DexterLaura Anderson 1 day ago David why don’t you discuss D and C 138? Hi DexterLaura....(not sure with this is). That is a wonderful passage of scripture. And I am just barely learning most of what there is to learn. I have read the Book of Mormon...skimmed it rapidly just to get a feel for the flow of the narrative...and now am studying carefully through it slowly. I have not even read D and C or Pearl yet. I did read a few passages, including DC 138, because kind people such as you referred me to them. But still...I am trying not to refer to the Standard Works...other than the Bible....for a very simple reason. If you look at the Title page of the videos, as the bottom...you will see this written: "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints...Truth Defended...from the Bible and from my own Experience". .. My particular thing...is I was an Evangelical Christian for 47 years...that was told the Bible DISQUALIFIED the Latter Day Saints....as even being Christian...much less the "True Church" that they truly are. And I believed that lie....hook, line and sinker. And hundreds of millions of Evangelical Christians are deceived to believe that same lie....that kept me from finding the Restoration for 47 years. So my burden....for now at least...is to defend and establish the Truth of the Restoration and of the Latter Day Saints...as being TRULY, UTTERLY BIBLICAL....truly as MORE biblical than the faith of their slanderers....based simply on my own deep experience of what Evangelical Christianity actually is....and based simply on the only "Word of God" that Evangelicals accept as scripture...that is, the Bible. Given such a "mission statement"...it makes no sense for me to be quoting from the Book of Mormon. There are millions of Latter Day Saints who can quote the Book of Mormon far better than I can...but I CAN defend and support Latter Day Saint teaching and practice...from the Bible...so for now...I am sticking with that! I hope that helps you to understand what I am trying to do and why! Sincerely, In Christ, David Alexander
Brother David this is Mike Archer from mesa Arizona. I read your message to Laura and While certainly understanding her enthusiasm with DNC 138 I totally agree With your Idea of Referring mainly The New Testament revelations to point out the utter absurdity taught of self appointed detractors of our faith. I've been listening to you as most have your heart warming Light hearted Testimonies. You really are talented at dismantling all of their narratives. and how clear Your views are concerning The Bible, It's awesome in my view. Thank you! for teaching me so much that I have forgotten, bringing many things to my remembrance. Perhaps someday, when other seekers that were only able to drink milk, like me, become able to now feast upon small pieces of soft food and get on board, as you move to the more recent scriptures. But for now I love what you're doing. It's perfect.! Congratulations on your baptism!
Its needed. You can defend everything we teach in Temples by just using the Bible. Saying to them Read the Pearl of Great Price is insufficient for those who have yet to receive a witness of the Book of Mormon.
Hey David, Don't worry that you joined the church late in the game. I felt I should encourage you on this. This will give you a unique perspective to help others that are struggling, because now you have thick armor and you have the perspective of having to overcome. You'll be able to help people who have lost their way and strengthen them. Because you really want the Lord in your life, and because you really feel for it, this is different from someone who doesn't appreciate it as much. So when you see people you can help them feel the taste of the love of Jesus and the fruit of how good it feels. You'll be able to encourage them from real warmth of testimony when they are cold. This means finding a testimony later will become a blessing to you. And in the eternal perspective you don't lose if your pace is stronger now than if you'd joined earlier with a slow pace. Right now you want to go fast and help others, and this attitude will help you feel love from Jesus. I believe the story of Enos and Lehi's dream will help you a lot now. (1st Nephi Ch 8, and Enos). Enos is very similar to you and I, I feel. He came to have a DEEP and strong firm bedrock conviction that was unshakable. Concrete if its mixed right also gets stronger with age. Unshakable.
You are AMAZING! I'm born and raised in MT. Joined in 1973, 50 yrs of magnificent blessings etc. Served a full-time mission and 2 Family History Missions. Love your messages, videos and testimony. ❤❤❤❤❤
Brother Alexander, I so love your testimony. I’m Grateful to God for his blessings upon you, and the blessings upon the rest of us from him though you to us. Never let it go. ❤️
When I was 7 our Methodist preacher discovered my dad had let mormon missionaries, who knocked on our door, into our home. Dad was hoping to help those young men see the error of their ways. Our preacher demanded dad not allow them into our home or have contact with them. This came at a time when dad was about to ask the missionaries not to come back but was astounded at how un-Christ like he himself had been treated by our minister. So he continued to study the LDS beliefs. Neighbors encouraged my parents to not let them in. Mom even caved to the pressure and for a time would go to the neighbors when the missionaries came. Later she was so embarrassed at this behavior. After 18 months of diligent searching my parents joined the LDS church. None of our neighbors let the missionaries teach them. This was in 1957. My parents have many descendants through myself and my 4 sisters. My siblings and I are so incredibly thankful to Dad for persevering in his discovery and making a decision to commit to a way of life that has brought the Savior into our lives in a most profound way. I consider my parents extraordinary examples of true Christians who totally set an amazing example when at first they thought negative thoughts of this "foreign" religion.
