That's exactly what racism means, however, whites have now changed the definition of racism because suddenly they care if they are perceived negatively. Now, they want to say, its not just us who are racist. It used to mean one race (which is white) having power and control over another race.

Racism is a concept that is difficult for people to understand unless they are negatively affected by it.
It is diificult to understand -- a person without a lawn doesn't understand why a person with a lawn needs a lawnmower.

@Kurt Beck : Better is to ask the person who has a lawn and needs a lawnmower, or several sheep to graze, why they don't get rid of the damn useless lawn to replace it with food gardening. That'd be a far better neighbor and very fair, as well as wise. It'd have absolutely nothing to do with differentiating between a blade of grass of one type and a blade of grass of another type; iow, no discrimination, only intelligence. :)

Wrong. Few people who are negatively affected by racism don't get it. Those who benefit are the ones who deny or minimize it, so that they may continue to benefit. Not that those people are evil, most people with advantage seek to keep it. But let's not be naive; people who want to understand will. It's NOT difficult.

capitalism is racism and fascism, always has been and will be. The first step it to dismantle capitalism, then we can have a conversation

    • @mikecorbeil
      @mikecorbeil 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@David Schlessinger : I think capitalism could be fine, if it was done FAIRLY. The problem we have is " _pathological capitalism_ ". There was a TRNN video published I think yesterday, maybe the day before, though it's now August 20th and not 19th, but one of the guests used the term " _pathological capitalism_ ". Hearing that from him, the guest, was welcome, for I wouldn't have thought of it and would've just said corrupt capitalism. Saying it's pathological, though, is very fitting, for it's a cancerous, say, sort of capitalism. There's potential for fair capitalism, but I don't how much of it exists in this world of extreme predatory capitalism.

And Imperialism. Don’t forget Imperialism. This interview touches on all of it.
Capitalism doesn’t work without racism and sexism. Capitalism doesn’t work without Imperialism and fascism. The exploitation can only work when labor is divided and controlled by the ruling class. As capitalism grows the tipping point is when those in the middle class move down the economic ladder.
As this draining of the middle class continues we can’t fail to observe that socialism is bringing millions of people out of poverty in China.

Despite the title of the book #Fear, I think we're neither discussing the properly framed problem, nor the big picture solutions yet. #FearIsTheProblem. Fear is the root of insecurity, narcissism, bullying, misogyny, homophobia, racism, bigotry and greed. Fear allows people to mentally wall-off their own empathy to virtually zero.
Three of the biggest generators of fear are 1) this historically unsustainable and exponentially growing wealth and income inequality level of late stage, out of control capitalism (if you lose your job you might lose healthcare access, your home, car, partner, child custody, etc), 2) fear-mongers like Fox/Faux/Fear News, the GOP, etc. (they’re all out to get you, all the time), and 3) religion ('evil' is waiting around every corner, all your life with eternal unimaginable fiery torture as a deterrent).
Let's be honest, no amount or size of Great Walls, or military spending, or nuclear arsenal, or non US soil military bases and ops, or international weapons sales, or personal weapons and magazine sizes, or of school teachers with guns, or of privatized, militarized and systemically racist police and mass incarceration, or of mass deportations including the Dreamers, or of bans of entire groups of people, or torture of immigrant children as a deterrent, or threats to shoot rock-throwing refugees, or torture of POWs, or control over women, or Space Farces, or anything else will ever Make American Republicans Feel Safe enough...
American Republican fear is historically extraordinary. Every single American Republican policy is more fear and greed based than the progressive alternative. Fear (and the empathy and critical thought it kills) is what separates the right from the left.
With a $15 min wage, tuition free education, universal healthcare, a universal basic income (UBI), internet access for all, etc, together we'll take a giant leap in reducing day to day societal fears and towards increasing equality. #getALLmoneyOut

    11. Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.12. Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:13. But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God. Ecclesiastes 8:11 -13

In a capitalism, money oriented non-democratic society, that "One Way Street Mentality Executes All The Way To The Extreme," that as long as I am safe and secure, others plights "Absolutely" not my concern. Period. The demised culture detected the national character.
A Capitalism Society couldn't possible equipped with any forms of "Democracy". A "Money Oriented" society depleted the basic ingredient of "Humanity"per a Democratic Society. A nation without soul, spirit and humanity never able functioning in a true "Democratic Society. Only a Socialist that share wealth with 100% but not only 1% able to do so.
Racism is a MUST, elite and 1% promotes absolute capitalism makes sure that the 1% own 99% of wealth, cut off the minority share, only 50% resources needed to be share, that is much easier to handle to grab the 49% of the benefits, and let the 1% has it all of 100%. Always appreciated listen and see the Giant Eddy Conway.

