It had Mexican, American Indians, some Japanese and very few whites. I was in many classes the only white and I am a indian mix. I enjoyed the orange juice. It was something we never ever got at home. We also never got much sweets so I had to dilute the juice with water, it was too sweet but yummy.

He was a white Oakland native for 60 or more years and saw them as a fierce force. I'm always trying to find out where the truth lies between reality, propoganda and conspiracy theories.

Enlightning talk, living in Europe American history was a few chapters of a watered down copy of official history in your country for my classmates and me. My sons history books don't do better unfortunately.. This talk certainly sparked a new interest in investigating further, thank you so much!

I need to check my records from Illinois, I was a state worker who got terminated from the State after 22 h years because of racial remarks by my supervisor, I moved to another state took a part time job because Of my health only after two years to hear my supervisor make a statement to another worker over the phone that I was under investigation, but I was never informed or notified by any one I found out also by old associates who now will not talk to me because they were instructed not to.

We had a chapter in Philly back in the Philly and donated to them a couple of times
Movements built around social justice have always been vilified, especially those movements that have the greatest chance of succeeding. This vilification is likely due to a possibility of leveling the playing field which goes against the philosophy of a class structure. Howard Zinn provides some of the earliest examples of this need to preserve a class structure by vilifying acts of social justice.
Howard Zinn wrote a couple of books about the People's history. Lots of good stories of blacks and whites struggles.

The truth of any situation is never readily apparent. The truth involves in having an open mind, a thirst for knowledge and an ability to put aside preconceived notions of what we assume we know. The status quo will remain such because no one in power wants to lose that power. No one on power wants to share that power. The people in power assume that they will be treated the way that they have treated others. Power to the people!

He never really finished about his felony. He says he had a felony on his record and it took 2 years to get cleared up. Did he sue? This is a case any civil right attorney would love to fight.
Seems like he left out a lot of info on himself and how he cleared his felony up and what was it for. He needs to finish the story. Lots of ??? On the table.

Best ted talk ever. Fred hampton was a HERO! I want to encourage you all to consider, that MLK was not assassinated when he spoke to racial justice, it was when he began to speak against war, and fueled the ideas of how wrong capitalism was,i in his March for sanitation workers. Anti-war, anti-capitalist, that's when hoover had MLK assassinated. This is super important to understand.