It's interesting to see this happening everywhere in the world. You can see how vicious the other religious denominations are toward the LDS as if the devil is in their souls.
Yikes! Amazing pure testimony from a 14 year old! That Baptist brother will be held accountable for brushing off such a testimony! From the mouth of babes!!!
Thank you for letting the world to know your testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Holy Ghost testified this truth to me, I'm praying that i will stand true to God to my last breathe and in all eternities.
Dear Brother, Thank you for your great testimony and your excitement for the restored gospel. I was raised as a Southern Baptist but was converted at 18 by my sister. (I'm 66 now) I love and appreciate my protestant brothers and sisters. They do a lot of good but it is sad that many are not open to further truth and knowledge. Churches are like ladders to heaven. Most churches will get you to the Terrestrial world (the christian view of being saved). But eventually all churches will have to lean on the ladder of the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS to get to the very top, the Celestial Kingdom. I'm so grateful I found the tallest ladder❣️ God bless you my Brother❣️
I absolutely love listening to your messages Brother Alexander. It is just wonderful to have part in your journey! My mother who was a member of the church married my father, who was the son of a Methodist minister. Very great people. But when I was 11 yrs. old, the missionaries taught us, and dad converted, gave up tobacco, which he discovered around age 12, and myself, and 2 brothers were baptized, and after 1 year traveled from Oregon to the Salt Lake City temple to be sealed together as a family. That completely changed our lives from pretty great (because of loving parents) to a life of service, dedication and the joy...that only this gospel of Jesus Christ can bring. Those missionaries brought the light and truth that we lacked and needed to thrive and grow. My husband and I have been blessed to send out all 5 of our sons to various missionary destinations. When you speak of the Sister Missionaries, it brings a smile to think of our grandchildren who have chosen to serve, of which 5 are granddaughters. One who returned, 2 serving now, and 2 with mission calls. They are so happy and excited to meet people like you, who seek and want to know the truth, but aren't sure where to find it. What a testament of our Savior's love His plan is. Thank you for everything you do.
Your testimony strengthens us all. Sometimes when you’ve always had something, you take it for granted. Thank you for your public testimony.❤ it’s definitely not the popular thing to publicly support The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints but when I get backlash or hate I always think that Jesus Christ wasn’t very popular in mainstream religion in His day either 😊 I think the mistake most people make is looking at our religion as not true and trying to prove it. But if you try to look at it that it is true and truly Christs RESTORED gospel with blessing, covenants, priesthoods and doctrines that have been LOST. It’s so easy to be so grateful for added scripture and current prophets that clarify and receive revelation that helps us come unto Christ. I so wish other religious people would at least look to see if it’s true instead of trusting all the anti material. They are missing out on so much that god wants to give them in the last days. Sorry this was a lot! Anyways so grateful for your videos!
I am very happy for you. As you grow in the Gospel and with your understanding of the Bible combined with the teachings of the Book of Mormon you will be and in truth already are a powerhouse force in the effort to bring souls to Christ. God speed brother... you have 100s of people praying for you. No more strangers but fellow citizens with the Saints.
Brother David......you will never know how many hearts you have touched ❗️. The gift of discernment in D&C sec 46....is one of the special gifts of the Holy Ghost. I discerned your sincerity, and your love of the truth immediately😔. As refreshing as a spring breeze! You radiate the JOY and PEACE that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings to us. THANK YOU....
Thanks very much brother David for reopening our eyes to see the beauty of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints, your testimony and teaching always makes me fill joy and happiness may the lord bless us as we keep holding the iron rod and staying on the covenant pass on this road to our celestial home in heaven.
I work with a handfull of evangelicals who meet for lunch time bible studies and theyere nice people so i as one of the "happy people" caught thier attention and i knew that our discussions were centered around converting me and i engaged happily with patients. They dont really talk to me anymore. So your right about long suffering with them moving on. I still am as nice as can be to them and try to be thier friend with sincerity. Im older and have done this a few times and i enjoy you videos and your perspective.
