- This is a step by step instructional video on the Correctional Officer Physical Aptitude Test (COPAT) which is part of the Correctional Peace Officer (CPO) application requirements. A male and female participant guide viewers through each part of the COPAT obstacle course.
Hi Everyone. I did my PFT this morning and passed.
Yes, it was for CDCR and it was not the course in the previous post. There is another video on youtube that is more reflective of what the course looks like. I would still advise you to work on the same exercises in this COPAT video.
Where is the other video
Hey how are you , I am trying to prepare for the test what all do you have to do to pass ?
I would advise you all to train for the obstacles in this video and work on your cardio. No reason why anyone can't pass this PFT.
@Kidd....you'll be alright.
You understand that this for the ALBERTA, CANADA correctional officer physical testing....
Don't ever doubt yourself!
Good question Zack I'm in NYC just made the list ....I'm super out of shape also ..gotta find a gym fast!
I'm taking my test in Maine for windham corrections and I was told that we don't do any running some stairs and dragging a 150lb dummy 34yds
It didn't look as hard as I thought it would be. Seems like you just need to have a lot of endurance. I thought it would be some boot camp type of things incorporated lol.
jumping over the rail is my only issue..
I didn't have to do this, I have to run across a gym and back six times and drag a 150 sandbag about 10 feet all in a certain amount of time, this seams more hardcore.
jumping over the rail how can I practice this.. I will have to find away cause my agility test is 2 weeks away..
does anyone know if this is similar to the ontario test?
This is the Physical Fitness Test to become a Correctional Officer???
Each state and country is different.
Yea and for cpo
And sheriff
yes sir.
I'm overweight, i can't do that! Damn it...... Actually, that's not even what's gonna stop me. It's the 4 knee surgeries ive had on my right knee. The things on this video that look the toughest for me are the stair tests, the hurdles, and the stuff at the end getting up and down so quick while jumping over a 3 ft bar. This sucks too cause i passed the written stuff but i doubt i can do this...
is this like standardized for all correctional careers?
Jeeze this is so easy. I had to do maximum pushups and situps and timed mile and a half run
i have always wanted to become a police officer or really anything that involves LE but i found out you need good eyesight ;( i have good eyesight with my glasses but my eyesight is terrible without glasses im wondering could i be involved with LE if i have bad eyesight? i don't want lasik i hear its really bad for your eyes
Is this what the VPD uses for Jail Guard testing?
Does anyone know what the PFT in California is like? Is it the same as the video?
I want to know this also???
Can u run with the torso bag at the end???
Is this when u academy? Are is this well u applying? Cause I'm going to academy soon and I haven't done none if this yet
I think you need to worry more about the written test.
whats the time limit?
i m 50 i ready for a new career
Is this for everywhere(or at least Ohio)? I'm super out of shape but I can do this, I did way harder when I played football in highschool and I've only been out a year so I should be able to do this problem free. I'm sure its a lot harder than it looks but I'm pretty confident with it.
Notice at the end where it says "Alberta". Ohio isn't even in the same COUNTRY.
i agree with you. but note, it depends on individual body language on the day of the test .
in what state is this in?
Is this for California ??
+drew m This was done in Alberta, Canada.
Not true at all
OC day is much worse
yes
Inmates better not mess with them! :P
70 pounds
All that exercise won't help you when you have a shank in your neck.
Except a lot of actual correctional officers. lol.
