Pollux, M+R Battery, Alvin brass and Blackwing Longpoint. Is one of these the best new sharpener?

- In this video I review and compare 3 new sharpeners M+R Pollux Sharpener, M+R Battery and the Blackwing Longpoint pencil sharpener two step sharpener. I also compare those to the two that I have that I have been using the most: the Derwent Longpoint and the Alvin/M+R Bullet.

the Blackwing Long Point is actually just a KUM pencil with a blackwing logo stamped on it
The one step long point is different than the Alvin/KUM bullet.
The M+R Pollux is THE BOMB sharpener........my super fave. I have an obsession with sharpeners and get annoyed when they tear up my expensive pencils, but this one is just fabulous!! No comparison...German made sharpeners are the way to go IMO.

You personality is charming. It is ok to be long-winded. The sharpeners all look nice especially the Derwent. To save my hands I bought an electric sharpener that takes six sizes of pencils.

Your cats are pretty. I like my TGAAL Sharpener, but the Blackwing might be good for the Tombow Irojiten pencils.
+Graces Coloring Corner I have that one. I’m not fan mainly because you can’t replace the blade. 🤔 but I like that you can use it to make blunt ends. But yeah I don’t recommend that one if people ask because of that blade issue. You can make a blunt end with the round brass sharpener from M+R. But that’s a little more of a hack as that’s not how it’s intended to be used.
Where can I get longer-than-normal replacement blades for M+R Castor and Pollux pencil sharpeners?
No trace of them neither on Amazon nor on Google in general.

Have you tried the hand-crank model by Helix. Like the Derwent hand-crank, but you can choose how sharp/long you want your point. I have very, very little experience compared to you, but I really like it.

I WAS TOLD TO ALWAYS TURN THE SHARPENER NOT THE PENCIL. WAS I FOOLED?
No. That’s just a different way to do it. The thing is that a lot of people jam that pencil into the sharpener and are too forceful or aggressive with it. Some people find that turning the sharpener addresses that. But if you can GENTLY turn the pencil without jamming it in there is should be fine provided you have a good pencil and a sharp blade.