Also I want to add that every time I meet an evangelical and they realize I’m Mormon they try like crazy to try to convince me I’m wrong. When I just listen and smile and share my testimony they hate it, they want me to argue bc they feel like they’ve accomplished something patience is not something I’ve really seen in them. It’s just insults almost immediately. That has always turned me away from that path they’re on! They also use instant boom got it or not in the form of manipulation of fire and hell. I see billboards that crack me up. They’ll say be saved or HELL AND FIRE forever type stuff. I think wow! How sad to see it that way! Manipulation and fear is what Satan would do. That’s isn’t Gods true way. Charity suffereth long and is kind. It is not puffed up. I love the gospel. They really just don’t know what they’re missing! I am glad David that the spirit worked with you and you overcame your “ego” about Mormons 😂😂
That young girl had an awesome spiritual experience that clarified she was actively fulfilling Heavenly Father's will and giving living spirits the opportunity to return to our Father. How awesome is that? What a service for our earthly family and brothers and sisters we never met in this life.
Wow, David! I truly love listening to your preaching. The spirit witnesses to me so strongly, especially when you support the restored church with the testimony of the Bible. I love that you get it! I wish you could be in my Sunday school class or priesthood quorum. I love how well you know and understand the Bible and are able to recognize the true doctrines in God's church. Thank you, brother. May God bless you.
David You getting quite the notoriety here in the US. Like a wildfire, your story is spreading In the LDS community. I am a convert. I love what you are sharing. It’s encouraging and faith promoting. I look forward to hearing more from your perspective. I get from my Evangelical friends the “you believe in the wrong Jesus quite frequently.” Love to hear your view on that.
I'm happy to know brother David that you joined the TRUE Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I've watched a couple of your videos and feel with you the testimony that this indeed is the TRUE Church. I see you like Saul the persecutor turned to Paul the apostle. Hoping that you'd touch more people with your testimony especially those who are not yet on the fold. Keep up the good work David. I'm from the Philippines and a returned missionary.
David, picking a favorite among your wonderful videos is like trying to pick a favorite child. It's impossible! But, I have to tell you that this video is absolutely among my favorites! I have watched it about 5 times now, and it is a blessing to me every time. ❤️ Thank you so much for your wise words. You are doing so much good in the world. God bless you.
Thank you for your beautiful testimony in word and song! We're so blessed to be part of the HAPPY people!! My hearts swells with excitement and joy for you, when you go to the Temple. When you can take part of these beautiful experiences of worship and work for those that have departed from this earthly life, only in a dedicated House of the Lord.
I appreciate your testimony. I like you have a personal journey. I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in a small Utah community. I progressed through through the steps that normal boys took. Baptized at eight, by my father. Ordained a Deacon at 12 called to be a Home Teaching partner with my father, to all the widows in the ward at a time when all their homes were heated with wood or coal. I cheerfully chopped wood And hauled coal bucket into their homes. I was set apart as a teacher at 14 and and priest at 16. I was asked to baptize my baby sister and a classmate of her's 2 months later. I tell you these things because at the time it was just the way of life in that small town in the 50s and 60s. I was living on the testimony of my father and some wonderful Bishops. My brother was called on a mission in a time the church was limited on number missionaries from each stake due the military draft. It was believed that most "MORMON" boys went on missions to avoid the draft I just figured that both a mission and .military service was in my future I expressed my desire to go on a mission to my Grandma, who had 2 other grandsons on missions. She asked me to tell her my testimony. She was not convinced. She challenged to gain a testimony for myself. On 2 February 1971 I entered the old mission home in Salt Lake City Before the MTC. After 2 months a the LTM(Language Training Mission)learning Afrikaans I was off to South Africa and Rhodesia. Upon returning from Africa. I married my 1st wife, in the then joined the Army. I was one of the 1st of the all volunteers after the end of the draft Upon returning from the service at a time when there were only 7 presidents of 70 as general aauthorities. Each stake had a 70s quorum I was set apart as a 70 by my Stake President, and served as a stake and ward missionary until October Conferance 1987 when the 70s were disbanded in the stakes and a 70 became a general Church calling and we were told to meet with the Elders During those years I served in youth callings as well. I again married. In the Temple in 1986 and then called as a Stake and Ward Family History specialit, my wife having a genealogy degree from BYU.
Loved the musical touch. My heart is full. As Robert Millett wrote in a Church News Article titled "Christlike life: Quest is to become like Him": Self Denial Emulation of Christ Transformation ‘To choose Christ is to choose to be changed’ Sanctification through the Holy Ghost enabled by His Atonement. Not there yet, put patient, persistent faith turns obstacles into stepping stones. Love and Encouragement to all.
David, you are the essence of patience. 47 years is a long time to search, but you waited and finally found the truth. You are filled with Charity, which is the pure Love of Christ.
