This is why this channel is vastly different from other cemetery channels. Ron is unselfish and kind, and it shows! My wife and I did a two week tour of Ireland in 2018. It is truly magical there! We will go back. Cheers from British Columbia.

My fiancee always cleans his family graves in the spring and fall, and he started going to my NY family cemeteries to do mine. My family hadn't been well cared for and there was so much moss it took several passes to find them, because their names were covered. We had to go back with the Worx portable pressure washer and brush (this was granite and could handle it-don't do wire on soft stones.) We always take a weed whacker, broom and trim around the stone and clean up the edges. If you have requests in Central NYS, Margaretville, Roxbury and Shandaken- we can make time to clean an extra stones.

I saw the King Tut expedition when it was in Seattle in 1979, I still have my ticket stub, it was only a $1.00 to get in. I remember we had to get in line early in the morning to get tickets, so we stay out all night and partied, we went and saw Junior Cadillac at the Rainbow tavern in the U district. It was a mind blowing exhibit, I'm sure we were still high from partying all night! I sure do miss the 1970,s! Everyone partied like rock stars!

Happy fathers day to you sir.....good work on this one, one thing that is fact about mr darius miller was that he had the largest funeral ever at rosehill up until that point, over 3000 people with many of the prominent rich and famous.... i have a great reasons to suspect that our beloved cemetery lady helen (God rest her soul)may have started the darius miller legend thats been goin around for the last couple generations...same with the gerhardt foreman and aleistair crowley bein best of friends tale, i have found proof that one of foreman grandsons meddled with crowleys cult but nothing beyond bank/financial connections, the foreman family had alot of misfortunes and tragedies dig into them if you are ever bored at rosehill....also the old section of the mausoleum with the furnace cranked all the way up has been closed off to the public as of last week, apparently major work being done on the roof and corridors we wont get to see mr sears or shedd for awhile....

Ya know, I hated history in school, until I was in 7th grade and got the coolest teacher. His name was Mr. Gardner. He used to travel around on vacations and then play his home movies for us students. He'd tell us all kinds of interesting things from his travels. Because of him, I finally took an interest. He was like Mr Kotter, tons of fun. You remind me of Mr Gardner. You make history fun and interesting. Your just like my favorite teacher!! I love it!

Ron, I don't know if you have ever done an episode on it or not, as I am new to your channel, but probably the most spectacular cemetery I have ever visited is Forest Lawn Glendale in Glendale, California. It's actually more than one can take in in just one visit. If you haven't been there, but you have the chance to go, you will definitely not be sorry. You could probably spend a couple of days there! Keep up the great work you are doing. These stories that you uncover are so diverse and interesting!

What a great video! Carter's discovery set off intense interest in Egyptian art, fashion-anything you can think of. The "curse" is debunked partly because now we know of the microbes that grew in these tombs and people connected to the discovery had breathed in these deadly, deadly fungus. Thank you for pointing out that many who supposedly died from the "curse" actually passed away from something else.
    Lovely cemetery--Thank you!

The Dawes mausoleum looks a lot like the private mausoleum on a little island in the middle of the small lake at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. I think the family name of that one is Clark. Also politicians, I believe.
Darius Miller’s mausoleum has a lot of motifs similar to the ones on the Hope Abbey mausoleum at Eugene Masonic Cemetery (in Oregon). Hope Abbey is a community mausoleum, not a private one, but it has Egyptian motifs on it. It was inaccessible for many years because it had become run down due to little or no funds to maintain things. That, unfortunately, happens a lot. Fortunately, though, independent organizations were able to finally raise enough funds to clean it up and repair damage done over the years. Darius Miller died in 1914, which happened to be the same year Hope Abbey was dedicated.
If you look up Hope Abbey Mausoleum at the Eugene Masonic Cemetery in Eugene, Oregon, I think you can find some photos of it. It would be interesting to see if there are more similarities between the two. There was, I think, a fascination with Ancient Egypt around that time that really shows still in structures like these.

If you're ever in Georgia look up Patrick Memorial Cemetery. I don't know any stories behind any people buried there but it is a very unusual and creepy cemetery. A lot of blank tombstones, when I was there years back there were graves that had been dug up amd the bodies removed but the head stones were still there, but they had been emptied quite some time andnever filled in. In some woods in the back I saw head stones and statues that I believe were thrown there by vandals.
One story I do have is a friend was in middle school and running from cops for shinannigans he would do but a tree root had opened a grave, his foot got caught in it and he said "I know it was only roots but in my young mind it was the hand of whoever was buried there reaching to take me down! I ran so fast I cleared the wall! I mean I don't mean I jumped over the wall, I CLEARED the wall!" (Its a fence now, he took me on a tour.)
