I loved this review and actually find it more detailed and informative (and oddly calming) than Tom's often vague and more eccentric style of reviews. Really good job. :)
Another excellent review Bryan, thank you. Would you say that the increased board sizes further increases the incentive to play games with higher player counts and thus reduces the viability of 2 or 3 even player games?
How would you review this experience for 2-players only? Me and my gaming partner love westerns, Great Western Trail is my favorite game probably - would you recommend buying this for 2-player only? (The complete Western Legends experience that is, not just the expansion)
It's a little less of an experience in the 2 player version. That being said Ante Up adds quite a few more NPC's to fight and gamble against so there is that. Now as far as direct player interaction (Robbing/Dueling) that's hindered simply by the size of the map. It's still a great game though, but the 2 player experience is certainly helped by ante up.
I love almost everything with Ante Up. Do not enjoy the new area tho. Even in a four player game the new board is to way off. As a Marshal hunting Outlaws that are in the new area you will atleast have to put down two entire turns just to get close to the Outlaws if you are held up on the main board. Its just not worth it. They could have placed the frontiertokens on the main board and just called it something else. The new area almost killed the Marshal vs bandit aspect of the game.
@@PablowingUrMind have not played it with 6 players and i dont think i ever will. the downtime with five people is significant. But with five players the new area is more at play. Depends on how many players that choose the marshal-track.
Damn... You actually received a copy? The majority of us backers are undelivered and in the dark with what's happening with shipping. Most backers are boycotting Kolossal Games because of it.
Must be nice to actually have received a copy. So many backers still waiting with no response from Kolossal about it. And lots of people who have received it complaining about bad components. Tokens not cut correctly, card colours not matching, etc. Not a good situation all around and Kolossal seems to be ignoring it.
Wow, you are serious! Very serious with the haircut, the shirt, camera angle.....woah! Nelly! Take a breath, settle down a bit......my God, I bet you have a well organized sock drawer!

I couldn't agree more. Unfortunately Tom's reviews aren't particularly informative and often fail to disclose a balance of positives and negatives.

Absolutely I highly recommend a bigger player count because interaction is really great in this game.
Couldn't agree more. Great review, sir!

Do you see this being as much of an issue in a 6 player game?

Has anyone seen Canadian reviews of this yet? Nope..