David, thanks for all you do! I'm willing to bet that this specific approach to your content-namely, enumerating through scripture why you disagree with all other theological positions, save the LDS-is the approach that your audience (both LDS *and* non-LDS) are most interested in. Shalom, and keep it up, Brother! 🕊️
Thank you David. More than once I have thought you would like the story of Vincenzo Di Francesca. He was a WWI veteran and later a minister. He came to NY from Italy to do a short stint at a church in NY and while there he noticed a book without a name and cover sitting in the trash, covered in soot. Being short on reading material, he took it, cleaned it up and was astounded to learn of Jesus coming to America. It was full of wonderful stories of people preaching of Christ, faith growing through hardship in the face of adversity. But the names were strange and it had no cover or title page, but the last strange man who testified of Christ, who would not deny the Christ gave him a challenge. Moroni told him to pray. Pray to God in the name of Jesus if these words were not true. Pray with faith and he would not only hear the prayer, but answer it, telling him that it was of God. Well, I'm not going to ruin it for you, but every time you say 47 years contrasted with December to now (what is that 2-3 months of study with us?) I think of dear brother Vincenzo. I'm going to post the video made about it shown to us in seminary in a reply below. Be right back. Appreciate your story. It lifts me up. Edit, spelling of his name
th-cam.com/video/75D5UEPwP-Y/w-d-xo.html How rare a possession. It also has Parly P Pratt's conversion story on there. You might appreciate that too. He was the most proficient missionary in the restored gospel, serving something like 30 missions. He has written many hymns in the hymn book.
I also love this story of Don Vincenzo di Francesca. I read it in a book in detail by Gene R. Cook called “Searching The Scriptures”. This Italian preacher found the Book of Mormon on top of a barrel in New York in 1910. He preached sermons from truths he learned in the book and the congregation loved his sermons so much they left when the other pastors taught. He was sent for disciplinary action and told to burn the book more than once. He went to War in World War 1 and got in trouble by telling the story of Ammon and how they refused to shed the blood of their brothers and buried their arms rather than be guilty of so great crimes. After the war he continued to teach from this book and his companion reported him and he was cut off from his church forever, so he went back to Italy. It wasn’t until 1930 that he accidentally found the word ‘Mormon’ in a French dictionary. He read there was a university in Provo, Utah. He wrote a letter to the president of the university and received a reply from President Heber J Grant. He was sent a complete Book of Mormon in Italian and a pamphlet telling the story of Joseph Smith. World War II kept him from baptism by the missionaries until finally, in 1951! Etc…. I have cherished my scriptures ever since reading this story!
The ironic thing here about that Pastor's story: As he was telling the story of the little girl's vision in the temple trying so desperately to convince whoever was listening that it was evil, just the opposite happened for me... As he was speaking, I got chills and felt the Holy Ghost confirming to me the exact OPPOSITE of what he was saying! And that in fact, ACTUALLY it WAS true! If I can feel the Spirit when someone is trying to convince me something isn't true (which it is), how completely past feeling and hard hearted would you have to be to be the person telling the story and not feel the Spirit? In my experience (and I could be completely wrong), that seems to be common among the Evangelicals. They try to convince you with logic and their cunning wisdom that their interpretation is true, when they seem to almost completely discount that it is the HOLY GHOST that confirms the truth. Words don't convert anyone. The Spirit is who converts us. They preach of Jesus, but their minds and hearts are completely closed off to the Spirit of the Lord. It's really sad to see. Again, maybe I'm wrong about that, but I'd love to hear what David has to say about that.
Agreed. It also drives me nuts when Christ himself gives them the standard by which to Judge. They completely ignore it. By their fruits ye shall know them…an entire parable dedicated to help discern and they refuse to even weigh us using HIS standard. Good fruit CANNOT come from Satan yet we’re deceivers who are projecting light. Never is our fruit ever discussed. The design and organization of the church is perfect to include the Lay ministry which is basically a “school” of discipleship as you accept and fulfill callings. Statistically the number of our members who pay a full tithe are astounding compared to other religions, our health stats, our educational stats, marriage/divorce stats even..I could go on and on, yet they literally REFUSE to even look at that. It’s mind blowing really
It's even funnier that he specifically points out that this "miracle" happened in separate unconnected places and to unrelated people, but doesn't think we might go "hmmm, maybe there's something to it then." 😶
What a wonderful comment!! Bless you in your baptism, and stick with David to maintain your enthusiasm. He IS truly a Godsend of just another saint BUT he does as Paul says to do and preaches from the house tops -like we all should in every way we can!! Forgive me, Lord, right now I’m a David Alexander addict! I thrive in his enthusiasm. Coupled with his all along background of being an eEvanglical pastor, “ Yes! This is how they ALL ought to do! And wake up and simply be HUmBLE!
Thank you Brother Alexander, for your strong testimony. It builds and strengthens mine and I am grateful to know your story. As well as have your unique perspective.
It’s so interesting to me that this pastor can have such thick scales over his eyes. I think it’s pride that kept him from listening to that 14 year old girl. He is the one who can’t humble himself.
