You have an exact parts list? I have a 2010 and immediately was like yes. Also if you had a high-flow cat included would that solve the need for a tune?
Hey there - there’s still a good chance you’ll continue to have a check engine light with the high flow cats. High flow cats will just be helpful in areas with visual inspections, and they’ll greatly reduce the stench produced by catless cars.
Hi, these were Corsa Performance exhaust tips: www.americanmuscle.com/corsa-mustang-quad-4-inch-polished-pro-series-exhaust-tips-21038.html?Exhaust%20-%20Tips%7CCorsa%20Performance&T5_Var4=408794&T5_Var2=shopping&AM+Brands+Medium+LTVTop&intl=0&dialogtech=ppc&gclid=Cj0KCQjw06-oBhC6ARIsAGuzdw3m8qc2DQ8TRHoWPPTxpa00S-s_o3rTHUl7XbV-4S7blsMRHMIrBKIaAuo9EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
Hey, happy to hear you're a part of the family! The leading VW/Audi specialist in our area is New German Performance. Otherwise, exhaust shops like Alex Automotive in Woodbridge are quite ideal.
Im about to drop around 1.5k on a jhm flash for the ecu and now tcu. Even though i can't find anything about this on their site. Was arrogantly told by a rep at jhm that i def need the tcu flash as well even though it's not a dual clutch?....anyways, the ecu flash..was it worth it?
Thank you! I thought it was great for the time that I had it. It made a noticeable difference in the higher RPM power delivery for me. I found that the OEM tune didn't pull quite as hard, but just had more touchy throttle response in order to feel like it was more torquey off of the line.
Sorry to hear about the service you had to deal with... I'm sure the TCU flash was recommended, because it does help the 6HPZP auto gearbox respond a lot better to inputs and shift faster. Overall, the ECU tune was worth it for me. I recommend Jackal Motorsports, however. It's more trusted by the community, offers more power, and comes with stellar customer service at a more affordable price.
This setup with the stock downpipes and catalytic converters was respectably loud still. It made for a good sounding catback -- loud enough to sound like a modded exhaust without being too over the top
If I remember correctly, the catless race pipes themselves were around $550, while installing them was a few hundred bucks. I worked with my friend, who is a shop owner, in order to get the job done.
The JHM Race Pipes would have replaced the cats. The S5 doesn't require the engine or trans to be dropped for the job, while the RS 5 does. With the S5, it helps to "push" the transmission partially aside. I believe JHM actually has a video about that shortcut.
@jasoniic So in regards to the tune how easy was it to remove the cel? My only problem is if I get catless it will give me a cel and I'm not sure which tune and what to do about getting rid of the cel
Removing the check engine light while going catless is as simple as getting the ECU reflashed. This car had a JHM tune on it for this. Jackal Motorsports would be my recommendation nowadays.
In hindsight, I'd recommend going with a high flow cat. It'll still be 95% as loud probably, and perform 99.99% as well, while smelling at least 70% less toxic.
@@jasoniic is it the magnaflow resonator that gives it « that » sound? Cause yeah the testpipes and downpipes make it sound more raw, but this setup is out of this world.
I honestly think the Magnaflow resonator does really take the loudness and rawness of the overall system and "smooths" it out somewhat in pitch; while also refining the higher RPMs. It's a cross-flow resonator, meaning it's internally an X-pipe.
Damn that thing can roar. Im in VA also, I 🙏 to be blessed to run across it one day.
I just bought a 2011 136k miles its insane love it
Congrats to you!!! These cars are super rewarding. I’m wishing you plenty of thrills with it
Sounds absolutely insane 😂🔥
Thank you!!! Please stick around, because I’ll be uploading lot more Audi content soon!
Outrages is the right word😂
It's a bit shouty, that's for sure.

I’m in Alexandria Va, got a 2012 Audi s5. Where can I take my car to sound like this??

Holy shit

Super nice example of a 4.2 S5! What did you think of the JHM tune? Was there a noticeable difference?

Yo did you end up selling the s5 at aag?
You spotted me! Yes, such a memorable car though.
How loud it was this setup plus stock downpipe?

how much did it cost for the non resonated catless pipes with install? ive been interested in them
@@jasoniic which ones replaced the cats? Everything Ive seen says engine needs to be dropped to get to the cats, and that its stupid expensive.

What tips you have on this?
These are Corsa Performance Exhaust 4" tips
Not gonna lie this sounds fucking awesome, the auto box is just not doing it for me though!
Thank you very much, but this is actually a six-speed manual transmission :)
I just came
Me Too ❤
I should probably tell TH-cam "No, this video is not made for kids."
so simply put its straight pipe?
Almost, but not quite. It still has a Magnaflow center resonator.
What diffuser is that???
This was a Deval rear diffuser
Why does sound different than your other video
@@jasoniic this is the greatest sounding thing I’ve ever heard as of yet in my life

Just different cameras and microphones. Older iPhone versus Nikon D5600 on this video

Audio sounds like shit. Can’t even hear anything clearly. Sounds decent from what I can kind of hear though.
Sorry to hear.. I'll accept some of that as a compliment, though! I've recently uploaded a short with sound clips from this car, if that might help.
