Installing Yakima 54" Tracks with Prinsu Top Rack Mounting Feet and Crossbars on My 3rd Gen Tacoma

- This is the first of three videos from my rack installation series. In Episode 1 of this series I install Yakima 54" Tracks with CapNuts on my SnupTop Rebel. The tracks allow you to mount roof racks to your camper shell. This camper shell has a thicker roof/top for reinforced strength. Next, in Episode 2, you'll see me install the Prinsu Top Rack. Finally, in Episode 3, I install the Prinsu Cab Rack and complete my 3rd Gen Tacoma rack installation. Next, I will be mounting my new rooftop tent!

A good trick to get it centered is it to measure the middle of your cross bars and mark it, put it on top, take a string and tape it to the cap's antenna on center, draw it over the rack and to your third brake light on the cap, measure the center of the light and then just align the marks from your cross bars.
Did you have any issue drilling through your headliner?
FYI the yakima white washer u mention at 7:36 goes on the outside of the topper, under the track, not inside as u mention. GL!
Have you had any issues with leaks since you did the install?
Hey great video. I have a question. I have the same snug top and I was wondering what length of bolt did you go with to get all the way through?
I used 1 1/2” or 2” 10-32 bolts for the roof tracks to go through the snug top

Hey what’s up! The Yakima tracks will definitely work with your camper. But I would check with prinsu about the top rack fitting your truck. It might and they probably make a too rack for your truck too

I didn’t mean it as a put down. Most people who look at instructional videos want to learn tips and procedures so they can do it right. It’s hard to do that with loud music on. Just my opinion. Good luck.
