This video is actually very accurate.
Not that much, It made it seem like Versus XIII had been in development for 6 years when that was not true. In reality Versus XIII was stopped, half of it's team was relocated to work on FInal Fantasy XIII, and the other half was sent to work on KH 3. People love to blame Nomura for the delays, or to say that he doesn't know how to do his work properly but in reality, 1 of his projects was frozen(complete with an actual public announcement of the fact, that for some reason people conveniently forgot). And he was forced to work on 2 projects at the same time with half of the team. Something that would be a hell of a work to literally anyone.

Sorry, I just needed to vent my frustrations, because god I'm, tired of people calling him a genius, and that everything he makes is a masterpiece... Because most of the time they are not even close. He has made 2 really good games as a director, KH1 and 2, but I think S-E/Disney had a lot of creative influence as well because Numora wanted Sora originally to be a cross between an animal and a human with a chainsaw. My guess is someone told him no. At least that's what early artwork revealed.
I hope Nomura doesn't get so caught up in his Versus XIII revengeance that he forgets its a KH game, but it'll be fun to see how much of his dreams he can accomplish.

Pedro Cruz-Vargas go look at a versus 13 trailer and tell me if XV had anything as nearly as flashy as versus 13. Prime example. In versus 13 noctis was able to fight without weapons, there were team takedowns on things like iron giants (not just backstabs) the list goes on there wasn’t that much footage of Versus 13 but it definitely looks more entertaining than what 15 brought to the table.

C0ldshock Dawn of the Future. A novelization of the cancelled FFXV DLCs.
Like, here's the deal. They announced four DLCs that all build up to this happy alternate ending. Then in a celebration stream for FFXV's second anniversary, they cancel three of them along with everything meant for the PC version while also announcing Tabata's resignation followed by ending support for all versions of FFXV.
Then they take those three DLCs and make them into a book that ended up very divisive and was about the price of Launch Day FFXV at first.
And then Google Stadia comes out and they develop minigames for the Stadia version of FFXV, basically showing that they literally could've continued development on the DLCs and stuff, but didn't.
All because of that damn Crystal Tools...

Nomura is such a hard worker. I really wish they'd let him finish the game the way he wanted to or at least let him re-engineer FFXV to follow his vision more closely.

I wish he got a vacation. He's really been too exploited by square and making versus XIII join KH, a game which features FF characters, is genius as versus XIII, Noctis and Stella technically are FF characters just in an unreleased game. I don't care what anyone says I like Nomuras games so much I just want him to get the rest he deserves for them
Despite being an hard worker which I admit is admirable for him but, as a creative guy he sucks, he basically a diet version Tite Kubo Bleach creator both Nomura and Kubo knows how to make cool characters designes and concepts however in terms of writing Kubo somewhat better at because there some poetry that at first you don't get but overtime you appreciate with Nomura everything his writting a d direct feels like it meant to be a manga rather than a JRPG his story is so inconsistent and overtime his story gets worse overtime which is not something want in an JRPG which is story and gameplay focused. Nomura games are all about visual aesthetics and gameplay hence why KH lasted so long because each interation has a stand out battle system and bosses it not his story, heck the only Nomura game is somewhat decent in terms of storytelling is The World Ends With You and Neo mainly because Nomura is on the producer seat rather than directing and Writing also people forget he wrote Advent Children and we know how bad it was to the point it got referenced so much because people remebred Cloud vs Sephiroth fight rather than the mediocre story.
I respect with people liking with Nomura games but I feel like his weaknesses are too jarring and noticeable to ignore.
I definitely agree with you there, I think the result would have been pretty neat had they been more patient. XV was good but it had too many flaws. Square is becoming more and more mediocre I feel they are so rushed
@@zetamangads Been a long time problem with Square. When the excessive corporate greed doesn't get to them and they make awesome games, it can often come with some bloat because the guy in charge had a brilliant idea and nobody told him no.
@Japaneseanimeguy also the problem it Square is relaying on talent that are no longer good like Kitase and Nomura.
Ever since Sakaguchi left in the early 2000, Square has been desperate to find a proper replacement. Yasumi Matsuno, the guy who made Tactics Ogre, FFT, and FF12, left and became more independent, and the guy who helped him Hiroyuki Ito has been demoted to other Square divisions like the mobile department. Square has 4 main creative businesses division. Division one is basically the FF and KH team, which is led by Kitase and Nomura. Division 2 basically focuses on NON FF games. Division 3 is the FFXIV and XVI, which is led by Yoshida. Finally, the fourth division it basically mobile games and the Mana series also this division has the Enix games such as Dragon Quest, Star Ocean and the Valkyrie Profiles, Dragon Quest makes more money since the series has more cultural impact in Japan.
Square has made 4 divisions that are the made for a specific franchise. The problem it well how managed.

Nomura was happy he got his vergence on the executives for removing his Final Fantasy 13 project and replace it with Final Fantasy 15. Also Nomura was happy to use power of Kingdom Hearts 4 to revive his Final Fantasy 13 project.
Honestly with how SQEX overworks/overuses Nomura, I'm surprised they didn't make him do FFXIV too.

Square Enix constantly taking staff away from Nomura which is why there's been only 25% done and then blaming it on him and allowing fans to believe that to be true for years until the mismanagement of the game under them and Tabata made it too obvious just how much they were actually at fault. While never letting him talk at all about XV or even attend events for it.
And then they wonder why he'd be mad at them for it.

You know Nomura was mad as hell when he got removed from Versus 13
Y'know it's actually not true that he didn't finish the story and was changing it every 3 months. Don't know who started all that. We got officially confirmed that the scenatio was finished around 2008 - 2009 if I rememeber right, and later even got confirmation of this by roberto ferrari and last year by Noctis' VA who said he still has the script for versus and it was 3 times bigger then the final game.

Oh wait I also remember what Tetsuya Nomura also working on. It was Xenoblade Chronicles 2 with Takashi and Kingdom Hearts 3 without the Remind DLC.
I can assure you that this game between Kingdom Hearts 3 and 4 will not be reboot to my beloved cancelled game FFVesus13 and Yozora is definitely not Noctis that I meant to create him for.

It's hard to call Nomura slow when Square kept dragging him away from the project and working on Kingdom Hearts spinoffs. I'll bet that if Nomura didn't have to work on any KH spinoffs and had a decently sized team, he could have pumped it out. It was his baby, there's no shame in wanting to do it right.

Y’know, i just had an idea- it would be wild if Nomura was actually so salty that he makes this Versus 13 an over exaggeration of what 15 is or FF has become, like a undertone “parody” to it, having all these “definitely not” ff troupe and character types and calling them a different thing(kinda like what they did with his idea of versus13),
but still bringing the characters and the storyline he wanted for Versus 13.
Considering KH story has been lacking some "oomph" for a while, having this "not-ffVS13" spice story up would actually be interesting direction.
