    So does anyone else have this camera? Please share your experience below. I wish they made an outdoor version of this as it's been pretty solid for me!

    Love the videos, please keep them coming. I see all this smart home stuff in stores and want to buy everything but then think what I would actually use it for. Your vids show me exactly what I need to know and how I could use this stuff in my house. Thanks man!

      THANK YOU Mike! Right, only get the devices that you can find a use for. It can be tempting to buy everything but it can quickly become an obsession and the last thing you would want to do is spend money on something that might not get much usage in your daily life. I try to show my personal real-world usage so that viewers like you can make informed decisions.

    Ive had this camera for nearly a year now and it’s been very reliable overall.

      I've had it since the end of last year and it's been pretty solid. I wish D-Link made an outdoor/weatherproof version of it.

    I’m looking forward to the follow up video Rey, thanks for sharing.
    Following a previous review, the Koogeek window/door sensors are now on Amazon so I’ll be ordering shortly.

      Thanks Steve! The Koogeek sensors are the lowest priced for HomeKit on the market now and, from my research, the most responsive.

    Great video Rey! A recent subscriber as well. I think the main attraction to this camera is no monthly fee like Nest or Ring. Price point is good as well. Looking forward to your Logitech review.

    • @ReyG_HKSH
      @ReyG_HKSH  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching and the support! I’ve seen reviews on Nest and their cameras seem to have more of a lag than this D-Link. Ring doesn’t have HomeKit support (yet) but I do like the idea of their Floodlight. I’m hoping Apple adds the ability to record from enabled HomeKit cameras and upload to iCloud in the upcoming iOS.

    Nice review, thank you! Regarding the notifications, you can set them up at the Home app, "when I am not at home".

    Have you heard that Aqara (Xiaomi) announced HomeKit support?

    • @ReyG_HKSH
      @ReyG_HKSH  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I’m excited at the possibility of low cost sensors and devices from Aqara. If it does happen, I’ll have reviews up shortly afterwards 👍

    Sadly the updated App for Omna 180 is buggy. Giving wrong time-stamps to recorded video files. (the year 2018 Jan, instead of 2020 and correct month). Difficult to find support form D-Link for this device. Any solution will be great.

    • @ReyG_HKSH
      @ReyG_HKSH  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately, the OMNA 180 appears to be abandoned by D-Link. Sad, since it was the first HomeKit camera available and has been pretty rock-solid in my usage.

    So you can download videos from the SD card without physically accessing the SD card and putting it in a computer?

    • @ReyG_HKSH
      @ReyG_HKSH  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can download video via the native OMNA app. Thanks for watching!

    Can motion detection be adjusted to special part of the room? Or it works just for whole room?

    • @ReyG_HKSH
      @ReyG_HKSH  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, It can be adjusted. I should have showed this in the app; my oversight. There is a Motion Detection section under preferences that gives a 4x4 grid of the room and you can choose which squares are active and you can set a slider for low to high sensitivity as well as a motion trigger delay.

    • @Homekitgeek
      @Homekitgeek 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can definitely create motion zones in the Dlink app to control what part of the room motion is detected. It's a grid based system that allows you to select only the parts of the room you want. You can also adjust the sensitivity and the motion delay. Pretty sweet!

    I have both cameras. The OMNA 180 Cam HD is a great camera, but lots of pain points with it!!!!!
    1. 20 second video clips is sooooooo annoying (logi circle 2 clips are as long as activity is detected)
    2. App needs a refresh badly (Logi circle 2 app experience is 10 times better ... day brief is much more accessible and it works, accessing previous clips is much cleaner and organized, app is much more modern)
    3. It currently doesn’t support HomeKit Secured Video
    4. D-Link customer service is horrible from when I’ve spoken to them on multiple occasions
    I think if D-Link did an overhaul of their OMNA app I’d have a very different point of view.

    • @ReyG_HKSH
      @ReyG_HKSH  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      D-Link really missed on a great opportunity as the first to market with a HK camera. They kinda just put it on the market and left it there to stagnate. Very unfortunate because it’s still one of my more reliable security cameras.

    • @bruceaanthony
      @bruceaanthony 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with you! Very reliable camera and great quality but poor upkeep for the software.
      Just sad!!! I wish I could give their head a shake 😓

    • @ReyG_HKSH

      Yes, you can but depending on your network data speed it can be slooooooowww. Thanks for watching!

    Any news about Ring X HomeKit?)

    • @ReyG_HKSH
      @ReyG_HKSH  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nothing yet, but Ring keeps insisting they're still working on it. We'll see...
