    How would you insert the new bearings without the press?

    Hi what brand name bearings and race did you install, I am having a hard time finding quality bearings because it seems the market when it comes to this kind of part is almost completely monopolized. Thanks for your your great video and input

      i have used low cost ones AND if you install them correctly they last ok. preventing the metal cower to rust is extremely important. use liberal amount of grease.

    Your video gave me some insight. I took what I thought were the bolts holding the caliper on and it started leaking brake fluid. Then I watched your video and realized I was loosening the wrong bolts. Guess now I have to bleed the brakes. Or did I blow a seal apart and need to replace it?

      i dont know what bolt you undone. there is some bolt holding the two caliper half's together as well. if so some new O rings might be needed.

    are you sure you need to grease the spindle where the seal goes? which way does it go lip facing out or in?

    • @grapsorz

      the lip faces out. if you dont grease it i have gotten rust on the mating surface and it have tared up the seal and water have enterd the bearing and ruins it. you can se that in the video. around 2:20. the seal without lubrication did not last 6 month and the bearing was ruing within 8 month as it salty water got in.

    Hello excellent video! What year Volvo is this? And would this be pretty similar to a Volvo 244 dl 1981??

      +Michael S it's a 93. still it is 99% the same until 74. you might have a different nut/washer for the hub. look up the torque spec for your type of nut.

    Is it the same process as the rear wheel bearing?

    • @grapsorz
      @grapsorz  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. the 240 rear wheel bearing is crimped on the shaft (with a ring). totally different system.
      here "Erik" is doing one that use the same system.

      Nickey Fynn now i can do it under 20-30 minute's if everything comes of easy. the first time you might need 2-4 times that. having all tools redy helps a lot to.
