@@KeithHill-wc3ew Keith they definitely do. Keeping them tight on feed and constantly pushing them around doesn’t. They just love to be left alone to do their own thing. Cows amaze us every day. The behaviour is fascinating. 😄
Evening Richard Your 1 handed skills with the JCB are much appreciated as you bring us great videos I sympathise with the beep beep, I know how embarrassing it is, on the occasions I have to use my mobility scooter, health and safety dictate I have to have a reversing beeper, feel like Eddie Stobart driver's lol only definitely not on the same scale It's not Terry's it's Richard's lol You must be extremely happy, judging by your cows WOW, thank you for the shout out, very humbling, cheers Richard Careful with that bowser, people will think Simon's in training 🤔 😂 In the words of Joe, farmers helping farmer's, what a fantastic touch promoting Charlotte's food bank Christmas campaign Oh talking of Joe, have you been flying over his farm today, spying on him lol He mentioned as much on it video tonight lol The stock auctions always seem to have a great restaurant incorporated, can't beet a good breakfast They're worse than my old dog, clean bowl of water or a dirty puddle, puddle alway won lol Great mix of tasks again tonight Take care Simon and yourself Back UK farmer's 🇬🇧 Geoff
Great video again, a diet feeder would cost to start with but the amount of feed saved and the possible increase in milk through them having a correct balance maintenance diet would help pay for the feeder. Also would save silage and goes further. Can’t you buy a longer neck for slurry tank to spray it further. Isn’t the maize used by shoots to feed there birds and for them to shelter in ?
Feeder wagon Will it improve the mixing of feed which could improve output but at what cost , Wagon / tractor to pulling it depreciation/ maintenance costs
@@bobcrawford2105 That has always been our concern about the running costs. They would, wit the correct diet definitely improve out put. We think we would need +3 lts/cow to just cover the cost before it starts to pay for its self. Cows would definitely benefit from a well balanced diet. It’s down to number crunching
@ yes that is also true. It’s, are we a large enough farm to justify a diet feeder. I personally would love to try one over the winter to get a better feel for it. Maybe I can find a cheap second hand one somewhere. But maybe buy someone’s problems

Simon. Yes we will give the cow a fighting chance. We will monitor her. Hopefully she will get stronger again.
