With the pizzas, pop a tiny drop of hot water into the pan with the pizza and put a lid on it. This creates steam which will melt your cheese more thoroughly
I live in Kentucky. In the winter we can get very very cold temperatures. and of course a lot of snow especially around Lexington and upper part of Kentucky where it borders near Indiana and Ohio. I am used to heavy snow falls and a blizzard or 2. The coldest temperature I was ever out in was MINUS -37 Celsius many years ago. That was cold! It was hard to breathe. So I see you out there going through all that, I think I would be afraid to go out that far alone especially. You are very brave, I hope you are always safe. Thank you for showing such lovely nature there where you live. Very beautiful.
I have been in minus 42 C. In Lillestrøm, close to Oslo. About 60 years ago. It used to be much colder in Norway. School was closed. A dry cold in LIllestrøm. Nostrils closed up. It was often minus 20/25.
anti-frost on the windows of the cabin: unroll flower cellophane, in a single sheet from one door to the other over the external rear-view mirrors, so as to cover the area where you look out. If there is a risk of icy wind, cover the windshield completely with two more sheets. If you are afraid of not being able to return to the beaten path, lay out two sheets of paper on the tracks left when you arrive. When you restart, you will lift them outwards, allowing the fresh snow to fall and making much less effort with the shovel. The cellophane sheet for flowers is rigid, so it can be lifted without slipping. It creates a tiny air bubble on the glass which does not cause the glass to freeze, even due to the heat coming from inside. So I managed to get out by following my own compact tracks, while the 4x4s next to me were kicking up a lot of snow dust. I have a simple Ducato Fiat 2x4, a 2003 Ducato. If you don't have anti-cold blankets you can use two blankets on the bonnet that go down over the radiator. When you start the engine, the wool warms up and melts the snow faster. Try it, it's cheap! I forgot, I reuse the cellophane sheets several times. if you want to look outside peacefully at night, use a red light ambient lamp, turn it on a minute before opening the windows and you will see outside perfectly
twice I found myself above -30, incredibly in a valley near Rome, Italy, called Campo Felice, excellent for skiing, where the currents create impressive low pressures; friends from Eastern Europe, to whom I asked for advice on the cold, I left the engine running all night! Because the oil condenses at that temperature, and it is better for the engine to remain running, if there is no way to heat it electrically as happens in your countries.
@@LudoMaxLancthe red light lamp is a trick used by the police here in the US to read or see at night w/o having visual adjustment from dark to light all the time. They have a lamp installed on the headliner. I have one and it's cool, the 1 minute you mentioned is needed exactly for the visual adjustment I mentioned. Ciao e buona fortuna col tuo Fiat Ducato.
I live full-time in my 2018 850 Lance truck camper. The coldest temperature during winter was -25 C or -13 F. I used a dehumidifier and two small ceramic electric heaters along with my propane main furnace. I was nice and toasty.
Really amazed on how you could fit a queen bed, kitchen, fridge, sitting area and most importantly: A FULL SIZE TOILET+SHOWER. Felt like you basically had a moving soho on wheels. Your layout is my inspiration should i get the chance to become a full time van camper.
You should really get in too European camper factory's. They make amazing campers here in europe. Most are based of a fiat ducato chassis. You can get them (like in de vid) as the van itself with a camper inlay. Or just a ducato cab with a full built on a flat chassis. Most are made in Germany and they really know what they are doing😅

Hi from Northern Alberta Canada. Great to see your winters over in Norway and Sweden! We have very much the same temps and snowfalls as you. In winter we often hit -40 C here for a few wks. Here's a tip for you that most of the experienced Northern Canada drivers know. To eliminate the need for windshield wipers when it's snowing, don't turn on the defrost but let your interior windows stay a bit colder and the snow will not stay on your windshield at all and not gum up your wipers. Give it a try! Love your vid's, keep on truckin'

I am only 17 minutes into your video and my heart is singing to the max -- I can hardly wait for winter here in New England, USA! I love your photography and I was laughing when you picked the furthest out electrical hook-up at the campground -- what a view! Thank you!!!

