    This video contains gameplay from Xenoblade Chronicles 3 on the Nintendo Switch in HD. Today I offer you my first impressions and reaction to the ending of Future Redeemed to find out if it is actually good or bad. This is not a review but a highlight of my first time playing with live commentary. Future Redeemed is the DLC story for Xenoblade 3. Xenoblade 3 stars Noah, Mio, Sena, Taion, Lanz and Eunie from the nations of Keves and Agnus. But this DLC stars Shulk, Rex, Glimmer, Nikol, Matthew and A on their quest to stop Alpha and Na el from destroying the world. So far this game is absolutely beautiful from the music to the stunning world of Aionios and I'm absolutely loving it. However, the ending had some of the most emotional, mind blowing, and epic scenes I've ever witnessed in a videogame. From climbing Prison Island, learning about the Lucky Seven, Fighting N, seeing Earth inside Origin, the radio, the Alpha final boss battle, seeing the original ouroboros, it's all here! Hope you enjoy watching the best moments from my first time playing!

      "Those two" or "them" of course refer to Logos and Pneuma. That's why N's sword is always shown which shows the purple Logos glow (I didn't recognize it first, as well).

      Fun fact, the final boss theme was composed by Manami Kiyota, she composed Zanza the Divine from the first game. She has only composed three battle themes, but two out of those three have been final boss themes

    I want to point out that "Alvis" is actually A, not Alpha. So when A said the same thing Alvis did at the end of the first game, it's not just a reference. It's literally Alvis saying the same thing he said back then, but as a new form in A.

    1. Shulk does remark on the prisoner of prison island, those "..." are him exhaling.
    2. Valak mountain isn't really high at all. The lowest point is barely above guar plain. Its cold there because the sword is sucking out the ether, therefore no blood circulation to heat up the arm.
    3. I'm pretty sure the only pre-rendered cutscenes are X's intro, definitive edition's intro (titan clash), and the original ending (because too many characters on screen for the wii). The post credits scene here may be as well, but probably not.

    I just want to say this. Much like how he regained his powers in XBC2, Pyra/Mythra would've had all the data of Malos' crystal. Malos' crystal is inside of N's sheathe much like how Pyra/Mythra's was in Matthews' gauntlets and eventually Noah's sheathe/gauntlet. Food for thought.

    They really wrapped everything up very nicely. I’m glad they dove so deep into the trinity processor stuff here, helps explain a lot from the main story. I’ve got a few vids on the lore of 3 if you’ve still got any questions on the story

    • @doodoooodood696

      Did it really? I felt like this entire ending was pointless and made the entirety of future redeemed pointless. And felt it didn’t answer any actually important questions

    • @DumbXeno
      @DumbXeno 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @@doodoooodood696 3 in general did not reveal its lore explicitly, even in Future Redeemed. Future Redeemed gave us the pieces needed in order to put everything together, but it was still left to the players to figure it out, so I totally understand if you think things didn't have an answer. I definitely wouldn't say the ending is pointless, the point of Future Redeemed was to conclude the Klaus saga, with Alpha, a remnant of Klaus/Zanza's will being destroyed at the end, and the worlds coming together in harmony, finally fixing Klaus' mistake. I've got my explanations for everything on my channel if you're interested.

    • @doodoooodood696
      @doodoooodood696 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@DumbXeno imo, the parts of the lore that really needed explaining was not stuff that had to do with the city, but the stuff that had to do with moebius (Z in particular), the queens and the start of the cycle; none of which were elaborated upon
      And I can’t say I feel it was needed or even conclusive at the end. 1 and 2’s endings already fixed Klaus’s mistake. And seeing as we already know that the worlds just go back to exactly how they were in the exact moment before aionios was formed, it essentially means all of xenoblade 3 retcons itself out of existence regardless. Rex and Shulk’s sacrifice means nothing because we already know it’s undone; not to mention we’re not given a proper reason for why it was even necessary. To me it just a feels like a cheap moment to make everyone sad. Sure they give their lives to glimmer and nikol but like that doesn’t really matter either considering we never see them use that life, they then die off screen between FR and the base game, and then come back good as new once the worlds go back to how they were
      And as such, future redeemed ends up feeling to me like the most useless addition to the entirety of the xeno franchise. This ending has made me a very, very bitter person I’m sorry to be aggressive lol

