Many people didn't give the new album a chance. Now that he's gone, people start paying attention to the lyrics from One More Light.
I think many fans are reading TOO deeply into the lyrics of their songs and relate it to Chester's death; for example some might say "One More Light was his goodbye song to us." IT'S NOT! That song was written by Mike over a year and a half ago about their friend who died of cancer, and try to relate and comfort their fans who lost someone. Mike didn't sit and think "Let me write a song for Chester, who i know will commit suicide next year!" Most of their songs have depressing lyrics and yes, Chester did struggle with suicide and is channelling his experiences into his songs. But we need to think more logically and analytically and look at the context in which the songs were written at the time of writing. Also about Heavy, ok it was a cry for help, but WHEN exactly was it written? It came out in February this year so it may have been written ANYTIME LAST 2 YEARS. Chester really did seem to deal with life better even though he had his demons to deal with. I'm pretty sure it was Chris Cornell's death and truly broke him for good. This song is EXACTLY the kind of song LP would make. There should be no surprises here. It's funny how those who criticise the OML album saying it is not LP at all, yet this song is the most LP it can get!
Now looking at this, we can see that even though Chester didnt write lyrics of most of these new songs, he tried to save himself by talking about his trouble to his bandmates, who wrote the songs about it, however no one but him knew how serious the trouble really was. In Berlin, where they played so many shows, he probably already knew this is coming to an end really soon, so he probably decided to include Nobody Can Save Me and Sharp Edges into setlist as a last goodbye to german fans. I'm assuming this, since these two songs werent played the day before in Prague
Chester wasn't troubled or sad - on 5-26 (Chris' funeral) he set the date for 7-20 (Chris'b-day) and did it. Brad and Mike wrote the songs for OML in 2015 while reflecting on their long time office worker who had unexpectedly died of cancer - not about Chester.

Also I didn't know these songs were written already in 2015. I just wanted to point out that he probably wanted these songs to be played in cities where they performed many times. Nobody Can Save Me is for me the song which is predicting his passing more than any other on this record and Sharp Edges was his favourite from that album, that's why he wanted to play these two. He related to them strongly and wanted to leave them as part of his legacy. Also I have no idea how you could find out when he decided to leave. Nobody knows that and nobody will ever know. I assume he decided about that shortly after Chris passed, but we don't know for sure when and we will never know. And it's better that way. We can only assume, but let's stop doing that. Either way it was very deliberate for him to follow through exactly on Chris' b-day. 'Suicidal copying' can be so shocking because there could be no signs at all. It's not that he was hiding or lying to people. Mike said the OML theme was about "losing someone you love" it wasn't really about Chester until Chris' drug influenced suicide. They were both awesome guys and the world was a better place with them in it.
