I'm going around on youtube listening to different Metroid songs, sometimes cutting them off halfway. I stumbled upon this one. Now I'm beating the replay button.
Oh wow the Orchestrated part chilled me to the bone.. This would be a perfect opening to like Prime 4. It will be a welcoming opening to such a awesome series.
Easily the best remix of Kraid's Lair to this day, no question. The deep, powerful horns really make this one for me. I don't know why more remixers don't use horns like this very often, it really gives the track a lot of extra gravitas and oomph.
10 years later and here I am. Listening to this perfection of a cover, done by SamoStudios. I would not be surprised if you have secretly been hired by Nintendo-Retro Studios. This cover specifically could very well be in the ending credits of Metroid Prime 4
As a big metroid fan, I love this song so much. Red-Soil Brinstar and Kraid's lair go so well together here. The creepy atmosphere remains untouched. Heck, this paticular remix adds to the creepiness. Nicely done
+Sparky Dood “YouAsshole” Not really because fans take the base track that was made by the developers THEN polish it in arguably something more awesome. But, the only reason the track is better is because the developers are not willingly to develop more games lol.
Orochimaru sama Yes, but think, do you really think that in the next Smash Bros. game, or maybe even the next Metroid game, if a version of this song comes up, it'll be as good as the one here?
Absolutely beautiful. No idea where to begin. You took my theme song, Kraid's Lair, and Red Soil and made a beautiful combination and remix. Thank you.
I rarely ever hear an arrangement, orchestration, or remix of a video game theme that is as good as the source material, and you created something original in your derivation as well. Great job!
As I stated with Kraid Begins, this is one of the most iconic songs in the game, and The Crimson Depths is, incomparably one of the best remixes of any game. This masterfully (and terrifyingly) captured the mystery of exploring a hostile and unknown world. For a series that, in my opinion, pioneered Survival Horror for its atmosphere and nuanced wordless story-telling, a song like Crimson Depths breaths a life into it that I think matches or even exceeds the original composer's wishes. Amazing!
I'm yet to find a better version of Kraid's lair than this one, never managed to find a better one though, this one is able to send chills down any living being's spine, and the epic feel it have is just, just wow, it actualy makes me speechless everytime I do listen to it. Great work Sam, can't wait for more of your songs, just checked the Chrono Trigger/Cross and the Xeno Cross ones, totaly worth buying the CDs.
If I had more time, I would have asked you for a piece of music for my title project (university's last and most important exam). Whatever it is, all your work is incredible. This should be in a game, really. Amazing work!!
The best remix in my mind, i knew that a orchestrated theme would be the best theme for this, truly the best theme of kraids lair yet, outstanding work on the theme
I'm a huge fan of orchestral music, and the Metroid series in general, and I have got to say- This is one of the greatest combinations of the two I've heard in my entire life. The song you have created captures the dark and unsettling nature of original song and setting, and then goes one step further by infusing it with a highly theatrical, bombastic change over, that only adds up to me declaring that this... ...is simply the most rousing and inspired Metroid remix I've ever heard.
This is my favorite track on Harmony of a Hunter. I still get chills listening to it... Also, I've shared this wonder a few times on my college radio station- because other ears must hear this.
Wow.. This is excellent! By far the best compilation I've heard for a Metroid remix in my opinion. Captures the excitement of old memories of my game play, and displays an emotional touch in the strings. 1:36 most leave that part out of their remixes, and so glad you incorporated it and made it amazing! Nice work dude.
I have such a nagging curiosity about that chanting when the melody goes back to "Kraid's Lair," though! Is it actually saying something in some language? Because I *_swear_* I can hear the word "Chozo" in there, it's driving me nuts! And it goes without saying that this piece is utterly amazing. So cinematic! Those strings really take the elegance of the source material to a new level. And those little obviously-machine-made noises are a sweet contrast and a great _Metroid_-y touch. Your music is beautiful, sir/madam. An impressive feel befitting a giant reptilian monster rising up from the depths. Long live _Metroid_.
