@gan9e you are right! Unbalanced cables are great for shorter distances and usually comprise of 2 wires inside. Balanced usually have 3 and are better for travelling longer distances without interference!
Un balanced are usually louder too, and balanced cables sound cleaner but usually need more power compared to un balanced. Un balanced for shorter runs and balanced for longer runs Balanced for less interference If you dont have a lot of power from your amp and you dont have much issues with interference and the connection is short , then this is where unbalanced would be better than a balanced connection. If you have a powerful PA system which involves long cable runs with the least amount of interference as possible then XLR (balanced) would be best for you, so they both have different uses.😊
