    Hey great vid! i got a question, i have a 1986 golf mk2 cl and i wonder if there is a way to turn off the lights aka parking lights and low beams, because when i change in between the light modes it goes from low beam to parking lights and then low beams again, the only way to turn them off completely is to turn off the ignition and i want that to be possible when the ignition is on.

      @@motopat06 Ok yes I see, well you have two options, 1 you buy a "normal" mk2 light switch and wiring loom that goes to the fusebox, 2 you try you see where the "key in +12v" power is coming from to the lights, then cut that power. If you need a light switch and wiring loom CE2 fusebox I have that in stock and will list it on the website if you need it.

    Dont know if @RestoDesigns will see this comment or not. But here goes I have an Mk2 with just two lights on upper part of the dash. The 3rd middle one isn't there. They are not working, I have bought new bulbs and installed but still they don't work. I was told that it might be the green foil that is broken. it did snap or tore off in one small part of the clock. I would like to ask how to fix this, if there is any way without using new foil or clocks. Cheers

    • @RestoDesignsnando
      @RestoDesignsnando  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hi there, first check what is missing +12 or -12 once you know that then it's easy, if -12 is missing then you can take earth from anywhere with a wire and solder that wire on to the bulb leg which makes contect onto the green foil. If you're missing +12 then again solder a wire from one of the other bulbs +12 and solder that to the bulb that isn't working. Hope that makes sense.

    • @Adomaster97
      @Adomaster97 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RestoDesignsnando wow, thank you for such a quick answer. I don't understand what you are talking about. I mean I understand that +12 means the electricity 1.2 ampers if I understood correctly. But I don't know how to solder, the bulbs came with their cases not just legs. Anyways, thank you but I am condemned to drive my Golf without dash lighting. Listen to the engine to change the gear and all that.
      Also none of the bulbs are working and I bought them new.
