I've always liked the idea of the DMG104 ever since retrohai introduced it, but I tried contacting him to buy one but he didn't reply, so obviously didn't want the business.

Currently building one of these and let me say, it is HARD to find any info on what you need to build this thing (or even how). You're basically just taking screenshots/showcase videos and reverse-engineering them to solve one question. I literally took a video of Retrohai showing off his clear DMG 104 and This Does Not Compute's DMG 103 showcase video (also made by Retrohai) and went to the drawing board. With the amount of wires to solder for the buttons, power switch, volume control, USB connector, and cartridge slots; it's a lot and sometimes it just doesn't work (I killed 3 DS boards until I figured out what I was doing wrong). While it's not a "hard" mod to do (just tedious and time consuming), I do miss the days where I thought soldering 2 speaker wires to a PCB for a DMG IPS mod was "hard"
if you ever want to get started on building electronics then you should look into building an Atari punk console (a small analog synth). its a beginners project that you can do on a breadboard (a prototype board that requires no soldering) and requires very little components.
Now you need an Ace DS Flashcart from Ali-Express. Just look for a multi cart that takes a SD card. Great for English translations like Retro Game Challenge 2 and Gameboy/Gameboy Color Emulation. I think it's like ten dollars or sixteen or something. It's worth it. Especially for something like this.
Idk this looks terrible. I’m sorry but it look ridiculous and I think it’s just better to play on a ds lite and aswell the fact that you have to press hard on buttons and dpad and the shoulder buttons being in a really bad place and not being bumper an ms instead virtual boy buttons are a dealbreaker. On top of this it’s 12x the price of a ds lite. And it does the exact same thing but just worse so no.
is this item available as a mass produced device i would love one it so flexible gameboy, gb advance and ds in one. id get one for £120 on amazon and its all back lit with old titles which i would really want, without squinting and adjusting the position of my gameboy so i can see what the hell is going on.

If a contractor doesn’t want to bid on a job, they still bid, but they bid high enough to make sure it’s worth their time. Same concept here. If someone wants it for $1,200, then fine I’ll sell it. But otherwise it’s not worth it to me to sell it right now. It’s in no way disrespectful to anyone lol, it’s business.
Even if it was perfect condition, which it’s not because of the issues you’ve addressed, it’s not worth near what you’re asking. $500 seems more in-line for the dmg-104.
