@@luigiganggamernumber1tpc It sounds like a v8 because it's a crossplane crankshaft, so it naturally has a deeper more rumbley sound. And most cars can't really sound like this simply because the engines are WAY bigger and have significantly lower rpm limits.
Cross-plane generally refers to the R1's crank in Yamaha's context... And higher in terms of Mustang's Coyote v8 and Shelby 350's flat crank! So yes it's easier to relate and understand when you say it's a 270° parallel cylinder engine

Now, technically the MT07 is a crossplane crank but it’s not unique in this engine layout like it is in the r1 being the only cpc in any inline 4.