This was very interesting. Enjoyed the whole thing, dude! I didn't think I would enjoy it as much as your hiking in King's Canyon and others in the USA, but this one has been good. Who would have thought that Circle K is also up there in Norway? haha And that postwoman had to show up for work in a 60 mph blizzard. Oh... I don't miss work! Retirement has many benefits. I never had to go to work under those conditions, though HAHA

Thank you for sharing your adventure with us. I go out in my van as a weekend warrior at this point. That is a lot of snow and cold to contend with. I admire and respect your driving ability in such poor conditions. I was raised in a snowy area and to this day, I do not care for driving in it. I do not have a separate heating unit in it as yet. I have not decided whether to install a Webasto or install a mini wood stove. The jury is still out on this one. That said, I will be following you for your tips and tricks!I Enjoy your future adventures!
Wondering if you open to do some lighting upgrade on this Van to let you better driving and camping at night? We're looking forward to do a sponsorship with you!
FANTASTIC Jarl !!! This is an hour and a half of the reasons why you and "Camping With Steve", are my first and foremost SUBSCRIPTIONS!!! I love Steve for his humor while pretending to "bumble" thru' the wild outdoors. But you, Jarl, give us listeners and watchers the REAL true-life adventures of Camping and Van Living. There is no one who relates precisely what the trials of outdoors living is really like. And....as I have previously said, "you ALWAYS give us content that is what your VIDEO TITLE says is going to happen. There are many who say, "Wild Weather !, Blizzard !, High Winds !, Torrential Rains !," and then what happens ? They say, "goodnight, I'll tell you in the morning if anything crazy happens" ! Or they say nothing except "goodnight ", and then in the morning tell you, "you should've seen what happened last night. Well...that's why we tuned in to this person. To see the Wild Weather, Blizzard, High Winds, etc., etc.!! YOU ALWAYS DELIVER THE THE CONTENT THAT YOU QUOTE IN YOUR HEADING. THANKYOU SO MUCH !
I am so glad to hear this Thomas, thank you very much! i check in on other channels from time to time to see if they had their snow storm yet, usually the havent, lol! Thanks again for this!

Might Suggest a Diesel Heater for a secondary heat source it can be hooked up to your van fuel tank. Relatively cheap and simple install. Redundancy is safety.
Hi Jarl I remember watching this ,the snow covered trees are beautiful ,winter wonder land, the scenery is absolutely amazing awesome video stay blessed stay safe
The wife and I and our 8 yo and 4 yo did this a couple years ago in our 30ft motor home. We went through northern Michigan for a couple weeks. It was so great. Very peaceful. Awesome video sir.
That is quite an adventure living out of a van in the winter. I grew up in North Dakota where the weather was very much like what you were experiencing in your van. For me when it’s -20° F I would be indoors except for daytime walks in the snowy cold winter weather.
A small inverter generator would be nice to have as an emergency backup. It could run an electric heater if you run out of Propane, charge up your devices. You could also carry a jump starter in case the van battery died. Some vehicles have engine heaters installed in them which could be ran from an inverter generator too. So many things it could power like an electric cooking ring even so you're not stuck without a means of cooking if you run out of propane
Hei!
I just stumbled across your channel and I’ve got to say incredible scenery. Yes, I subscribed and I’m sure I will love your other videos. I love the snow, but like someone else from Tennessee mentioned it doesn’t snow much here. When I was a child in school it was pretty much a guarantee that we would have 3-5 snow events. 2-3” but also one that would be 6”+. I miss those days. Thank you for sharing your adventures and especially this very snowy one. Travel safe!
Great video. Great Adventure. You seemed to deal with everything that was thrown at you - awesome!! Lots of great advice from previous contributors too. In Scotland, the slightest flake of snow has everyone in a panic!!! The world needs to learn from the Scandinavian countries on how to deal with challenging weather. You did yourself proud. Hello from Scotland.
Do you have a heater for the Engine Block and one for the Coolant? You might want to install a High Beam Light Bar across the top front, this will allow you to see better at night and when the snow is blowing. Amber fog lights as well. Stay safe my friend! You can also get a Heavy Duty Thermal Quilt and place it directly over the Engine.
Really nice van. The snowfall is really beautiful. I love how it clings to the trees. Thanks for letting me join you. I always wanted to travel and see some of the world…. But sometimes things change. It’s so nice you can make your dreams come true….🙋🏻♀️🙏💖
You have a beautiful country with fantastic scenery. Traveling with a camper van is definitely the way to go. Myself, I like camping in bad weather, especially when I have a hot cup of coffee at hand, thanks for video, enjoyed the trip with you.
I love the winter and the snow falling and being all cozy in a nice a. That has everything including a bathroom with a shower. And a washing machine and dryer and I am happy. And most of all a T😅
"I love adventures!" "I'm having fun !" That's typically you, dear Jarl. You're looking for challenge, for all what is exciting.... Heavy snowfall, icy temperatures (on top of the North Pole it couldn't almost be more freezing), the biting blizzard, the totally snow-covered dangerous roads visibility zero !, even the intense cold in the van, the problems of starting the car, all this doesn't lower your optimism and happiness... Amazing poetic pictures of ice- and snowcristals under a virgin deep blue skye. Rosa or golden horizons under a setting or rising sun...And you were lucky to see so closely a herd of moose, your favourite northern animals... You are never run out of recepees for your meals, you eat well ! I'm happy you enjoy so intensily.... Good luck, Jarl ! (and looking forward to watch part 2 !) 🚌 🍳 🍜 💙
Beautiful views. I still think about who rode the bicycle to the gas station in a blizzard. All to experience again this winter coming. Heck of a mountain snow. Go as fast as you want to crash. Put a mylar blanket in front of the inside of the rear doors. Insulate. Does van have an engine block heater>
There are stick on pads which can be controlled and run off the battery. They will stick to the oil pan and also on the transmission to get the oils warmed up. Simple tp put on and wire up. Might want to check them out. Sure that is very common accessory. Take care. @@NorwegianXplorer