❤this gave me so much hope❤ thank you for all your kind and patient support ❤ " Now if there is no resurrection, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them? (1 Corinthians 15:29)
Thank you Brother for sharing your knowledge, wisdom, and most importantly your Testimony. You are actively engaged in doing the Lords work and he will bless you for it.
Thank you David for having the faith to share your thoughts - the process of your discovery of truth as you have been enlightened by the spirit. Your faith, knowledge, insight, humour, love, honesty, humility and genuineness are the “fruit” that make your message irresistible. No flattery intended but you had patience, or stubbornness, of 47 years to be able to receive your gift of the Spirit…of being able to cut through the “accusatory fog”.
David, I don’t know if you’ve watched past conference talks from Apostles no longer alive but one of my favorites is Elder Neal A. Maxwell. I think you’ll be impressed and touched by any of his messages. Thanks for your channel and testimony.
Thank you David, grateful for your words, your faith and your testimony and I am thankful to have associations with amazing people like you in this the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
David, has anyone mentioned our past Apostle Elder Neal A. Maxwell to you? I know you're being introduced to many important things right now, but when you are able to watch anything from Elder Maxwell, I know you will enjoy him.
Thank you for your honesty. Thank you for sharing insights and wisdom in recognizing and deciphering truth. You have a gift of articulating and expressing these truths in a beautiful way.
The joy of watching your videos is out of this world. That’s what I call joyous. Joyful and loving are the characteristics of happy patient peculiar people who are walking on the straight highway of holiness. Isn’t that great!!
Boy did I need to hear this today. Thank you for assisting and bringing patience and forgiveness to my spirit this morning after some disturbing conflict I experienced earlier in the morning. You are a wonderful example of teaching an old dog new tricks (I’m the old dog, not you 😂)
David I first heard u on Cwic. You really stood out to me. I'm ex-mo of about forty years. I've also watch Mormon stories. What strikes me about that is these people recount very positive experiences of childhood and for some reason quit. Myself I had problems with members and some of the policies and practices of the church. But this is America and a person's right to freedom of religion which is one the principles this country was on.
Thank you so, so much for sharing your testimony with the world. I am blessed to be a descendant of early church pioneers and have been raised in the truth. I hope as you grow and progress, you will continue to share your excitement with the things you learn. You are a blessing to the members of the church with these vlogs.
I asked my Bishop, who knows me quite well, give me something you think I need to work on most to be more Christlike. He said Patience. My first thought was, I don't have time for that. HaHa but I really started thinking about it and I was incredibly impatient. Now I have a rolling university to teach me patience every day, the freeway. Give it a try.
That's story about the thirteen year old girl is remarkable. Reminds me that our children can see things because of their faith just like brother joseph back in eighteen twenty
Bro David, Thank you for your testimony and instruction on patience and long suffering. Thank you... And yes, for our born again Christian brothers and sisters and heathens, we will extend patience and love even if love and patience are not returned. May God continue to bless you in your selfless, humble, informed, objective and truthful ministry. You are needed in this day and time preparatory to the return of the Lord, Jesus Christ. Carry on...
Thankyou for your pssionate testimony of Jesus Christ...you are doing a great mission for the Lord! Also I just love the fact that we NEVER send our missionaries out to put down or speak negativly about any other religions EVER! You will NEVER hear anything negative about other denominations from our pulpits...ever! We love our brothers and sisters that believe in Christ even if they do not always return that love. Also FYI...The story about that 13 year old girl sharing her testimony about her temple experienc was almost word for word what I was told by one of my children doing temple work for the departed at that young age...standing in line to be confirmed for others....my son also saw a line of Sirits waiting sadly and he was so relived when one of the brothers who thought they were finished...turned over a paper and said "oh we are not finished...here are some more names!"...I believe it was my sons first temple trip as a decon & needless to say, he was so relieved! He also saw each one leave the line as their work was finished. Also thank you for singing and for your heart felt prayer ...keep shining your JOY!!!
Bless are the pure in heart, just like those humble little ones, just like young, Joseph Smith saw Havenly Father and Jesus Christ his son, we are working together with our ancestors, the Gathering of lsreal on both sides of the Vail, Still miracles for we are children of God a living, loving God of Miracles, love ❤️ and prayers
Please refrain from using the word “just” too much. I know you came by it honestly. I too came out of the evangelical movement. You just did it again! Great message.
