I love your humor, stamina, determination, & love of wife to do all this. Great job and thank you for making it time lapse & easy/enjoyable to watch.!! PS...lucky wife.!!!
I never ever (to my shame, I guess) comment anymore but today I have to! Chad - WOW!!! Seriously. What an incredible transformation you made!! I cannot wait for more in this series!! :) Jack, U.K.
I'm impressed but not by the transformation. I'm impressed that #1 u listened to ur wife's wish for a party #2 u cared enough to make it happen. Fellows... Pay attention. This is what a girl wants! Beautiful job all around 👍
I honestly wish more channels were this honest and well put together. This is realistic...a lost Art! The back yard and all its trimmings look fantastic! Thank you!
Lmao, I was dying of laughter at the voice over while Chad was toppled over a fallen chair with no energy!!!😂😂😂😅😅 I've been binge watching DIY home improvement videos and stumbled across this one and was pleasantly surprised by how funny he is! Also, it looks great and inviting!!!🌱🌾🌻
OMG legit had a palpitation when Chad opened the back gate...I thought he was at my house LMFAO. Kudos to him for a video (and garden work) well done! (Happy Belated Birthday!) Some of those plants are in fact weeds (the yellow and the purple that smells like garlic chives), but they can be very tricky to tell. The choice of music, humour, video angles, voice tonality...I know Chad is professionally trained in this but I really appreciate the details.
Really liked this video! I enjoyed the editing, it was more like a short film than a TH-cam video. It was super satisfying to see all those weeds gone!
This video unfolded like a fictional story. I was so engaged by watching & listening to each moment with interest. Loved the editing, humor, music, outcome... All of it! So Much Fun! More Please!
Awwww....Chad is nesting. How cute. lol Seriously though, an amazing transformation.. Would love to see more video's like this one for sure. Happy Birthday Melissa..
DEFINITELY want to see more Honey-Do videos! They're just great. The gentle tones and explanations, and the good video quality, is nice. Thanks for sharing this with us.

OMG! Chad this is all the things I never knew I needed in my life. Funny, informative...you did such a great job transforming the backyard.PLEASE PLEASE make this a regular thing on the channel
pretty freaking amazing. Very well done, engaging, comedic and Useful too! I found some of the inspiration I need to work on some original ideas fo my outdoor area. Keep up the great work!
A stitch in time saves nine, that's the story of my Life! So I really felt you at the beginning. Now, I am trying to repeat this phrase to myself over and over again every time I am trying to put off doing things. Even the dishes! It's not easy when you have to battle depression.
This brought tears to my eyes!!! What a transformation! You did an amazing job! Wow! Thank you for posting this. Many others would have been overwhelmed by the weeds and just gave up. Great video! Love the orange chairs
Quick makeover which looks really good. If you want to reduce time maintaining the garden in the future, I suggest you carry out the following preventative measures: scrape back the gravel and lay down a weed suppressing membrane. Good quality membranes should last at least ten years, let the water drain away, but suppress weed growth. There is a common garden saying one year of seeds leads to seven years of weeds, blocking out the light with a membrane should stop any weed seeds sprouting under the gravel, without the use of chemicals. Even vinegar could cause problems if it leaches into the groundwater and affects your neighbours gardens. Replace the gravel over the membrane and top it up with extra gravel, around 2 to 3 inches in depth should stop any weeds growing in it. If you use the same membrane on the flower beds you can cut holes in it to plant your plants, cover the membrane with a decorative mulch, slate chippings look good, or bark chips. You need to paint the deck soon to make sure it does not start to deteriorate. Word of warning, you chose the top two plants: hostas and delphiniums, which slugs and snails like to eat. Hostas like shade and to be kept damp at all times, so they may need watering in the summer. Delphiniums need to be staked to stop them falling over. I suggest you might want to use herbs such as rosemary, thyme, sage and related flowers such as salvias in future as they can thrive in dry soil with little maintenance. Lots of scent and flowers, plus you can use them in the kitchen. Keep as much of the bare soil in the flowerbeds covered at all times, either using ground cover plants or a mulch. Keeping it covered reduces weed growth and limits moisture loss so you won't need to water as much. I used to commute several hours a day so I made sure to learn how to maintain my garden with minimal effort, hope this information can help you
Helen P Absolutely! 👍 Try "Gazanias", they are very easy to grow. They tolerate drought, heat and grow in most soils. They like full sun and bloom un white, yellow, pink, orange and red. Good luck! Love from Spain 💃
I love your style of storytelling. This video was so interesting, l had to watch it all without just going to the end for the reveal. I have absolutely no idea why there are any thumbs down. Great looking yard. Love the orange pops of color with the blue.
That was really brave of you chad to use the orange color, I would definitely be too scared to try out something like that. but I REALLY love it. Good job
Any plant you don't want in your yard is a weed, according to my grandfather anyway. Unfortunately for me, if it weren't for the weeds, I wouldn't even HAVE a green lawn.
Love the whole transformation and the fact that I smiled and laughed all through the video made me want to tackle my backyard. Thanks Chad - excellent!
This is what you call a "million dollors " hubby.loved your input and output.keep up the good work.love and best wishes from india.i hope that my hubby could learn atleast half of your kinda hardwork.hahaahaaa....nice to watch.
Although you may be a great decorator, your real talent lies in transforming the mundane into something someone would sit and listen to for a spell. RC
Hey Melissa! I looked through you videos but I couldn't find anything. Is there ANYTHING that will get rust stain out of granite? Also I've noticed that the area around the sink looks stained as well. HALP! This video was fun!
Thanks for sharing! Love the backyard and deck makeover! You rocked it! 👍👍. What an awesome birthday present for your wife! Happy wife, happy life! lol!
My grandma classifies weeds as native plants growing where you don't want them to. So if you didn't like roses they could be weeds. If you like the plants keep them. This doesn't apply for bind weed that murderous bastard.
Oh man, this is so pleasing. It's a small space so weeding it makes a huge IMMEDIATE change. 5 hours in one day is a lot but if you weeded half an hour every couple of days over the months of neglect you had, it's really nothing. It's a really doable makeover and I loved it. One piece of advice, being that your yard is small but that shouldn't stop you from enjoying all of it, except it's current layout is very divided. That deck separates so much. I'd open the deck to the back (another stair perhaps?) something to connect the two distinct spaces. I know, I know that costs money.
I just start to watch your videos by chance but Woow I m already addicted to them I love managing house I always look for new ideas and your videos are great for me...
I wasn’t expecting this video to be as entertaining as it was! This man has a very charming personality and he did a great job with this project!

