Some people hate her because she's too bold. I personally like her sportmanship, she ALWAYS congratulates nicely at the net whether she wins or loses. Here we see Sabalenka tried to be not so happy in front of Iga (because we all know what happened in her match with Sakkari).
Proud of Iga performance: she played smart and was able to counter Sabalenka brute force in an elegant way. For now, it's fine... in the future, she has to massively improve her serve, and develop a flat strong forehand, but she's only 20 and her potential is incredible. Jazda magica Iga... my sweet genius baby!
It was tough watching because I really like both of them and, because Sabalenka has Depression issues and Iga's crying the last time touched me. But someone had to win: Congrats, Aryna on this win, but you also, Iga, for making the WTA finals.

On the match of Sakkari and Iga, i saw Iga cried when having a handshake, and after this match, i can now fell her emotion. Good match of Aryna and so sympathise for Iga
Finally good to see Iga self-motivated and playing good tennis (since Rome) in the 3rd set. Which is happening very occasionally these days. And no dramas 🤪Well done 👏🏻 Love the spirit of Sabalenka!
High octane match. First time I am seeing Sabalenka getting so much crowd support. The crowd was one sided against her in match against Leylah at US open SF. Like both Iga and her. Since Iga has a GS already, I was hoping for Sabalenka win. Hopefully Iga will do great next year, though this year wasn't shabby, considering shr made TWA finals, won Rome masters, reached RG QF.
What an epic match. It's a pitty that Iga wasn't able to succeed eventually as she is now out of contest, however it was a completely different Iga from one that lost to Sakkari. Good luck next time
Even though these matches aren't going the way she's hoping, I hope Swiatek can take the losses and recognize this as an opportunity to fine tune her strategy against these players for next year. She will undoubtedly run into half of these players or other players with the strong flat hitting style that she struggles against. The more notches they get under their belt against her the more of a psychological hurdle this will become esp for grand slams. It seems this year has been about consistency for her, but would love to see her play with some more fire and creativity when she really doesn't have much to loose here. One thing I'll say that Sabelenka did well here was take energy from the crowd and in some situation even generate it on her own. Good skill to have now that crowds are back.
When a hard flat came, even though, they were near Swaitek, her reply were a spin sitting duck ball. Her grip is similar to Jack Sock. The racket travel with a lot of leading edge, so less string presented to the flat ball, very unforgiving, hence the sit up ball with spin, ready to be crushed in the next shot.
@@wisanu99 Yes you are right; however, Iga has to learn how to use that western grip efficiently. Sock literally has the best forehand on the tour, but the other parts of his game along with his mindset is weak. Iga has to use that grip more efficiently- it can be done. It is not hard to flatten out the ball with a western grip- it just takes practice.
These ladies are so good -- it's ridiculous the level of talent in the WTA. Swiatek got beat (again) but that girl has so much game, and hasn't hit her peak yet. Nothing's too fast for her, and she does everything well. And she still lost, because when Sabalenka is on, she can be a terror. (She also seems to choke a lot too. Reason unknown.) I get the feeling a lot of people don't like Aryna, because she is loud and seems overly emphatic on court. But she is a major slammer and flat-out dominates sometimes. Great match!!
I like both of them so didn't mind either winning. Iga started off strong but Sabalenka showed some real fight to turn things around. Often when she loses she can mentally checkout (like the Badosa match) but she didn't this time and did a great job of feeding off the crowd's energy. Iga did well to recover from the first match which left her in tears. Both Aryna and Iga have things to work on going into the next season though. Saba needs to add some variety to her game (especially when hitting the ball as hard as possible isn't working) and Iga needs to add some aggression to her game. Especially when she comes up against players like Saba who plays first strike tennis.
Kudos to Saba for struggling with confidence, but continued to go for it and somehow won. Watching this early I thought Iga had this, she looked very sad almost in tears after her first RR match, so I hope she isn’t too down. Her level when she is on is one of the highest on tour at the moment, she has a lot to be proud of in this fight.
Sabalenka seemed completely lost just like on the first match, but came back very strong for the 2nd set and she's now a alive and fighting for the title. This woman is so unpredictable
Gota say this has got to be the most electric tournament we have had all year, impressive considering they are only allowed 50 percent capcity on the upper ring. Hopefully Mexico can retain this facility and host a WTA500 event going forward.
I felt too many top seeds got knocked out to early in the US open and not many crowd support for doubles. Here the atmosphere is lit no matter who’s playing, and the quality of tennis is on another level with many nail biters going the distance. I like the round robin format as well.
Iga for me you didnt played bad at all you really improving . And i know the luck was not there for you . For sure you will come more stronger in your next match good luck .