All these character traits that you speak of are gifts of the Spirit - certainly nothing we can claim by our own power (at least I can’t). As we embrace the part of God’s Grace that changes us, (not just forgives, loves, & “saves us”), we’re sanctified thru the Atonement & by the purifying agent of the Holy Ghost. It’s not something we can do by our own willpower; it happens as we turn our wills over to Him. It doesn’t happen all at once; it’s a journey - line upon line, precept upon precept - as we pray to have our hearts changed & strive to do His will; then, thru the process of serving others (other churches might call this “works”), our capacity to love increases. It’s the transformative power of the Savior. I’m not the same person I was when I joined the church 42 yrs ago… I’m not the same person I was 5 yrs ago, 1 yr ago, last month (as long as I’m nurturing my relationship w/ Him & seeking to do His will), & that’s my favorite part of the gospel: The transformative power of Grace, thru the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Is it Elder Holland who says, “come as you are, but expect to be changed.” I’m sooo grateful that He loves me enough to change my heart so that I’m able to overcome my fallen nature, that through His Atonement I can, as Pres Nelson stated, “overcome the spiritually and emotionally exhausting plagues of the world, including arrogance, pride, anger, immortality, hatred, greed, jealousy, and fear.” I’m sure there are many good Christians of other faiths that also experience this same transformative power of Jesus. Maybe it’s just more emphasized & taught in our church (& maybe the thing that other Christians mis-interpret as us thinking we’re saved by our works). As you spoke of long suffering, I couldn’t help but feel humbled & grateful when I think of just how long suffering & patient Heavenly Father and Jesus have been w/ me in so many areas thru the years, & I’m sure will continue to be so, b/c I will continue to need it. He sees us for our potential & not who we are in the moment. I guess we owe Him that much - to strive to see others for their potential, instead of their imperfections, as well.
8 years.... My Mom's sister was the first one who were taught by the missionaries in 1970s but until now shes still a non member. Pres Witt taught us in 1990 in Philippines Manila MTC that there are two kinds of gaining testimony 1. Suddent impact...and 2. Like the Gentle rain....
I feel sorry for those ignorants religious pharisees that are in constant atack. Thank you brother Alexander for sharing your testimony. Those ignorants forgot that to know the truth we had prayed to our Heavenly Father to know if The Book of Mormon and The Restoration of The Church if Jesus Christ is true. So, I did! The Holy Ghost testified it!
I am too enjoying your videos David and I already called some of my friends to check them out. Let me telling you the experience I had years back when I was stationed in Hawaii. My wife and I were prepared to seal to our children as soon as we got there. The plan was for Friday and we were ready. On early Wednesday morning like between 2 and 4 in the morning , I had a dream/personal revelation. And it went like this: It was a sunny day as I was laying on my back in an open green grass field looking up to the sky, it was so clear with no cloud in sight. I could hear someone coming from the direction where my head was. I rolled over to my stomach and on my elbows. And there came a man and how he dress was interesting because one of the Priesthood lessons' front cover, there's Daniel and his friends in Babylon. Those kind of uniforms. Anyways, this guy was walking towards me with a big huge white laundry bag on his shoulder and dropped it just in front of me to my right shoulder. Then he introduced himself to me. His name, birth place and all the details about himself{To this day I only remember his birthday, since we shared birthday but he was born 200 years before me and he was from New Jersey area} After his introductions, he then told me he had a hundred million dollars in the bag he just dropped next to me and he wanted to give it to me but couldn't. I tried to find out why he couldn't give me this bag since if he pushed it, it would hit me on my shoulder and that's how close this bag to me. I was now so greedy, he kept saying that he could not but arguing with him that he could. My being so greedy woke me up finding myself so upset and furious in the dark because it was so real. I thought about it all day while at work in Schofield Barracks. And there came Friday, we went to Laie Temple. The very name that was handing to me for endowment was this guy who introduced to me early Wednesday morning. With my heart fell, tears in my eyes and I could hear myself telling him how much I loved him.
The Evangelical Christian you played video of is no wiser than the Pharisees and Saducees that only wanted to read from the scrolls--the scriptures in their day--and completely missed the Christ, who was right in front of them. He taught in their Synagogues, healed their sick, raised the dead and became the first fruits of the promised resurrection. They couldn't see the living, breathing Son of God that those very scrolls prophecied of over and over. Unbelievable!
That is a fascinating story from that girl, because a similar thing happened to the Apostle Melvin J. Ballard in the Logan Temple. As he was sitting in the baptistry and contemplating the work for the dead, wondering whether they accepted the work done for them, "All at once a vision opened to me, and I beheld a great congregation of people gathered in the east end of the font room. One by one, as each name was baptized for, one of these people climbed a stairway over the font . . . Not one soul was missing . . . of the thousand names done that day." - Logan Temple: The First 100 Years by Nolan P. Olsen So either she had an independent confirmation of an Apostle's experience, or she found that story from a book published in 1978 and made it her own. I lean toward the former, because of experiences I had well before I knew about Elder Ballard's vision. "In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established . . ."

