How has this guy played Luke Skywalker, one of the most iconic hero's of all time and yet can play the Joker (arguably one of the most iconic villains) and do it so amazingly well?!
There aren't many actors that can feasibly & believably pull off roles for both iconic heroism & depraved villainy but Mark does it well. One of the few others was George Burns, in one movie played the part of God & in another (the sequel) played both God & the Devil. In an interview George was asked how he felt about playing the duel role. His reply was something to the effect that he's hit the highest role & the lowest role & really had no other place to go or any further expectations for his career. 😉 In Mark's case, he's played an instrumental focal point for saving the galaxy from tyranny & also played part as one of the most twisted & depraved villains in comic book history. Sure, he has a ways to go to equal what George Burns played, but George has been in the entertainment business since the days of traveling vaudeville shows & successfully navigated the transitions to radio, then TV...Very few of those performers could adapt through it all. Mark still has some time left to him, ya' know. 😁

Hamill's is definitely closer to the comic Joker, but if they were to write a Joker in the comics that acted like Ledger's, I'd probably read it in Ledger's voice, but it would be a much different Joker than what they currently have in the comics. Like, Hamill's (and the current comic Joker) is more psychotic, you can easily say he's losing touch with reality (the clown/carnival motifs everywhere, which are much more pronounced than Ledger's simple use of the makeup). I love how he sits back after the laugh and knows he's the shit.
I realize everyone, every generation, has their own Batman and Joker. But Mark Hamill is mine. I got chills just listening to him recite these lines. There have been some fantastic Jokers over the years along with different interpretations and I think it speaks volumes to his talent and skill that you don't even need to see the Joker visually, you just have to hear Mark play him.
Man, Hamill looks in amazing shape! CANNOTWAIT for 8!
The way he just slipped into the Joker is so satisfying x
Man, the audience was so silent when he gave the monologue!
He does it so effortlessly......he needs an award
Got my tickets to see The Killing Joke on the 25th.
lucky you
Me too.
I pre purchased mine too, but It screens in Australia on the 24th.
Jake Andersen Lucky you.
...you should've gone 40 minutes late but oh well it's too late now.
That laugh at the end.....creepy, yet pure gold
“When I thought joker was over” for you, never!
Most voice actors you can tell who they voiced just by their normal speaking voice. But Hamill really has a unique spin on the joker voice that you just can believe its him until you see him do the voice in person. And even then you just have to watch it over and over again because its just that good. And the laugh man, wow.
When he speaks in his normal voice I can still hear the Joker.
The way his voice says “And memories “ at 2:10 gives me chills
*A long time ago in a dark city far far away...*
💖 *MARK "The Joker" HAMILL* 💖
The casting for the animated cartoons (Batman TAS, Superman TAS, JL, JL Unlimited) was just damn perfect. Every one of them had perfect voices for their characters.
How could even Alan Moore think Mark Hamill is not the perfect Joker.
That laugh at the end is legendary
I would like to hear him say lines from the Cristopher Nolan films
That laugh from mark Hamill will always be impressive and amazing
If Hamill's voice was just imbedded in Leto's body. That would be the absolute quintessential JOKER.
Mark is one of the biggest gift's of our time.
greetings
Tommy
I can listen to that laugh all day
I still get the goosebumps every time I hear that laugh. Absolutely iconic
he looks like he's in jedi shape!
Ain't that the truth, James?! :-)
I don’t get how people can dislike this but it really shows how ridiculous humans can be hating for no reason
I could listen to Mark read anything in his Joker voice lol
BRUH I HAD GOOSEBUMPS WHEN HE STARTED THE VOICE AND MEGA GOOSEBUMPS WHEN HE ENDED WITH THAT LAUGH!! xO