Iga did what she always do. Her confidence always dwindles when her opponent is aggressive. Her lobs won't work on the caliber of Arynna. Iga must be feeling frustrated on her strategies. She needs a better trainer who studies the weakness of her potential opponents and apply that knowledge to Iga's training regimen. Proud of Iga's efforts but she has a lot of potential to improve her game on hard courts.
I noticed the same about her coaching, she's physically fit but her strategies are not good. I mentioned earlier this year she needs a more experienced coach and some Polish people replied saying that her coach (who happens to be from Poland) is "just perfect" and that she shouldn't change him, they don't acknowledge an all-polish-team pride will take Iga nowhere.

One minute she is beating her opponent, than the next she looks like her mind goes off somewhere else and she lets her opponent back in the game. She is no longer aggressive like she was in the past. 2021 was really a year of two halves. Prior to Roland Garros, she had won 2 tournaments, one on hard courts ( which people say is her weakness), double bagged Pliskova in the final at Rome and in Paris, made the quarters, bageling Konaveit ( remember her?) on the way. The behaviour of Aryna is limit. Screaming like she did is clearly disrespectful for the other player. This was a thrilling match and mainly a mental fight. Iga has improved is mindset but has still some work to do. I am confident that she will cope with this problem in the future. She has also to go on to adapt her game to hard court. She is on a good track. Aryna has work to do to manage her temper and to understand that tennis is not only power. I wish the best to both players.

Saba. that was impressive.! Thought you could do it.! You played like the champ you are. Love the outfit by the way.!
Thank you sabalenka
after changing to her red shirt..Sabalenka is on fire power..good entertaining match
This level of play.. amazing hitting..
...but look at the short shots she was getting.
@@AndrzejzBuffalo yes. I feel Iga's defensive loopy forehand is a liability..gives time for the opponent to set up. Serve also needs to improve
@@criticalmass500, I totally agree. Needs a coach who will be serious about it. Maybe he is, but I'm seeing no change.
@@criticalmass500 she needs to learn how to flatten out her forehand on a hard court too much spin this isn’t clay. The serve is also increasingly getting attackable she serve well in the first set but she relied too much on the kick serve for the rest of the match.
@@nickyb12345 Agree 👍
Szkoda bardzo mi ciebie Iga:-( tak niewiele zabrakło abyś to ty wygrała ten mecz...
Отличный матч. Наконец то Арина справилась с собой, хотя Сватек сильный соперник.
Gotta love Sabalenka!
Aryna getting support from the crowds. She should add a "Vamos!"
GO SABALENKA!!!!!!!!!!
congrats to both of them they did great
COME ON! I ❤️ Sabalenka. 😊
Sabalenka s got a one dimensional power game.. Still manages to win thanks to her build which generates so much power. Igas really struggling.. All she needs is clay confidence
yes iga! you're now doing great! keep it up!
Wow I wish I could’ve seen the full match cause they looked like they were getting it in.
Only big girls win, and Saba came good.
I like Sabalenka. She's fierce like a certain other 23 time major winner...Swiatek reminds me a lot of Henin on court minus the backhand swing.
How can you not be fierce when you're hitting softballs ? Anyone would.
simply awesome... :)
Guadalajara is having some great matches at night
It was a good game to watch.
Fantastic, not sure how this round robin works so can’t figure out which match up is next 🤷🏻♀️
By virtue of Aryna Sabalenka winning the match against Iga Swiatek, Paula Badosa will advance to the semifinals. Maria Sakkari & Aryna Sabalenka will contest for the remaining semifinal slot on their group on Monday. While Swiatek is already out of the contest even if she wins on her final RR match against Badosa.
Round Robin Win-Loss
Badosa 2-0
Sakkari 1-1
Sabalenka 1-1
Swiatek 0-2
What a battle!
Good win for Saba, the match against sakkari will be vital.
No photo before the match like everyone else does? Interesting.
Only sabalenka beats herself every time she loose a match.. I don't know when she will stop reacting so much when loosing
Totally agree with you! Glad she didn’t break down after the first set loss…
Вперед, Арина! Играй в красной майке!
Ей очень идёт,я согласна.И ещё выигрывай на радость твоим болела!!!
I LOVE YOU ARYNA!
