Hi davie this pattern shows you are the master of materials. Tight lines

Another masterpiece from Master Davie. Cadisses are my favorite flies as you know. In the Čech Republic we have about 250 (!!) different cadisses, therefore they are the best.
As always tight lines 🎣 from the Čech Republic 🇨🇿.

The pale feather you showed us looks remarkably similar to duck feathers I have collected while walking my dog!
Was wondering what I might use em for! Now I know! Thanks!

    What a great looking caddis.
Just tied a couple of lines of these. The only tricky bit is getting the wing feather to divide equally on each side of the hook, but it's doable. For #16 and smaller it works well with those small partridge breast feathers. As an alternative body base that really floats, floating pp chenille works brilliantly.

I dont know how to leave cdc fibers loose on my desk. They blow away if I breath. I drop them in a jar. For dubbing. You did a great job again as usual.

That is probably the most brilliant, realistic caddis patterns I’ve ever seen. I absolutely love that. Now to try that in a 14 or 16. Do have the Great Autumn sedge coming up. That’s a 12 or 10. Thank you thank you!!!!!

Did enjoy it, Davie... thank you.
Have you ever tied any of G.E.M. Skues flies... the ones he evolved nymph/emerger patterns for? Seems like they are similar to James Leisenring's flymphs. I think Leisenring corresponded with Skues... felt Skues was quite right about the fly type.

What a fantastic looking fly. Loved the waxing the underside of the wing feathers. Are there any other feathers you could use to represent other sedge flies, eg the Grouse Wing Caddis or is that getting too fussy. Thanks

Nice easy caddis; I like to hear you say; just use the feathers we have on hand. I suspect this caddis is a good fish catcher, no matter
the color of the feathers. Thank you Davie; for giving us confidence to tie any fly. Do you tie a fly using the cock pheasant “church
    window” feathers?

Davie, great fly. Is there a particular advantage in using these wing feathers over just using some more cdc feathers?

    • @DavieMcPhail
      @DavieMcPhail  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jon Allen,
When you fish these flies and you see them on the river or on the loch they look so real and move like a real caddis, it is the wing that makes this happen,. I would certainly recommend having some in your box and I'm glad you like it..
      All the very best Davie..
