I actually was in a really toxic relationship where my ex was abusive. To speak out and say that anyone can go through abuse is extremely challenging. To see people side with amber turd saying that “only women can be abused” is the type of psychologically messed up mental crap that is turning people against the real meaning of feminism and equality…it also makes it hard for men to feel comfortable being able to be themselves in a society where we feel like our feelings and our lives don’t actually matter…
I have watched my brother go through a physically and emotionally abusive relationship for over 10 years. They are still married and when ever we talk about it he always says 'she needs support and I can help her'. Drives me crazy and has caused a lot of resentment between us.

I was a victim of domestic abuse, both physical and mental for 11 years, it was a win for men and women, but rightfully for men as ppl do presume men as the aggressors in any domestic relationships, i was stabbed and battered, police were called by me (a man) and i was arrested and taken to the cells overnight... Very few ppl believe a 6ft guy gets beat by a 5"6 woman , but it happens, it needs to be known.

I have been to dozens of comment sections with wildly different audiences and without fail, the vast, vast majority are in support of Depp. Left, Right, Men, Women, all in agreement that Heard lied. It is the most unity I have seen about anything in the past few years. Yet the media has the completely opposite opinion. It is amazing how out of touch and in denial they are.
That to me is very telling. If anyone out there still doesn't believe that the media has an agenda after this then they're beyond help. It's the media that's dividing people, and we're fortunate that this is one of those rare open and shut cases that everyone no matter where they are on the political aisle can unanimously agree on. The media is just doing their own thing, and they're frustrated that their usual lemmings aren't eating up their bs. If they can lie this hard about something so obvious, what other things have they lied about that the masses have believed? I think we already know the answer to that question.

I expect that at all points in this trial. Johnnys team would’ve tried to settle this. I guarantee all he wanted was an admission of guilt with a public apology. Yet Turd would’ve declined this.
Any assessment needs to be about the specifics of the case. The people decrying the outcome seemed to regard Depp (and his family, including his daughter) as needing to be sacrificed for precedent. And on top of that, now THEY'RE THE ONES TELLING WOMEN NO ONE WILL BELIEVE THEM! Look, it's a difficult area. It puts 2 people in a scenario where absent visits to the hospital and clear injuries, it's going to distil to one person's word against another (and that applies similarly with same-sex couples). The presumption of innocence means that we occasionally release the guilty rather than occasionally exacting punishment on the innocent (which is overtly cruel). And if we use cancelling and take someone's word, then we have a shonky standard and create incentives if you have the power to get people to support you. If I recall, the presumption of innocence was originally developed because powerful people could pay to accuse their enemies of crimes. It was a protection against power, rather than something to enshrine it. The power here was initially that Depp was cancelled without having the claims against him subject to any standard of proof.
I'm a man and I went through domestic violence same as Johnny Depp. The fact that some people believe Amber Heard and say that this victory sets a bad precedent is an insult to me. Men are victims too. Do we not get to celebrate our justice?

There are liars, abusers, and those who take advantage in every group, be it gender/sex, race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, or socio-economic class.

As with so many cases when a woman accuses a man, people were automatically ready to believe the worst about him. Nevermind the fact that there are numerous cases of men being abused by women, calling the cops instead of fighting back, and the *man* is the one who gets arrested instead of the woman. Kind of sounds like women ultimately have an advantage in cases like this one, and that's as far away from "oppressed" as you can get.

Domestic abuse is not something that only one gender faces and this trial proves it. I sincerely hope that more men will find the same courage as Johnny Depp and be able to come forward about any abuse they have suffered. We should be encouraging any and all survivors of abuse to come forward with the knowledge that they will be supported by the public no matter their race, sexuality, or gender.
As a man who has supported domestic violence services, practically and financially for 50 years Amber comes across as a very typical abuser, in denial, blaming the victim, full of justification and never admitting any responsibility. And of course, blaming everyone else for her guilt and still demanding our sympathy. . Amber could be the poster girl for domestic abusers everywhere.

I'm actually willing to agree that this trial will have a negative impact for women in abusive situation, but not because Jhonny won, rather because of Amber heard causing this in the first place. She takes voices away from real victims, men and women, by lying to the world and taking advantage of it.
My dad was abused by his wife till the point he planned his suicide. I remember when he sold his house and they were both fighting to see who would get the money and he said that men hardly ever win anything which involves a women and even all his friends couldn't believe he was the one being abused and all her friends now hate him because "who would believe a women would abuse a man"
It's crazy to think she's trying to use freedom of speech to justify her actions. That in itself makes me believe she lied. Honestly I was hoping that the Courts here in the UK would overturn their verdict in light of her obvious perjury in the UK trial. Disappointing if it doesn’t happen. I've been following this trial for a long time. It's interesting to me because this trial symbolizes more than just Johnny's innocence. This trial also represents all men who have been unfairly put in the wrong by women of the same kind as Amber. In addition, (and I think this is the most important) is the idea that men are always the perpetrators of violence or the abusers simply because they are men, is with this case being debunked. This case shows that it can also be the other way around.
If we want real equality between men and women, we can't help but consider cases like this as an example that abuse in relationships can fall on both sides.
I was married for 7 years. I am a male that was married to a female. We ended up getting a divorce that I filed for. The reason I filed for divorce was she cheated on me constantly and was extremely abusive both physically and mentally. She wasn't bigger than me I was actually larger than her but I never believed in putting my hands on a woman. She would use any object she could against me. Seeing a man finally get recognized and coming out victorious for being the one abused is a relief. It's very infuriating that they're trying to twist it and make it something it's not.

I've had multiple exs do this to me. One press charges that the D.A. took knowing that there isn't 12 jurors in America, that won't believe a man didn't hit a woman. Unless I had video evidence showing different. And I've have 4 false r.o. That I beat in court... It's sickening that someone days earlier loves you then betrays you to the world

This was a defamation trial, NOT a criminal trial. Totally different scenario than a victim of domestic abuse pressing criminal charges. How many abusive husbands out there are filing defamation suits against their former spouses. The claim this verdict is a set back for women is laughable at best.

When you're in an environment that leans very left and doesn't give all the correct information, you're inclined to think a certain way. Once you get curious and start researching other topics, it broadens your ideas and shows you that there are multiple versions of the truth, and lots of interesting viewpoints. Not once did I say that I couldn't think for myself nor that I needed help in thinking more freely. I never once mentioned thinking freely, actually. I encourage you to broaden your horizons, as well.