I'm looking forward to part two of your adventure. Have you made a video of how you prepared your van for the winter? I think a lot of people would be interested in that. Take care.👋

what a pleasant video to skim through while i ate my dinner. thank you friend, i wish you all the best and safe travels.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Absolutely amazing and terrifying in the same time. Congrats!
Thank you very much!
this is incredible,,thumb up to and keep sharing your adventures with us.,,
Thank you! Will do! Part 2 coming soon, probably on Saturday
So awesome to see the fine particles of snow reveal the swirling wind patterns. Fog has a similar effect lighting up the wind. Just beautiful! 💚❄️❄️❄️❄️🌬🌬🌬🌬💯👌
Thank you!
I am only 17 minutes into your video and my heart is singing to the max -- I can hardly wait for winter here in New England, USA!
I love your photography and I was laughing when you picked the furthest out electrical hook-up at the campground -- what a view! Thank you!!!
Always picking the best view lol!
Wow, incredible video out in the snow ! I'm glad you don't get hurt and lost. I hope someone knows where you are and when to expect you back!!!love your photography, you could be on Netflix or HBO.
Thank you so much🙏
Thanks a lot!
Yeah, the post woman is hardcore lol! Thank you Robert!!
❤💙 Been trying to watch this all day but with the grandbaby ive been getting interrupted like now she was sleeping gotta pause it again 💙💚💕🍁🎃🍂
Lol, keep trying!
That's so beautiful, i could live in the snow 365. Very nice video.😊 have a blessed weekend 🙏🏻🪁
Thank you! You too!
I just stumbled across your channel and I’ve got to say incredible scenery. )))
Thank you very much and welcome!
Here in Tennessee, I can't even fathom that kind of cold, wind and snow. If it snows, it's only a dusting.
In northeast Arkansas, we get snow and ice, we close down!
It is something indeed, love it!
Dude, you look like young
Arnold Schwarzenegger. 👍
Haha! Should I laugh or cry? Maybe I could become governour of California at some point
Wow! Man, what glorious weather. MINUS 29 DEGREES CELSIUS??!in the month of October? Unbelievable, man🫢😳.Here in Switzerland, it's raining lightly in some places.Meteriology says that the sun will continue. And you, with "Christmas snow"?! What white envy,😅.Enjoy the atmosphere. Have a nice weekend🤗👍👏👏👏🤜🤛😊
Thank you so much!
It's so nice to see happy man, doing what he always dream about! Goid luck!
Thanks so much!
Thank you, I have seen both Webastos and wood stoves work well, My van has a Truma heating system, and it works like a charm.
Wondering if you open to do some lighting upgrade on this Van to let you better driving and camping at night? We're looking forward to do a sponsorship with you!
I got your email, gonna take a look at it and get back to you!
No problem! Looking forward to hearing from you!@@NorwegianXplorer
Spectacular views! Really enjoy your channel.
Thank you very much!
I would have stayed by the Circle K until it was way over lol
It is never over:-)

