best money spent mod for any Polaris 850 or 1000 sportsman and scrambler is the HD ATV GEAR PINION BEARING PLATE UPGRADE. everyone I know with a 850 or 1000 has the bearing plate break into 4 to 10 pieces because they come too thin. the hd Atv Gear pinion plate is close to half inch thick where the 4 Allan bolts go through and alot more material around the bearing to stiffen things up. it cost me 2500 bucks to fix my exploded front diff. if I known and spent the 150 on the hd plate it would of never left me stranded ten miles in the Bush. when the plate breaks your walking because the driveshaft flops around and wears against the fuel tank.... ya no good lol
Watch a bunch of videos on this install for Polaris XP 550 and 850's and not one appears to have used or talked about using their tuner, I inquire with a guy who works on Polaris and has same on his XP 850 and his opinion no need for tuner as Polaris runs rich to begin so it should not run to lean, Mike S.

How do you like the Polaris high lifter compared to the can am renegade? I own a 2000 Sportsman 500 and it's turning radius is huge. My friends can do a U turn easily while I'm left doing a 3 point turn on same trail. LOL. How's the turning radius on your 850 high lifter with those big tires? Great video!
I do mostly mud riding now so in that sense i like the highlifter. Thing is an animal. I do miss being able to pull a wheelie at 25mph on the renegade. The turning radius is very wide on the Highlifter, but doesnt take long to get used to.
OG BB to get the 400ho and 500 to turn sharp at really slow speed .... Stand out the outside foot well . like turning right stand on the left foot well. this lightens the inside tires and it will turn much sharper. my wife has a 400. this technique is working well
Now with motorcycles as in street motorcycles after you change the exhaust you have to remap the computer. And a friend (don't know how credible) was telling me that polaris tunes them really lean from the factory to pass emissions. Do you need a remap on them after an exhaust swap? Have you heard if they come lean?

I have a 2017 renegade 1000 and I'm supposed to trade for a lifted highlifter 850 tomorrow, do you like the renegade better or the Polaris?
I miss the high speed and power steering of the renegade. If you are doing mostly mud riding then you will like the sportsman a lot better.