What we really need to be discussing is "why" ALL races are racist against the black race. PERHAPS, if "we change" the negative characteristics whereby we stand out like a swollen thumb, we will be accepted maybe even embraced by the other races.
Whites and Orienrals will not discuss racism with us because "WE DON'T LISTEN and WE ARE TOO EMOTIONAL. WE DON'T WANT TO HEAR AND "ACCEPT" others "verbalized" observations. Although I don't believe ever asked Latinos "reason" for their racism, I believe they would come straight with their facts because if blacks "snap" on them, they are already prepared to take matters to the next level.
SO, let's stop this pretense it is only a particular race exihibits an are of being better than our black race. Those with the notion of being better than our race are "ALL" unified and when it comes to the defense of their race, THEY ORGANIZE.
Charateristically, our black ppl behave as separated "tribes." They come to the defense of their "clan (and friends of the clan)" all others must fend for themselves and their clan. Black ppl have absolutely "no common interest" in order to unite and organize as one. Our ppl are "shifty and shady." We "cannot" trust each other. Clearly, an apple does not fall far from its tree... Look at Africa!

It really bugs me when people continue to use basic words such as "white" "black" or "brown" when describing people. I am a "white woman" but there is more to me then that. I am of European descend yes but my family on both side of my heritage were Irish. Irish people saw oppression on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. My grandparents were refugees from Ireland to Canada. Irish people themselves are descendants of the Celtic Tribes that were destroyed by the Romans over 2 K years ago. Celtic people had their own beliefs, customs and over all way of life that was destroyed. Knowing all that I can relate to African Americans and Native Americans etc who experienced similar history. I value my own heritage but I respect other cultures as well. Its frustrating to say the least.

I stopped watching at 11 minutes when she started propping up illegal immigration, that's what this video is really all about, NOT about or for the issues that effect Black Americans.
The Black mayor of that Mississippi town where ICE conducted the raid on the slaughter house is absolutely correct in supporting ICE. What the media has intentionally failed to show on national TV is the long line African Americans that had applied for those jobs and within 48 hours became EMPLOYED at that factory, and if I'm not mistaken at a decent $15 per hour!
I live in Southern California, I can tell you that $15 an hour goes a hell of a lot further for a black person in Mississippi than it would anywhere else.
Furthermore, the economic impact that those jobs have on those individuals AND the community is incalcuable. They now have the ability, if necessary, to go purchase/finance a reliable source of transportation...this is HUGE as without transportation one will have difficulty finding employment.
It also allows the newly employed individuals to prove to a landlord/owner that they are able to afford housing, somewhat afford medical payments, provide basic living necessities for their families, save for vacations, emergencies, school supplies, holidays etc.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, for black men, you are now in a position to more adequately be the head of your household by financially supporting your family. Does anyone really care to debate how massive numbers of Black males not being able to find employment has affected that community AND the demise of the Black family?
Without employment, it is nearly impossible for the Black man be a positive role model/ example to your children. Employment allows for one to teach your children how to do/be better than you, teach financial responsibility and of course the emotional benefits of employment go without saying.
With that said, I have yet to hear a Black advocate of illegal immigration explain how that BENEFITS Black communities, that's primarily because it doesn't. I can tell you haven't lived in Southern California for 27 years what used to be black Los Angeles is now non-existent. The few areas were blacks remain, they are now surrounded by hostile illegal immigrants who actually believe they deserve to be here! Who think they are better than black people and should have all the rights and privileges that my Black American ancestors fought and died to gain.
Who in the hell in their right mind thinks that it's okay for a large group of people to immigrate to a country and demand that native people speak their/foreign language?
Picture this, imagine if millions of black Americans started going down to Mexico and Central America and flooding communities and started saying we expect you guys to know how to speak English, and that we are willing to work for less money than the locals in those already poor, intentionally underserved communities.
To add insult to injury, we then start pointing fingers at those native people saying "you guys are lazy" stop complaining about how the U.S., political corruption drug cartels and racism affect you....we illegal immigrant blacks are willing to work for less than you locals AND your country is going to provide citizenship instantly for our children that are born here, your tax dollars are going to pay for our children to be born, your tax dollars are also going to contribute to us living in affordable housing in YOUR communities, for schooling, college and our children are going to overcrowd your schools and force the hiring of non Spanish speaking teachers.
It's a recipe for tremendous conflict for the native people and national culture.
within a decade you will have Representatives who don't share your history, ethnicity, culture nor your interest, these I just a few reasons why black Americans should not support illegal and for that matter, legal immigration until America first makes whole our community.
