Thanks for sharing your amp settings Lemuel. As always I’m blown away by your improv skills. You lock in instantly and everything you play is incredibly melodic with all the technique to get the most out of the notes. It’s inspiring to watch you play. Cheers to you mate. Have a great weekend ✌️
Heck yes it can. There's a magic in Les Paul juniors and Esquire guitars. I think it makes us really play more deliberately and attentively. Also the P90 is classic!
I found a Les Paul Jr. Maestro by Gibson , reamed the holes put some Hip Shot locking tuners in , new Bourns pots , installed a ToneRider Rebel 90 humbucker sized P90 , Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky’s played on a Fender Pro Jr. IV ! Both guitar and amp ONLY HAVE 1 Tone and 1 Volume knob. Pure Magic . It forces you to play , instead of sitting there tweaking treble, mid, bass .
Nice guitar!I've got over a dozen guitars, and my Epi LP Jr is one of my favorites! I paid $100 Canadian and it even has a kill button! It's a keeper! Thanks for sharing!
Finally a demo of this guitar with room sound not mic'd threw a DAW and a player who isn't a wannabe shred metalist ., My hat's off to you Sir, your playing here sold me on one of these. Many thanks 👍
Hey Lem how are you brother I’ve been busy haven’t had a chance to catch up with some of your videos but once again, thank you for that one. Good work once again again, brother keep it going.
I wish I could have heard your solo a bit better against the backing track. Sounded absolutely killer! Sweet licks, man! Definitely had some Freddie King vibes.
Hey Lem...i recommend getting an EQ pedal for that guitar....you can dial in a clean and gain tone and just step on the box...hands free. I use one with my Epiphone Casino with the two P90s and it gets me any tone I want on the floor....I'd almost like to have two of them on my board...right now I've got it in the effects loop of my Hot Rod Deluxe amp...I like the simplicity of that guitar. I saw Leslie West play one live in the late 60s when I was in high school and always associated it with the sound of rock and roll.
I have a regular Epiphone LP JR (not inspired) it has a humbucker and I absolutely love it for pure in your face rock it's my favorite, and the least expensive guitar I have! I play it every day just around the house! I'm a Beatles fan and as such of course I had to buy a Casino, and I absolutely love her also, I have a Fender Tele, a Epiphone SG, a 1960s Teisco and a few other electrics, most at least double the price I got my Jr for a few years ago. I cannot put it down! Jack ~'()'~ Canada
As ever Samuel, some great soulful playing - effortless! Monty's instrument food is excellent for conditioning the fretboard, Montypresso is the stuff to darken it. Can be bought direct from their website. How does the Epi compare to the Harley Benton? I've got 2 Epi LP's, 60's standard and 59 outfit, both excellent guitars, but lately Epiphone have priced themselves out of the market. HB are knocking it out of the park. Definitely feeling an Epi vs. HB P90 shootout coming on!!!! One observation, the dialogue is always really quiet compared to your playing, might need to get an external mike to sort that out- Keep up the good work, really enjoy watching your content.
Thanks for the info regarding Montypresso, Yes I agree with you regarding the Epiphone guitars are good quality and well made. How does the epi compare with the harley, well as you said a shootout has to be done lol, you have made the decision for me regarding my next video. cheers Paul.
I just modded my epi sg special. Took out the bridge humbucker and screwed in an epi p90. During soldering I accidently disconnected the remaining stock neck humbucker. It sounds nothing like what I expected. Probably will just reconnect the neck humbucker wiring as I originally planned on having the p90/humbucker tone options on one guitar that's lighter than an LP but not flimsy Fender like🤣🎸
@@lem432 nice! have you ever met charlie? they did quite a few gigs together... i think his nickname was wolfman? charlie passed back in 16 and davo is still gutted over it...i would be as well... davo got one of charlies guitars...its a wild 2000 squier tele...
Try the gretsch g2215-p90. Humbucker in the bridge, p90 in the neck, build quality miles above the budget price. You'll change your mind about the only guitar you need. Very versatile.
I know Gibsons have been around forever and certainly from say the 60's to the 90's , they were producing some really solid instruments , compared to everyone else. However , in the last 5 years , with companies like Harley Benton , Firefly ( Guitar Garden ) , Leo Jaymz , as well as Fesley and a host of other brands , Gibson , in my opinion , has just slipped , a lot. The only value they have in anything is the resale value at this point , for anything under say 2005. I mean if you are getting a Firefly from Guitar Garden , paying 240 bucks for Locking tuners , abalone inlays , stainless steel frets with ball ends , zero nut , and a decent quality veneer finish with some good color variation and some damn decent alnico pickups. Thats a damn hard thing to beat. Once in a blue moon , you get a grounding issue , or something small with the electronics , that's easily fixable after a few videos on you tube. I just find it VERY difficult to buy one Gibson for the price of 10 or 15 or 20 Fireflys.

Beautiful guitar beautiful sound, that’s the sound I look for. I’ve got a LTD TEL200 that only paid 399$ new and I’d put it up against this for that classic blues break up sound.

Hi there, I checked out those guitars, which look like a great deal. 👍 thanks.
Did you happen to find the name of the fretboard darkening agent you mentioned?

To darken and nourish the fretboard, just rub vaseline into it next time you change strings. That really works a treat!