1 day ago David why don’t you discuss D and C 138?
Hi DexterLaura....(not sure with this is). That is a wonderful passage of scripture. And I am just barely learning most of what there is to learn. I have read the Book of Mormon...skimmed it rapidly just to get a feel for the flow of the narrative...and now am studying carefully through it slowly. I have not even read D and C or Pearl yet. I did read a few passages, including DC 138, because kind people such as you referred me to them.
But still...I am trying not to refer to the Standard Works...other than the Bible....for a very simple reason. If you look at the Title page of the videos, as the bottom...you will see this written:
"The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints...Truth Defended...from the Bible and from my own Experience".
I got it now. Thanks for clarifying.
I’m excited to see you defend the church through the Bible! I’ve already taken notes. 😂
Hey David,
Don't worry that you joined the church late in the game.
Joined in 1973,
50 yrs of magnificent blessings etc.
Served a full-time mission and 2 Family History Missions.
Love your messages, videos and testimony.
❤❤❤❤❤
Thx David for your testimony. You are a great missionary full of enthusiasm. All it took was one piece of the puzzle to say, that's it...🙂
Brother Alexander, I so love your testimony. I’m Grateful to God for his blessings upon you, and the blessings upon the rest of us from him though you to us. Never let it go. ❤️
Thank you! I love your testimony in scripture, in song, in prayer and in experience. You have been a strength to me.
Hate to say it but she cast her pearls before swine!!!
Thank you for your public testimony.❤ it’s definitely not the popular thing to publicly support The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints but when I get backlash or hate I always think that Jesus Christ wasn’t very popular in mainstream religion in His day either 😊
I think the mistake most people make is looking at our religion as not true and trying to prove it.
This is precisely what the pastors and teachers did to the young Joseph Smith. I hope that young lady continues to hold to her testimony.
Me too. i think that pastor sounded rather arrogant and not kind in Dismissing Spiritual experiences
Keep shining your Joy to the world Brother Alexander!!!
David… you are so right! Patience cannot be faked! Thank you for sharing
Not only do you have a bright countenance that comes with your life-long earned wisdom and testimony, but you sing! Thank you David!
I weep with JOY when I listen to you. Thank you for your beautiful testimony. 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷
You are an everyday missionary to all of us who are listening.
Agree but..
Hes NOT preaching... he is testifying.. awesome!
David
You getting quite the notoriety here in the US.
One of my 1st 2 missionaries worked with me for almost a FULL YEAR !
Patient, kind, gentle, persistent, delightful. Full of Saints. Not fully mature but full of saints. You are remarkable. 🌔🌓🌒🌑🌘🌗🌖🌕
Thanks David, I appreciate your testimony ! I came from the error
of my ways 55 years ago and
every day I tell God thank you !!!!
I cheerfully chopped wood
And hauled coal bucket into their homes.
It was believed that most "MORMON" boys went on missions to avoid the draft
I just figured that both a mission and .military service was in my future
I expressed my desire to go on a mission to my Grandma, who had 2 other grandsons on missions. She asked me to tell her my testimony. She was not convinced. She challenged to gain a testimony for myself. On 2 February 1971 I entered the old mission home in Salt Lake City Before the MTC. After 2 months a the LTM(Language Training Mission)learning Afrikaans
I was off to South Africa and Rhodesia.
Upon returning from Africa. I married my 1st wife, in the then joined the Army. I was one of the 1st of the all volunteers after the end of the draft
Upon returning from the service at a time when there were only 7 presidents of 70 as general aauthorities. Each stake had a 70s quorum I was set apart as a 70 by my Stake President, and served as a stake and ward missionary until October Conferance 1987 when the 70s were disbanded in the stakes and a 70 became a general Church calling and we were told to meet with the Elders
During those years I served in youth callings as well.
I again married. In the Temple in 1986 and then called as a Stake and Ward Family History specialit, my wife having a genealogy degree from BYU.
My grandparents investigated the church for quite a long time before joining.
Love how hard you work for the Lord, and the salvation of men.
Loved the musical touch. My heart is full. As Robert Millett wrote in a Church News Article titled "Christlike life: Quest is to become like Him":
Self Denial
Emulation of Christ
Transformation
‘To choose Christ is to choose to be changed’
Sanctification through the Holy Ghost enabled by His Atonement. Not there yet, put patient, persistent faith turns obstacles into stepping stones.
Love and Encouragement to all.
David, you are the essence of patience. 47 years is a long time to search, but you waited and finally found the truth. You are filled with Charity, which is the pure Love of Christ.
Hi, brother David. Thank you for your testimony, and I love the way you pray
Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
Edit, spelling of his name
th-cam.com/video/75D5UEPwP-Y/w-d-xo.html
How rare a possession.
