Awesome Video! I actually now own the 1998 Chrome Yellow Cobra Saleen that Eric sold to me!
Very cool
Wow, nice video!
I'm an original Mystichrome convertible owner
in Ontario, Canada
Thanks for sharing!
That’s awesome.
I always called the 03-04 Saleen Cobras "the loophole". Because Saleen always pushed the S351 SC (495hp) and S281E (425hp) as his top Saleen Mustangs. But these Saleen Terminators were "the loophole". 😎
BTW, I'm a Saleen fan and owner of Saleen 89-342.
2004 # 098 still resides in my friend Mike's garage ( Black 1 of 3 coupes for 04 ) Got to ride in it a very long time ago before I even knew what Saleen Cobra's were. One reason they kept the Cobra hood was due to the Saleen hood not fitting due to the eaton or perhaps the pulley shroud. I actually came across the video of this cars new owner a few weeks ago, such an amazing car. I believe it was Dave Lavoie who had that car before if I remember correctly, I just remember seeing it in a few of the Cobra and Saleen groups before.
Also regarding my friend mikes car is that even though its 1 of 3 black coupes one of those 3 has been wrecked pretty bad. Its being fixed but it will forever have a salvage title. I believe the owner of BluAuto has it now. Iconic as how so many Cobra's get parted out through there but now one is being saved. He has sent me a few pictures of the repair in process. If you're interested in seeing them I can send them over to you.
That’s a cool detail about the saleen hood and the supercharger. The one blu has is a black roush terminator although there was also a black Saleen terminator that was wrecked as well and I have the pictures and I planned on putting it in this video.
@@justin.c_svt That’s incorrect he does not have a Roush Terminator and it is in fact one of the 3 black Saleen Cobra coupe’s. It’s not second hand information I was told directly by the BluAuto office manger she was one of the previous owners of my current Sonic Blue. I asked her about the Saleen and that’s correct. They did further digging and the Roush was not a Cobra Roush
Hey @Lethal_Venom, I just wanted to let you know that the video you and I were corresponding on had to be deleted and re-uploaded as the audio was out of whack with the exhaust sounds. Just wanted to let you know in case you were wondering where your comments went lol, it’s not your comments that were deleted, the entire video was deleted and re-uploaded.
@@SN95 I did see the re upload and noticed the audio on the one before was a little wonky lol
Awesome video!!! The 96 Mystic in the side shot was actually my car I sold back in May of last year. There was also a small write up about it in the September 2023 issue of Sports Car Market Magazine. I live in Virginia and the buyer of the car is all the way up in Alberta Canada. When the auction company sent me the buyer contact info and I saw where he was from I was shocked. From what I was told these Mystics are very hard to get there.
Where ford had to oversee all the paintwork at the time with Mystichrome and collect the extra paint, etc, I wonder how, when, where the painted parts were done at the time
Saleen was (may still be) a legally speaking automobile manufacturer (not a tuner like Roush, callaway, etc), they had to meet EPA and safety regulations so they had to build their cars a certain way. On a side note thats why the Saleen S351 was such a special car. A 351Windsor engine in an sn95 (and '99 model year) other than the '95 Cobra R, but with a supercharger from the factory and 36 month warranty like any new car. It was EPA certified in all 50 atates. It was arguably a vestige of the 60s Shelby like era in that it wasnt just a body kit or decals but a bonafide drivetrain upgrade to something that no other mustang offered in the 90s.
I do agree
I like the look of the Saleen body kit, although as time passes it doesn’t age as well as the factory cobra bumper and side skirts.. I have heard the quality and fitment isn’t always great though..
Beautiful cars! The Saleen is one of my favorites as well!
With the Canadian, 4 Screaming Yellows 👍🏼
Fantastic video, of an in depth deep dive into one enthusiast's quest to obtain his vision of the ultimate new edge Mustang, the Saleen 2004 mystic chrome Terminator, what a journey, Perseverance paid off. The Saleen Cobra's of 03 and 04, are top shelf vehicles, that have a cult following with prices going up and up, if you can even find one. I agree with you, that Saleen should have saved and given back all the OEM stuff removed from the Cobra's back to the new owners, colour shifting paint is just about impossible to "touch-up" and having those extra OEM bumpers would have been nice. I wonder if his new Cobra, will be a trailer queen, stored in a climate controlled garage, or just a weekend driver?
Hey Mike, this Saleen Cobra won’t be a trailer queen but it won’t be driven a ton either. I’ll just be driving it to local car meets/cruises in the spring/summer/fall and then every winter it’ll hibernate. 🟦🟪
Nice ride ❤
Thanks!
What about newedge Roush
I did a video about the roush terminators a little while back
@@justin.c_svt I feel like Roush are more rare than Saleen, I never see a newedge Roush, ever
And as far as terminators I kinda feel they should be left the way they are because they’re already special, kinda hard to improve on that lol
@Json.- I agree
I wonder who owns the rainbow saleens
I know the guy who owns the spoiler delete mystichrome. I have pics of it on my phone.
That’s awesome
There is a saleen cobra in Numoa, I haven't been able to see it yet, I think it's black, I talked a little in a post with the owner, I don't remember its name, since I'm not part of them 😅, good video content, greetings.
Yes, the owner is Steve. I’ve talked with him often. It’s a black convertible
I watch theBarrett Jackson auctions a lot an I think if one of those salene mystic crome terminators came up for auction I think no matter who you are an what anybody knows about these terminators theres no way you can guess what one of these only two produced terminators cobras go for ok now that being said I know that you know Justin your smart an have a lot of knowledge about terminators so my point we know that sometimes an auction is not so good to sell these cobras because mabe at an auction for one of these cobras theres not enough people at this auction looking for a cobra an that happens so the car won't bring nearly enough so my other point if a Barrett Jackson auction has one of these mystic crome salene cobras on stage an the right crowd is in the bidding grounds well that cobra I think could go for well over a100 thousand with no problem mabe even 150 thousand dollars now I know some of you might say oh he doesn't even know what he's talking about but you couldn't be any more wrong an like I said if it's the wright crowd in the bidding room that car will will bring in the big money.
Yes, I agree with you. It could be a very good or a very bad outcome. I’ve seen some very nice cars sell for much less than they should due to the right bidder not being there.
Who were you racing on that run? I didn’t see anyone near you? Heard the horn
Would the rainbow cobra Saleen be worth more being there is only one?
More because it’s an odd color. There were only 1 of many of these 03/04 cobra saleens
It would be worth even more if it was still stock the way Saleen left it. However it has been heavily modified from what I have been told, it’s now twin charged (both supercharged and turbocharged).
@@SN95 oh wow that’s sad
@@SN95 The car is in the process of being converted back to stock form.
Hey thanks for featuring my Mustangs and my story Justin!🟦🟪
Sure thing
