Yes, shutting off water is crucial. We were actually home when the hose on our guest bathroom toilet broke and water starting spraying profusely, it was almost bedtime but my husband was up watching tv in the living room. He heard what he thought was me blow drying my hair but when he went to check out the noise water was spraying everywhere in that bathroom. He immediately shut off the water and mopped up the mess. I shudder to think what we would have woken up to had he not heard the noise. It’s important to change toilet hoses out if they are too old and washing machine water outlets also tend to corrode with time and those should also be updated.

Those plant watering stakes are the best!! I was gone for a month and those stakes kept my plants alive the whole time.
