I was very intrigued by Harry Hamlin’s insightful and introspective comment, “I was a character actor trapped in a leading man’s body.” I find it refreshing and instructive that despite his sexy heartthrob image, Harry isn’t impressed or captivated by his own stardom. He sees himself as a working actor whose real passion is his work in developing aneutronic power, which is a promising component in the fight against climate change. I’m immensely grateful to this humble, sincere, generous human being who took time out of his busy schedule to appear on our show.
Agree, and I had no idea Mr. Hamlin has also done so much work in the science field- he's like the male Hedy Lamarr (gorgeous movie star/brilliant scientist).
I remember Harry from LA Law and always thought he was just adorable!! 😍 You know, every video you get the same compliment; how appreciative of the enormous research you do, and it’s so true!! You are just wonderful!
Oh Alan thank you so much. Harry is what I would call a “reluctant star”, and when he’s just being himself, he doesn’t feel the need to exude the same sexy charisma that he demonstrates in his acting. That may surprise some people, but I’m glad you appreciated his low key and humble presentation.
Never knew much about Harry until today. Only knew him from LA LAW, which I watched every season, and Mad Men, which I forgot until you mentioned it in your introduction. I always appreciate your list of accomplishments at the start of your interviews.
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 I didn't know he was so cerebral and interesting. I suppose his good looks and zany wife made me assume he is less intelligent. Thank you for your in-depth interview. I now have much more respect for him.
Terrific interview- loved how you mention Harry's heritage as a means to approach his entrance into acting. Harry was a major crush for many growing up in the 1980's, and a fine talent (he's displayed remarkable skill as an actor from his very impressive debut in "Movie Movie"). Along with his acting gifts, he's still got that great voice and looks to die for! Had no idea he also has scored major accomplishments as a scientist. Hope for continued success for Mr. Hamlin, and thanks for the great one-on-one.

Well, his wife may be outwardly “zany” but off-camera, she’s anything but.
Harry's voice in unchanged since he made Making Love. Brilliant.
So true

I really appreciate your very kind comments about this interview. Thank you so much.
Making Love is a bold movie. Homosexuality was rarely tackled on the big screen at the time.
I agree.
Will always, be grateful for Making Love Harry. It pushed me out of the closet. I am 62 now. Thank you always.
What did you think of the interview?
Hmm...he's a very reluctant celebrity. A man of few words!😁
He’s truly brilliant
