Deepower Universal Fit Lighted Nocks (Budget Priced)--TEST

  • These nocks are designed and patented in the US by Deepower...just to clarify that.
I've tested some budget minded broadheads from Deepower and thought I'd test this new and improved Universal Fit Lighted Nock a well. Competitors cost 250% more than these. But just how good are they?

Hey Sir, your broadhead tests are essentially the industry standard - this equipment review was spot-on as well. Maybe, it's because you seem so trustworthy. You are like the Consumer Reports of Archery. I may buy some of these nocks for my brother - he digs lighted nocks. Thank you for the good content

Great video, I've been watching all your videos for about 6 months now and you do a great job. I'm going to get some of these for me and my buddy, he doesn't use lighted nock and I'm tired of trying to find his arrows and when ever he shoots a deer i ask him where he hit the deer and he never knows. I've told him for years that I'm going to buy him some lighted nocks and never do it, well now I am. THANKS for all the good work and I look forward to what you do in the future.

I tried the Victory Archer Spot Nock (which is a similar design) at first and I could get them to turn on, and when I finally did, they wouldn't go off, finally just coughed up and bought Nockturnal, and they have been amazing - 2 deer and zero issues, but might have to give these a try.

John, for the brightness test the deepower nock’s collar acts as a shade on the bottom of the nock while the nocturnal is translucent plastic. The light scatter at the top of each looks almost identical. It’d be interesting to see the brightness test performed with both nocks inserted in a shaft. I bet they’d be almost identical as it seems in your video the scatter at the top is the same. Great testing. I watch all of them. Thank you!

John, as always a great video. I actually purchased a set of these after seeing your broad head review as they came up in the amazon search. I figured I would try them for the price. They are the universal fit model and I must say I was fairly impressed--I did have one that acted a little finicky. I shot them multiple times every day for months leading up to season. As luck would have it, I shot a buck at last light with one and one that had always worked failed. I could not get it to activate when I found the arrow either. I was hunting in like 40 degree weather too so not extreme by any means. Just another data point. I still make pick some up before next season. The price charged by other major manufacturers is ridiculous.

There was a high failure rate with the Victory Spot nocks. Kinda like a 1st generation product that has demand but didn't meet the standards of reliability. I didn't find this to be the case with the green or strobe Deepower nocks I bought. However I'm shooting micro Victory VAP TKO's & the Deepower is just a little too bulky to go onto that shaft. I've heard problems with the Deepower having nock pinch. I tested mine with a Prime Centergy backup bow. I tied nocking points with serving on the string b4 I put the green BCY #23 D-loop which is more forgiving & stronger. It also doesn't give me any knock pinch. On that Centergy my draw length is just a little short so my D-loop is longer than say a D-loop that your bow shop would just tie on your string. That way I hit the anchor point on my jaw with my thumb release that I need. My nocking points r also farther apart due to the length of the D-loop but the bow shoots great with repeatability with these Deepower nocks or a standard Bohning nock.

Good question. The longevity of the solid lighted model was tremendous--one lasted 3 weeks staying lit. Some of the nocks turned on too easily when I nocked them to the string...so I just used them for target shooting...which is fine. I had one of them stop working after several shots. Honestly, about the same overall as most other lighted nocks I've tested. I'd say the quality/durability is slightly less than a Nockturnal, overall--but much less expensive at the same time.