One of my favorites.
Brother David, you are changing the world. ❤
We have long suffering towards all our brothers from any religion. Hope I am doing a great job loving them the way they deserve.
Wow, I had the exact same feeling. The Spirit was clear and I got goosebumps in confirmation of her testimony. Huzzah for Israel❣️
Happy will you be if you do them….
My dad took about 7 years . I know right. It’s like they’re being blessed by the fruits of the spirit but are not bearers of that fruit. Interesting 🤨
It's even funnier that he specifically points out that this "miracle" happened in separate unconnected places and to unrelated people, but doesn't think we might go "hmmm, maybe there's something to it then." 😶
I really enjoy listening to you and your testimony
What a wonderful comment!! Bless you in your baptism, and stick with David to maintain your enthusiasm. He IS truly a Godsend of just another saint BUT he does as Paul says to do and preaches from the house tops -like we all should in every way we can!! Forgive me, Lord, right now I’m a David Alexander addict! I thrive in his enthusiasm. Coupled with his all along background of being an eEvanglical pastor, “ Yes! This is how they ALL ought to do! And wake up and simply be HUmBLE!
Thank you for this. I love your sincerity. I will do my best to exercise patience more. God bless you ❤
Thank you Brother Alexander, for your strong testimony. It builds and strengthens mine and I am grateful to know your story. As well as have your unique perspective.
Thank you for your songs❤
"But it's there and it's real."
Yes. You are seeing with the clarity of charity.
The peace in your gaze is powerful.
We need you, David! Keep doing what you are doing!
It’s so interesting to me that this pastor can have such thick scales over his eyes. I think it’s pride that kept him from listening to that 14 year old girl. He is the one who can’t humble himself.
Yeah the Pastor practically said "Don't believe your lying eyes."
❤this gave me so much hope❤ thank you for all your kind and patient support ❤ " Now if there is no resurrection, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them? (1 Corinthians 15:29)
You know, as a church member who has struggled with depression, it was nice to hear you say, you're imperfect but you're still amazing,
Thank you Brother for sharing your knowledge, wisdom, and most importantly your Testimony. You are actively engaged in doing the Lords work and he will bless you for it.
God speaks to our spirit! We are his children. This breaks my heart to hear this is being preached in Evangelism 😢
Thank you for your light and testimony. Love you, brother!
…the joy just bubbles over…
So beautiful. Thank you.
Thank you Brother David for this episode and for your testimony!
Thank you for sharing your testimony and your stand for truth. You are a very knowledgeable man with the Bible. Im glad I found your channel
You have a gift of articulating and expressing these truths in a beautiful way.
love you brother David
The joy of watching your videos is out of this world. That’s what I call joyous. Joyful and loving are the characteristics of happy patient peculiar people who are walking on the straight highway of holiness. Isn’t that great!!
Love your testimony and light. I just started following you.
Boy did I need to hear this today. Thank you for assisting and bringing patience and forgiveness to my spirit this morning after some disturbing conflict I experienced earlier in the morning. You are a wonderful example of teaching an old dog new tricks (I’m the old dog, not you 😂)
Thanks for sharing, keep on sharing more people need to Know, I am a covert too for 28 years now, I understand and get you , keeping trying , thanks.
How can anyone hear your prayer and not be pricked. You help me live God and others better!
Love these videos!! So happy for you... may we all glory in the Lord!!
Thank you 🙏🏻
Bless you brother for your testimony
David I first heard u on Cwic. You really stood out to me. I'm ex-mo of about forty years. I've also watch Mormon stories. What strikes me about that is these people recount very positive experiences of childhood and for some reason quit. Myself I had problems with members and some of the policies and practices of the church. But this is America and a person's right to freedom of religion which is one the principles this country was on.
"Myself I had problems with members and some of the policies and practices of the church." i.e. a lack of patience. You still have time.
David you have gentled so much in the past month. Growth rings ....
Her vision was good, it could only have come from God.
Just really love your messages!!
Thank you l appreciate you l love what you say 😢😊
I'm hearing and love your testimonies and also I love your song we are peculiar people happy people
Please refrain from using the word “just” too much. I know you came by it honestly. I too came out of the evangelical movement.
You just did it again!
Great message.
Amazing testimony

I cannot believe this guy has been witnessed to THREE times about baptisms for the dead and he still won’t believe!
We know that we have passed from death into life because we love the brethren😊😊😊
Olsen
So either she had an independent confirmation of an Apostle's experience, or she found that story from a book published in 1978 and made it her own. I lean toward the former, because of experiences I had well before I knew about Elder Ballard's vision.
"In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established . . ."
E. C., thanks for sharing that story. I had never heard that before. It is very interesting.
