i actually have one, he really hates me and turns out he makes all the boys in the class to hate me too. then i choose different highschool simply because i don’t want to see him again and moving to other city’s university. things be better now and i think my life is more peaceful these days. sometimes what happens in anime doesn’t do well irl huh

I have the same case. We've been in the same class for 10 years and same school for 14 years, our parents are friends too. We both hate each other and are rivals in school, people call us each other's genderbent counterparts. As much of a fairytale this sounds like, just know we were friends before and now we avoid each other unless we're competing. I hate him.
In my personal experience, Mine is neutral. Unlike the other replies here with negative experience (I hope y'all okay now, that sucks) I was close with my childhood friend everyday as a kid she would immediately be in a happy mood even if she was in a bad mood initially whenever she sees me. She clings on my arm and always plays games with me. Fast forward to Highschool (we got Seperated for years) we were able to talk and stuff but we aren't as close anymore. She became fiesty and spicy af but she's still the same kind girl before. I noticed whenever she talks to other guys she has this foul mouth (not in a serious way it's just her manner of speaking) but whenever she talks to me, She kinda reverts to her old self... Talks sweet and etc. I guess even after all these years she still has a soft spot for me. Fast forward in the future we disconnected because no communication already. But we ended in good terms Funny Fact: One of my last memory of her is seeing her change and about to remove her bra because window curtain open, I almost froze and stare but I immediately look away when I regained my sanity lmao So yeah fiction or not, It's not a cheat code. It still depends on the person
It's a great feeling reading/watching something like this after some heavier stuff. xD "Yancha Gal no Anjou-san" and "Fuufu Ijou, Koibito Miman" are a couple of really nice manga for when you want a warm feeling (although both are on-going as of now).