Considering this was very likely made with choral sample libraries, I'm guessing that they're simply an assortment of recorded syllables (that's how most vocal sample libraries work).
@TheWaste0Time Hehe thank you, I'm glad you liked my song! I'm working on another kinda dark Super Metroid piece at the moment, this time of Maridia :)
This is amazing! I'm going to have to improve in my song writing skills to even come close to this. Thank you for setting a good example for my song writing skills. You will help me become a better musician in the long run. I appreciate your contribution to the world with this art.
WOW. This makes me wanna hook up the old snes i have and just bust through the game blasting this on the 12 speaker system i have laying in boxes around my living room
Listening this amazing sound, I was woundering: 0:03 - 01:18 > "Kraids Lair Entrance. Samus jumps from the plataform gate. She looks around searching for something" 01:23 - 01:39 > SAMUS: - What is this place? [The pinky assets in her helmet starts to shine and she reads informations about Kraid area] 01:40 - 02:43 > "The camera follows her steps down into the depths. She hear something e rise her Beam" - 02:44 - 03:20 > "The camera close up the strange monster with fire in it head" - "She approach wisely and slowly" - "Camera is now her visor" - "The monster splits fire" - Samus open fire and all the place turns on the fire lights 03:51 - ahead > SAMUS: "Whatha a fu*k. The action begins..." [she engage her beam with Charge]
10 years later, and this remix is still absolutely amazing!
11 Years.....
STILL BADASS AS HELL!!!!!
I really wish they would return to Metroid 1 style compositions in general. They had a cinematic feel that was lost in Super Metroid and later games.
Super Metroid from the SNES..? I really liked the music from there aswell. I do agree with the later series tho. :)
Dennis No. Metroid NES.
This is one of those times the TH-cam algorithm does it's job REALLY WELL.
This is exquisite!
Thanks!
Easily the best remix of Kraid's Lair to this day, no question. The deep, powerful horns really make this one for me. I don't know why more remixers don't use horns like this very often, it really gives the track a lot of extra gravitas and oomph.
Idk, the violin/rock one is a banger. And I don't even like rock!
Replaying this multiple times, I imagine myself seeing Samus traveling up a fiery volcano preparing to dive into the fiery depths.
I love listening to this song.
10 years later and here I am. Listening to this perfection of a cover, done by SamoStudios. I would not be surprised if you have secretly been hired by Nintendo-Retro Studios. This cover specifically could very well be in the ending credits of Metroid Prime 4
Such an amazing track
As a big metroid fan, I love this song so much. Red-Soil Brinstar and Kraid's lair go so well together here. The creepy atmosphere remains untouched. Heck, this paticular remix adds to the creepiness. Nicely done
the "ah, ah" got me in awe bro
Pure 🔥🔥🔥
still such a top tier remix!
I just came from your site and I cant believe you did all of this from your Roland! Hats off to you sir!!!
This is why fan music should be put in more games
+Sparky Dood “YouAsshole” Not really because fans take the base track that was made by the developers THEN polish it in arguably something more awesome. But, the only reason the track is better is because the developers are not willingly to develop more games lol.
Orochimaru sama Yes, but think, do you really think that in the next Smash Bros. game, or maybe even the next Metroid game, if a version of this song comes up, it'll be as good as the one here?
In all honestly, this is great to listen to, but won't fit well as game background music.
This would be nice for when the credits show up.
True dat but not all fan music
I've listened to all manner of butchering of this song. I'm so glad this isn't one of them. Truly beautiful.
The version on Zero mission is one of them. Imo
@@mithenmedina540 wrong, zero missions is fire
lol
this is like the most amazing thing ever when you just randomly look up a remix lol. seriously though, amazing job.
These two tunes really go well with one another
Goosebumbs and crying now... Reporting video for making me shed tears..
Sam Dillard.... I Love You.
If Nintendo ever makes a Metroid Movie, I hope they get you to do the Music.
I am in LOVE with all of your Metroid Tracks.
Totally agree!