@@NorwegianXplorer I am new to the channel and this is my first episode and I truly love it. Norway is my dream place to live, one day I will be there! If they allow my cat. xoxox
Lol, the cat should be ok, come on over!
checkout vancity vanlife too
@@NorwegianXplorer just came onto your channel. just like canadian winter lol. vancity vanlife is a good channel also.
You are amazing. Love the video, Sweden and Norway are amazing. Watching from OHIO USA. Thanks!
Wow, thank you! Greetings!
Might Suggest a Diesel Heater for a secondary heat source it can be hooked up to your van fuel tank. Relatively cheap and simple install. Redundancy is safety.
You’ve gotta step out of you comfort zone to experience life at its best ! You’ve found it and now I’m looking at doing the same thing ! Cheers !!
Go for it!
Hi Jarl I remember watching this ,the snow covered trees are beautiful ,winter wonder land, the scenery is absolutely amazing awesome video stay blessed stay safe
Glad you enjoyed it Sonia!
The wife and I and our 8 yo and 4 yo did this a couple years ago in our 30ft motor home. We went through northern Michigan for a couple weeks. It was so great. Very peaceful.
Awesome video sir.
That is awesome! Thank you!
That is quite an adventure living out of a van in the winter. I grew up in North Dakota where the weather was very much like what you were experiencing in your van.
For me when it’s -20° F I would be indoors except for daytime walks in the snowy cold winter weather.
Yeah, I have heard ND can be quite harsh, lot of cold winds, right?
Yes. Oftentimes in winter the air temperature can be -15ºF with 20 to 40 mph winds. There were blizzards with 70 mph winds at times.@@NorwegianXplorer
I watched Fargo, great movie, and series, isnt that from ND?
The movie Fargo mostly took place in Bimidji, Minnesota. But Fargo is an iconic example of a really cold place.
@@NorwegianXplorer
Nothing about this makes me want a sliding side door.
Such a comfort to have the Van in this cold stark environment. What an adventure and experience!
Thank you so much, it works so great for my lifestyle!
Awesome scenery great job. You certainly have all the comforts of home!
Thank you very much!
Hei!
Tusen takk for hyggelig kommentar!
I love these video 😍Stunning 😮
Thank you Marluce! Cheers!
Welcome aboard Wally!
Permission to come aboard sir? Haha
Lol, granted!!
Great video my friend. Just incredible
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks so much Gavin, we have a lot of this weather so it becomes a way of life, it is also very beauitful!
Love this so much in the evenings before bed! Thank you!
You're so welcome!
Thank you! No heaters for the engine, but all Nordic editions have special fluids that do not freeze
Watching this from tropical india is a magic🎉😊. Thanks for this.
My pleasure 😊
So many of your still shots look like picturesque post cards. Such stunning landscapes! 🏞❄️❄️❄️❄️💯👌
Thank you, I enjoy showing you the beauty of winter!
Thank you for your nice video.

Everything looks so beautiful in the winter 🧡
It really is!
Really nice van. The snowfall is really beautiful. I love how it clings to the trees. Thanks for letting me join you. I always wanted to travel and see some of the world…. But sometimes things change. It’s so nice you can make your dreams come true….🙋🏻♀️🙏💖
Thank you too!
Keep your engine running every hour on the hour for 15 minutes to make sure your oil and other parts don't freeze
Thank you for sharing your video of the beautiful winter snow.
Thanks for visiting
You have a beautiful country with fantastic scenery. Traveling with a camper van is definitely the way to go. Myself, I like camping in bad weather, especially when I have a hot cup of coffee at hand, thanks for video, enjoyed the trip with you.
Thanks Terry!
Thank you Regine!
Thank you Sam, I have several blankets for the rear door, one with mylar and then the woolen one on the inside. No block heater
There are stick on pads which can be controlled and run off the battery. They will stick to the oil pan and also on the transmission to get the oils warmed up. Simple tp put on and wire up. Might want to check them out. Sure that is very common accessory. Take care.

Absolutely Breathtakingly Beautiful 🥰❄️☃️🌨️ Takes a certain type of person, I would rather be in the snow any day then the sun 🌞 Take Care Thanks for sharing 👍🙏✌️
Thank you so much!
A brilliant video Jarl, you definitely captured the beauty of the snow and the excitement of the risk of being stuck with your van in the winter wilderness. I'm looking forward to part two of your adventure. Have you made a video of how you prepared your van for the winter? I think a lot of people would be interested in that. Take care.👋
Thank you, I have a small video about that on my other channel that I put out yesterday
Thanks, I'll have a look. Is your other channel linked in the description?
Yes!
How beautiful is this!!! Amazing scenery. Wow
