Thanks!
Love the white coupes
When the cawl hammer comes out to play the professional are in the house.
I've been hunting for the 19 lbs C&L housing for 3 years... not available anywhere.. thanks for the info...my hunting days are over...I took off all the emissions and cats my 89 and tried a few different IAC motors . (non-oem) for my idle issues. My cold air intake has really hard rubber tubes so it can hold up the weight of the stock housing ..it's massive !!! Check the band clamps often too..they seem to loosen up with heat cycles...l still have the cold air intake but that pulls cold air through the fender , not under the hood..
Had a C&L on my 90GT back in 2005. Can confirm, C&L’s are junk.
I assumed solely by the title of the video that it was going to be an MSD distributor. I have seen so many of those fail out of the box.
I had a horrible lean issue with a MAF from BBK. Swapping to a Pro-M took care of the issue
Back in the day we thought the C&L was top notch, so when I had the chance to pick up a used one I did, was on the car a couple days and it ran like a bag of crap so off it came!!
Thanks for the MAF tip. I’ve been chasing a rough idle. Did timing, new plugs, wires, cap and rotor. New IAC and base idle reset. No improvement. Cleaned my stock Ford MAF and totally smooth. Thanks again.
Speed density for the win! 😉
Great info on the fix for idle hunting!
I've never liked those C&L meters at all. I have used Pro-M meters on every Fox I've ever owned or built.
Love the air filter on that car… someone was giving me shit online about mine… it’s 90’s period correct… it really can’t be any worse than that hot air intake that came with my son’s car when he bought it… that tube got really hot and all of the Crome was flaking off 😂
Wow.Just checked mu build sheet for my 94 GT and i see a new C&L 24# 70 mm mass air meter was installed to compliment the recipe.
I have c&l meter on a couple of my cars. Mine never would never run right with an open filter. Stock box ran perfect. Found out a couple years ago they require a different tube when you run an open filter.
MAF - I wonder if the MAF itself went bad? Window run channels.... I get the opportunity to do that on my 91 Project - and it had 7 layers of paint/primer
Did you think to thoroughly clean the c&l first,I had a drivability issue as well, but with the stock mass air sensor cleaned it all the way around, then it ran like a champ
This one was clean as a whistle
C&L meters were junk then and still junk today.
Gotta agree, based on my personal experience
Yes they were, Pro-M meters are what you want and were top notch.
American muscle bought C&L and I know because of this, they do not support the interchangeable injector size "tubes" anymore. Never owned one to this day not sure if they ever really worked, but calibrated mass airs without a tune are pretty useless.
Just freaking awesome, project Frostbite is coming along nicely, those run channels do suck, and why do
some aftermarket parts are great and some are totally garbage.
I had a C&L on my poorly running car for years. Probably the reason.
It was on my 89 waaaay back when
Them MAF sensor can cause all kinda stupid problems
I never used one but there coupe ran high 9's and won some nmca races weather they used their own parts i don't know.
Question what state are you located in? Do you work on the verts?
Im going crazy figuring out my fox. 20 over 302, ecam, trick flow 170 heads, efi, and im super lean at idle, fine while driving, and vacuum is around 12 but climbs if i bring up the rpm. Anyone have any ideas? Im really losing my patience with this thing.
What is the A/F?
From my experience. It probably needs a tune. Also wouldn’t hurt to have the injectors cleaned and tested to make sure they are in spec. I recommend people to go stand alone. as far as holley or fitech. You have a ton of more support. and if you plan on making big power down the road.
