@@budah155 I don't play commander...But, Avaycn, Angel of Hope is one of my favourite cards so kudos to you sir! I've got a near-mint playset of her and she's so dominant.
Hey Nizzahon, great Video. I'd love to see one "honorble mention" (a card that recently fell of the list or a card that represents the cards of the video very well for example raging goblin for a top 10 goblins list or serra angel for this list) and also one "on the rise" pick (a card that was just recently printed or just began to be played in a new way, but didn't quite make the list). I know its a lot of work but it would be great.
I thought Angel of Invention would make it, that card was pretty broken in standard. I guess that shows how many super powerful angels there have been over the years

While she wasn't in the decks I've had the most fun playing (those would likely be Delirium, Waste Not and a 5 color dragons deck), I definitely enjoyed playing her, then playing her along with Resplendent Angel and other life gaining cards. Healers Hawk becoming one of my favorite one drops as a result of the deck, too. Similar to Sacred Cat.
I LOVE Lyra and use her in my main historic arena g/w angels deck (thanks to the addition of Shelai and Resplendent Angel, along with things like Blossoming Defence and Prowling Serpopard, there's a lot of ways to not only keep my angels around, but explode the field when I drop my third Resplendent and keep swinging with Lyra and the 4/4 (5/5 with Lyra) angel tokens who now have vigilence and lifelink).

The definition of "iconic" as Wizards of the Coast uses it was why so many players felt disappointed in the set "Iconic Masters." WotC was using the term to refer to creature types, not realizing that most players didn't know this definition. Players were confused and disappointed because cards that they considered "iconic" weren't in the set.
Well, that and the fact that Iconic Masters was dogshit by those standards. Dragon tribal was a fully supported theme and Angels and Demons got off alright, but fuck you if you like Sphinxes and Hydras because there's only three of them and none at common. No common Demons either.
Archangel Avacyn is hilarious when you can add Deathtouch and Lifelink.. my old playgroup would regularly play large multiplayer games usually around 5-8 of us in a single game. I threw her into an Abzan-Red mid-range list that ran the Bow, Hammer, and Whip with big ETB/LTB creatures to sac to Mercy Killing and Zhur-Taa Druids for ramp and tons of life gain. I remember one game getting her down with Bow, Hammer, and Whip already on the field and dropping Spark Trooper next turn and getting to swing both uncontested with Boros Charm which I then sacced to Mercy Killin with another Boros Charm in hand for indestructible during next upkeep.. it was disgusting and hilarious wiping the board and gaining 100+ life and the only creatures on board. I didn't even care that I was public enemy #1 after that 🤣😂🤣😂
As a Bant Angels player in Historic, I'm shocked that neither Righteous Valkyrie nor Resplendant Angel made the list. I guess it goes to show how extremely different the formats are.
Comparing this to your other "MTG Top 10: Angels" from 3 years ago: (spoilers) Akroma is not number 10 anymore. Angel of Serenty took the spot, who was number seven 3 years ago. Exalted Angel meanwhile went up the list. It wasn't even on the list before, now it is up to number 9, squeezed into the spot between Serenity and Sigarda. Cool to see that Sigarda managed to score some more top 8s over the years. Baneslayer surpassing Linvala is also a surprise. A lot of Modern top 8s. The top 2 are still the same, not much of a surprise. Also neat that Avacyn got that one top 8 in Modern (10:57).
Do you only award points based on if the card appeared in the deck (ie 1 ofs score the same as 4 ofs). I was surprised to see that Entreat the Angels only got 2 points from block, despite it being a 4 of in Alexander Hayne's PT winning deck
A Top 10 Counters video would be cool. But not counter magic, just cards that get counters or give out counters. Not only will it be a troll title (since counter magic is pretty trolly) but a fun video.
Angel of Serenity is more like a Journey to Nowhere because Oblivion Ring is any permanents, but people don't really know as much about Journey to Nowhere
You can still give it lifelink WITHOUT redundancy, that is the difference. (So if you give it lifelink and it deals damage, you get life from his ability and then again from lifelink - Of course, you can enchant multiple Spirit Link or Vampiric Link also to gain even more life, but not more than one lifelink.) I am not sure if you'd gain life if the angel deals damage while it isn't on the battlefield (lifelink does). Rule 702.15d The lifelink rules function no matter what zone an object with lifelink deals damage from. Rule 702.15f Multiple instances of lifelink on the same object are redundant. Also note that the ability is a triggered ability, while lifelink is not. That means that the lifegain can be prevented by countering the ability even after damage was dealt. This also means that you can lose due to being reduced to 0 or less life before the ability resolves, whereas you'd gain the life from lifelink at the same time as damage is dealt.
sacrifice angel of serenity (#10) before her etb is resolved and the 2nd effect will not occur..they wont get their stuff back because it hasnt been removed yet
Going back to the spirits top 10, it had 70 points. The methodology might have changed but it looks more like he forgot. Oh well, its probably not surprising with the number of cards in the game.

@@NizzahonMagic Literally none of those details disagrees with what I said since I am aware of all of them, so I am not sure why you would phrase them as facts against me. My main point in that second post was how there was fewer of the competitive tournaments that you count early on (as you would expect given it was an unknown fiscally), so it just seems like you could be disproportionately including newer cards at a higher rate.