I love that you rehabbed your existing furniture! We have become too much of a throw away society. Great job!!
This is like a meditation, you sound so soothing and then every ocd cleaner's dream seeing something dirty/overgrown to beautiful and clean.

Good choice painting the chairs a bold orange. Made such a difference.
those orange chairs are inspired! I didn't think orange would be a good idea, but weirdly enough, they bring the whole thing together. Wow!
Very nice! Don't forget to mulch the garden beds. More honey doos please!
That's a good heads-up - thanks for watching!!!
I absolutely loved watching this video. The commentary and editing was straight fire 🔥🔥

I appreciate the added sounds thank you VERY much. Very nice. (Spraying, water, etc.)
Very good job. Any person that takes 5 hours of their time to solely rip weeds up is the man. 👍
Quick makeover which looks really good.

This video was so fun, it looks really good but Chad has a great sense of humor and made it super fun to watch
Very beautiful. Your use of colour has made the garden pop. The orange and blue really look great
Excellent, excellent. Beautiful transformation, nice touches of humor, inspirational to boot! Well done sir, thank you.
LOL! Love your style. If you saw the size of my yard and the weeds I had you could not believe it.
If you mulch the flower beds, it will significantly reduce the amount of weeds.
Well I am still watching as I type but so funny he sat in that laid down chair lol
Absolutely beautiful transformation. The orange really paid off!!
I love your style of storytelling. This video was so interesting, l had to watch it all without just going to the end for the reveal. I have absolutely no idea why there are any thumbs down. Great looking yard. Love the orange pops of color with the blue.
Many LOL moments. Good stuff! Nice transformation.
That was really brave of you chad to use the orange color, I would definitely be too scared to try out something like that. but I REALLY love it. Good job
my thoughts exactly,,,,,,I made a face when he painted it, but it LOOKS fantastic!
It looks amazing. I think the orange chairs add a pop of color to all the blues. Chad you did a great job
Duuude!! You are hilarious... I love your balance of hard work/ frugality/ bold color choices! 🖒
Perfect!....Love this backyard!...It is just the right size, even the side walkway, the deck, everything!...Great job!
Any plant you don't want in your yard is a weed, according to my grandfather anyway. Unfortunately for me, if it weren't for the weeds, I wouldn't even HAVE a green lawn.
We have the same problem with our front lawn - that's why we removed all the grass in the backyard a few years back!
This guy made gardening so relatable ! 😂
YO!!! Where is the BEST part..... When your Lady Fare sees what you did for her! (I feel cheated)! lol. : )
Love the whole transformation and the fact that I smiled and laughed all through the video made me want to tackle my backyard. Thanks Chad - excellent!

Chad how much you make me laugh, this is a work of love, God bless you and your home guys!!!
How can developers cram houses together like that and expect a nice quality of life? You walk outside and 10 homes are BAM! in your face.
Who wants to sit out back with the whole neighborhood staring at ya. So much for privacy.
I'm gonna try to listen to weed pulling music you guys😂😂🤷🏽♀️😁
