted the embargo to say Versus 13 since now it is time to market the game. Only reason they kicked out Nomura from the XV project is cuz they needed a mainline FF in the ps4 and xbox one. I really hope they make the game dark and edgy like the 2000s era lol

Thats funny bc the original name of KH4 was supposed to be Verum Rex but Nomura didnt want to confuse fans/newcomers. The dev team still calls the KH4 project ' Verum Rex ' even after the trailer was dropped
It will be cool if instead, Verum Rex is its own game but with Yozora as the protagonist :)

i actually wish they would have made ff versus xiii instead of xv. as much as i love the ost, its so awesome, and the boys, the gameplay is kinda boring since its autoplay basically and the story wasnt that great except the ending but yeah. also a verum rex game would be cool
verum rex has been confirmed already by nomura since he said that the story of ffvxiii and verum are not the same. second thing to confirm there is absolutely no way they will let nomura make the teaser of verum rex in kh3. these assets are expensive af and takes months for that cutscenes. but yeah ffxv was very awkward and it was released during the time ff series were in a bad state. tabata did his best but in the end ew