The feels. I got goosebumps. Well done. I'm going to share this one with my wife.
Absolutely beautiful. No idea where to begin. You took my theme song, Kraid's Lair, and Red Soil and made a beautiful combination and remix. Thank you.
Metroid is the only thing that can help me when I am incredibly sad and this music is a great expression of it
Amazing! No, words cant do this any justice
I rarely ever hear an arrangement, orchestration, or remix of a video game theme that is as good as the source material, and you created something original in your derivation as well. Great job!
I've scoured TH-cam for orchestrated Metroid songs and this one is still my favourite.
13 years later, roughly. Still up in the top 5 remixes of both songs, at the very least. Still a classic!
My ears just went on a journey.
This is the best remix I've ever heard of the Kraid's Lair track so far. Astounding work at all!
The two best songs of Metroid! :D Great! Abo!
Red Soil is the greatest VG track ever made.
If there was ever a Metroid live action film coming out, this would be perfect for the opening trailer. Excellent job!
Motherfucking amazing.

Heard my little brother playing this album. Now I've never played a Metroid game but wow these tracks are SUBLIME!
the theme of kraids lair has always given me goosebumps, and then this interpretation comes along and make them explode. amazing.
this has got to be one of the most well orchestrated songs I've ever listened to.
It's a fantastic piece of music. I could hear it all day long.
It's my favorite Metroid cover of the world !!!!!
Since I first heard it in Harmony of a Hunter
Have you listened to _Metroid - Kraid's Lair (Analog Synth remake)_ at all?
so epic with the tuba on the brinstar theme at the end!
I get chills every time I hear this. Ive even played it on my college radio show a few times to let others know of the beauty that this piece holds.
2023, and it still gives me chills. Damn, this track rules.
If I had more time, I would have asked you for a piece of music for my title project (university's last and most important exam). Whatever it is, all your work is incredible.
This should be in a game, really. Amazing work!!
Oh man the kick up at the end was legit
All I can say is...beautiful. This is so beautiful.
This my friend is beyond brilliant.
I have no words for this masterpiece~

incredible, wonderful, the discharge of the trumpets at the end, they took a great work and transformed it into a beauty!
2020 and this is still my favourite Metroid remix
This is the best remix of Kraid's lair hands down.
This is really really cool, im a huge metroid fan and this is just serving me my cup of metroid tea ty sir :DD
this is totally underrated ! my two favorites in one, thanks a lot !
So many memories. Awesome stuff!
I get tingles. Fantastic job on this, whoever responsible!
Notyour Business Thank you, and that would be me :)
this song is amazing! Definitely the best VG song cover I've ever heard.
This is better than any Rap or "Popular" Song I have ever heard. This guy needs the musical equivalent to an Oscar.
epic work, completely blown away in astonishment!!!
excellent work !
oh my!! this is absolutely breathtaking!!
Brings tears to my eyes thank you!
This is my favorite track on Harmony of a Hunter. I still get chills listening to it...
Also, I've shared this wonder a few times on my college radio station- because other ears must hear this.
I really love what you did with these two songs, Sam. I always jam out to it when I'm driving and crank up the volume.
Quite pleasant. I really like the original theme, this is a nice remix.

Wow...that was just beautiful.
This completely blew me away! I knew how good you were but you just surpassed that. What an incredible effort! Great job! :)
Really love it. Especially the chorus near the end.
You also could've had some trumpets to make the end more explosive, but hey! Great job
There are trumpets. At 4:09. They are digital.
can't get enough of that.
hope you keep it up!
fantastic.
Thank you, very enjoyable version!
This is incredible. Fantastic job!
Absolutely blew me away! I love this! :)
The remix with the best personality. Great job :-)
I've never heard anything like this before, this is amazing!

Sir in it is my duty to tell you that you are truly epic.
I must say, this exceeded my expectations. Great work, keep up the work, and you've earned a sub here.
This is so brilliant! Great job!
Bravo, outstanding work sir. 10/10!
this deserves so much more views
Absolutely epic. I'd love to see the real Metroid move with such a soundtrack.
Holy shit, this is a freaking MASTERPIECE.

+Leandro Budugo Sounds like something that should be in an epic Metroid movie.
I love how the remix also added simularity to the zero mission version with the choir part
Coolness from within
Totally subscribed! This is amazing! :D
