89年に登場した「クライムファイターズ」の第2作目。前作では「クライムファイターズ」と呼ばれる市警特捜班が主役だったが、今作では一変、ギャング同士による抗争を題材とした内容となっている。ただゲーム内容は、前作同様の格闘アクションタイプ。操作はキャラクターの移動に使うレバーと、パンチ、キックの2ボタン、2ボタン同時押しによるスペシャルアタックとなっている。また前作と比べ主人公の動きの自由度が高くなっているのも特徴である。実はこの作品は当時、4人同時プレイ(パーティプレイ)が可能だったことで海外で人気を呼んだ前作の影響を受け、コナミが日本で本格的に4人同時プレイできる作品として作ったもので、新型4P筐体対応の第1弾ソフトとしてリリースしたものである。
ストーリー:
ここデッドエンドシティは、圧倒的な力をもった暴力集団「デッドエンドギャング」によって支配されていた。だが彼らのボス「ファウスト」は、さらなるテリトリーの拡大を目論んでいたが、彼の野望の前に立ちはだかる者たちが現われた。「コブラズ」。少数ギャング中、最強と噂される彼らは「ファウスト」の送り込んだ刺客を次々に倒していった。手を焼いた「ファウスト」は「コブラズ」のメンバーである「ホーク」の妹「ケイト」を誘拐し、「コブラズ」抹殺を企てた。そして今、怒りに燃える「コブラズ」と「デッドエンドギャング」の最終抗争が幕を開けた･･････。

This one always really appealed to me back in the day. Just some really great pixel art going on there, and solid beat 'em up gameplay.
この作品が出た時、地元のゲーセンで￥50でプレイできたけど、ゲームレベル高めの設定でした。敵キャラ、ギミック豊富で操作性も良く当時のKONAMIらしさが良く出た好きな作品の一つでした。

This one is pretty unique amongst the hundreds of these types of games. I like being able to beat them on the ground.

The first Crime Fighters is like Double Dragon meets TMNT,
Crime Fighters 2 is more like Final Fight meets TMNT.

I went and watch some more videos and I don't have the same perception as you. In my eyes CF1 is more like a SOR1/Burning Fight mix and the CF2 is totally Double Dragon/Final Fight. But hey, I don't have to be right, it's that's just how I see it.

It plays more whit less fluity, it still feels good to play.
これ当時はゲーセンでやってたなあ。ブーマーとホークを使ってたな。家庭用に移植しなくて、たまにやりたいと思ったら、アケアカで配信されたからすぐに買って、プレイしたなあ。しかしプレイヤーの攻撃の時の声がウルトラマンの声に聞こえる。スト2や餓狼伝説の合間にファイナルファイトやクライムファイターズ2をゲーセンでかなり遊んでたな

Dead end city was a peaceful place. until it was taken over by a group of Evil Black-hearted criminals known as: the dead end gang. Hawk, former pro wrestler, is spending some time with his girlfriend Kate. But... the dead end gang kidnaps Kate. And Hawk is too powerless to stop them. So he needs help with his three friends: Blood, Boomer, and Sledge. And together, they form an elite group of heroic crime-fighting Vigilantes known as: the cobras. And they live with only three goals: to destroy the dead end gang, rescue Kate, and save Dead end City.

前作に比べて体力回復アイテムが出るようになった分、前作より難易度が下がったように思う。
ファイナルファイトが途中に体力回復アイテムが有ったから、それに影響されたのかな？
最後のボスラッシュも前作では1人で全部のボスを相手にしないといけなかったのが今作では2人ずつで良いし。
