There's something so raw and genuine that comes from Conan's interviews you dont get from anyone else. He's one of the best to ever do it.
Then I need to ask if you watch many different interviewers?. I find these to be a bit 50/50 with the celebrity blowing smoke up asses kind of demeanor. There's a more corporate mindset he still has from years doing his show. I don't dislike these but if you look at these and see him as one of the most raw kind of podcast interviewers I feel that must be coming from a place of ignorance as there are so many deep dive interview podcasts around now.

@austinabril7 I think he paid the salaries of his workers after he left the Late Show and helped relocate them as well for the Conan show as well 🙂
This was recorded in October, so he was probably dying to talk about his Kojima collaboration, but couldn't yet.
MadTV was so long ago, never would have imagined Jordan coming this far to become an accomplished filmmaker.
I could tell who had promise.

key and peele is one of the funniest shows of all time.. Peele is such a great comedic actor
Chappelle keeps saying, on effect, they "stole" his show. Perhaps, but he has little room to bitch given he ran off for nearly a decade.
That he actually says that (I don't know if he believes it) is pretty unbecoming. Both shows are sketch comedy,sure but Key and Peeles skits are more innovative and less meanspirited. Saying "Key and Peele did his show every night." Isn't really a reflection of the truth and the comedy they put out,Dave was very bitter.

@@wildboy6718you could say that about any comedy sketch shows only so much you could do before it gets repetitive and resembles other sketch shows the difference is all three were black comedians so they could pull off more controversial black topics that's why they might of seemed like identical shows

I hope he gets to a place where he realizes that he can be both gifted director and hilarious comedian. His energy on Speakeasy was so infectious, it'd be a shame to lose that.

I hope you gt to a place where you realize that not everything is up to you and stop projecting your own expectations on other people. It's HIS life, his career, his choice, not yours. He doesn't need to perform just because people like you ''need'' him, if he's out then he's out, at least for time being.

Jordan Peele is an amazing comedic actor, and actor, period. It would be a shame if we never saw him in front of a camera again.

But seriously, I get worse than that when I'm tired. Maybe he's just tired, or going through something. It really feels like a very odd interview. He's not fully there.
I think he might just actually be like that. I watch lots of interviews of novelists, and in their company he wouldn't seem weird or off or anything. Just a very intelligent artist.

One of my favorite things is to watch Weird Al's White and Nerdy song and, when Key and Peele show up, they're like, "omg, is that Key and Peele!?"
At least the magic was filmed. I’ll certainly never tire of the key and peele stuff. I kind of wish he did the interview in Meegan’s voice.

Jordan Peele, after the success of Get Out, signed a massive deal with Universal to crank out movies and earn the shekels asap. Get Out was a decade long passion project for Peele, whereas Nope and Us were rushed messes. So it will be interesting to watch for his next project and see if he has another decent movie in him.
Just now noticing the Us sweatshirt haha I’m glad that Get Out was such a hit but I think it stole some of Us’ spotlight.
Love Jordan, but that whole interview needs to be redone. There's something off about it.

Jordan seems more relaxed and reserved now as compared to his sketch comedy days where he is more outspoken and excitable. Perhaps the new role he has taken up, to be behind the camera rather than in front; and to be the creator rather than the created, gave him a different perspective to adjust the way he behaves now.
I feel like the offness people are feeling is just the absence of Keegan. Or maybe it's just that he stopped smoking weed

Jordan Peele just seems like he knows he offended someone somewhere and is expecting them to yell at him out of the blue at any time. Such a strange affectation.
The imposter syndrome is real.
He seems detached or like he feels the need to separate himself from the comedic version of himself that we've grown to know and love in order to be taken seriously or to be legitimate. I get this feeling when I see Childish Gambino as well. I love both of them, but there is something slightly off-putting about it.

I suggest people watch him in an interview with Keegan on Conan’s show. Jordan’s cadence is entirely different. It’s like he’s a different person. Strange
You never get shy around celebrities? The guy is shy cause everything he’s saying is being recorded, he’s in front of Conan-kinda a legend-and he can’t say too much without spoiling future projects.

It really isn't such a bad thing, bro. Jordan seems aloof and somewhat depressed. I think these comments just show how people can have empathy for another human being when they're showing concerning behavior.
I don't see anyone mad here. But it's hard for an interview with Conan to be that bad, this has nothing to do with a desire that the man is the same as the character. I wonder if Jordan has insecurities and issues similar to my own, I'd be 10 thousand times worse than him in that situation.

I feel like Conan did Jordan a disservice by bringing up Ricky Gervais like that. I'm a bit surprised Conan is so out of touch. You've got to ask yourself if he's surrounded by older comedians who resent young people and if he thinks it's normal to dismiss people's distaste for right wing "I'm being canceled" comics. He exposed Jordan to all these racist commentators and gave them ammo... Matt was so much more on the ball during this.
