I'm relatively new to photography, especially DSLR photography so when Tim (My favourite photographer) 'liked' 2 of my shots on Instagram, it was the biggest form of encouragement I have had!

I originally watched this probably 5 years ago, it just showed up in my utube feed and I watched it again. I have been watching photography vlogs, instruction, etc., for all these years and I can say this remains to be the clearest and most effective one of all. So glad I'm watching it again. What a great teacher Tim Cooper is!

This is such a good video it's virtually a free mini course. Years ago I listened to it probably 5 or 6 times on my drives to work after I'd watched it. I learned as much as if I'd taken a proper course by listening a few times so I could try the techniques and remember all the info. Tim's got a real talent with explaining things.

As an old feller Ive watched this a few times and will keep watching as its easy to forget things as one ages. I have to right it all down so I can check to see what I'm doing. Its to easy to take ones camera and start shooting to find you get home and you thought your pics looked ok but once on the computer you find it so was to high your f stop was wrong. So I thank you so much for this constant reminder which I enjoy it keeps me thinking. Regards Casper your friendly Host.

I have been taking photographs of landscapes for years with no formal training or instruction with some beautiful results. After watching this video I realised I naturally do 90% of what Tim was talking about especially the light and changing positions suggestions. I have the coken system of filters as well as some circular polarising ones as well and was surprised to hear him say I didn't need all these filters, I find I use them a lot especially in the 'Magic Light' time of day. Great stuff Tim, I really enjoyed and got a lot out of your presentation

This is the best of all tutorials I have seen on this site. I am a passionate and fairly experienced landscape photographer although I had more experience with film cameras than digital till now, so I have learned masses of good information and a lot of good tips. Cooper's photos are marvelous and he's the clearest, most thorough and easy to understand instructor I've seen on B+H. Many thanks to Cooper for this wonderful class. Top stuff.

I have been trying to understand this complex subject and I have listened to many different explanations, but the more I listened, the more it seemed to be like a black art! Then, thankfully, I happened on your talk and WOW! Suddenly it's perfectly clear. Your delivery, examples, and the structure of your talk were really well thought out. Now I can go out with a clear plan and will be able to learn from my experiences. Thanks a million.

Upvote on tevors white balance comment and RAW shooting. The best thing about shooting RAW is you can swap that WB around in post at the click of a button. No need to remember colour adjustment levels unless you then want to fine tune HSL.

Invaluable. It was indeed packed with information.
I had read a lot of books and tried a lot of things, but I felt I had reached a plateau and wasn't progressing. This tutorial has given me a wealth of straightforward techniques I can apply to get the most out of my equipment.
I genuinely feel I have the information to move on to another level now.
I very much enjoyed that and found it very watchable. I honestly didn't think I would watch the whole thing when I saw how long it was, but I enjoyed every bit of it.
I can't wait to get back out there and try some of these techniques.
Enjoyable & engaging presentation with excellent examples & illustrations.

If you are shooting in raw, you don't need to concern yourself with sunny or cloudy mode. You do all of that in post. Just drop a grey card onto the ground at the edge of shot where you can crop it away and use that to set your colour.

If you are shooting in RAW it really matters quite little what your white balance is set to. It does not become part of the image data, it is simply 'tagged onto' the image data. RAW data is just data.

It does affect the colour histogram and can result in clipping of R,G or B. I suggest that you look at Dave Morrow on You Tube. He explains the significance. Most of the time it does not matter.
