    My usual work flow when it comes to things like this is the following : I duplicate the background layer and select the items, buildings etc. I want in front and then press Ctrl + I to invert the selection and the press Delete (don't forget to add a transparency channel). Now I have 3 layers in the following order : Foreground, Text, Background.
    This way i have my font intact and I can later resize it, move, change etc. and i don't have to remake the selection and delete it every time.
    If you don't understand, please ask and I will be happy to further explain.
    Hope this helped :)

    This is very informative tutorial. I have been struggling with PS 10 elements for ages. I've never heard of Gimp before or Inkscape. Which version do you recommend? Thanks for info

    Thanks for this easy to follow tutorial. Just two question: why you don’t “delete” (for Windows) after “enter” when you did the outline in the second part of Line of Skyline whereas you “enter” and “delete” and the dejected text disappears behind the building?
    Can I still replicate your steps here in the latest version 2.10.32?

    Nick, I have been seeing your InkScape Tutorials... and I was wondering. How do you open your filed with Thumbnail.png? When i open them it open to Windows Photo Viewer

    could you do this in inkscape?

    • @LogosByNick
      @LogosByNick  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, several different ways. For one, you could convert the text to a path then use the Bezier pen to draw a shape cutting out the buildings. Then use Path -> Difference on the text.