    • @DumbXeno
      @DumbXeno 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@doodoooodood696 The origins of the moebius, the queens, and early Aionios not having much exposition is a fair criticism, there are some clues I use to piece together what happened, but it is still pretty open-ended. I would have liked to see a lot more about Origin's construction, the Queens assuming their roles, and early Aionios. The game gave us a taste with Segiri's ascension quest which showed us there was people living freely in early Aionios, but we don't get anything explaining how Aionios went from that to everlasting war.
      At the ends of 1 and 2, the worlds began on their collision course since the Conduit was no longer there to keep them separate. You could say that this is unnecessary or just an excuse to have a 3rd game, and I'd say fair enough, even if I am okay with it myself. Though with the addition of that plot point, Klaus' mistake was still unresolved at the ends of 1 and 2.
      As for Shulk, Rex, and A's sacrifices, I'd still say it's pretty significant. They're some of the only people that know the truth of the world aside from the Queens and Riku, and they're more than capable as soldiers in the fight against Moebius. They all stayed as avatars from the end of Future Redeemed to the end of the main story, which is at least 1000 years, considering M having founded offseeing with Crys 1000 years before the events of the main story, and us knowing M came into existence within the year before the events of Future Redeemed. I think their imprisonment is a worthwhile sacrifice, even if they are to be reborn in the recombined world.
      Also, I don't think the worlds just go back to how they were originally, despite what is shown in the main game's ending. I think the main game's ending is more symbolic than literal, showing how the worlds first separate, then recombine with each other, which is represented by Noah and Mio's flutes playing together. I think this is backed up by what Future Redeemed shows, as the worlds first separate, then recombine into one. So the state of the worlds after the end of 3 would be the people of Bionis and the people of Alrest living together on the same planet. The people of the city's lives are up in the air, assumedly some like old Ghondor are reborn as Noah and Mio find each other, and others are not reborn as the circumstances are just different than those of Aionios. The resolution of the story is basically that there is no more existential threat facing Earth, and people from both Worlds can now live in actual harmony, instead of the farce which was Aionios.
      Also no need to apologize lol, there are some other franchises I follow where the fanbase universally praises the ending while I am left bitter and unsatisfied, so I get how you feel. I get that a lot of people really dislike when deaths are not permanent, and 3's story really turns the dial up on that all the way, so it's natural that isn't going to sit right with some. I do my best in my videos to give some structure to those early events you mentioned, and I use the evidence the story gives us as far as I can go with it, so maybe that could help give you some closure lol.

      @@DumbXeno Honestly I don’t mind a little bit of open endedness. My issue with it is more that it’s just a little bit TOO vague for my personal tastes. Like there’s a whole big period of time between the start of aionios and FR that just isn’t covered and that’s the area I think would answer literally every question I have lol
      Personally I do find it just as an excuse to have a third game, yeah. Which I would’ve been ok with if anything relating to aionios actually affected xenoblade as a whole but it kinda doesn’t
      And I really just can’t see their sacrifice as significant when there’s no real reason for it. We don’t really know why they need to be “avatars”, what being avatars is, how it affects anything, and then of course in the end, it doesn’t effect anything at all since the worlds go back to normal
      I definitely can’t agree that the worlds merged though. I think the visual of them merging at the end of FR had to be the symbolic thing because it doesn’t make much sense otherwise. When Nia explained what origin is and what it does, she specifically said it would reboot the worlds to their previous states. The whole point of origin is to make it as if the worlds never crashed together at all, not to merge them. The fact that it merged them into aionios at all was a mistake, and that mistake is further emphasized by the fact that the world is ripping itself apart with the annihilation events because the matter of the two worlds is incompatible. So like they CANT merge. So we’re left with the two worlds as is. And there’s not much satisfying, at least to me, from there being “no more threat”, since the threat was very arbitrarily introduced in 3 thanks to the worlds colliding already being a new thing, but also Z not being a character that really makes sense (my personal headcanon is that he’s a glitched out failsafe that was in origin, but that’s just so he makes sense to me, not something I think is actually canon)
      And yeah the general lack of consequences in 3 was certainly something that bothered me. Sometimes I didn’t mind it like with nimue but then sometimes it annoyed me like with Ethel (and obviously with Rex and shulk lol). And I’ll give your videos a watch, but believe you me, I’ve done my own research lol. I really wanted to be wrong about all this stuff but I really just can’t enjoy FR or even the base game’s ending. It all just ends up feeling empty to me. And I think part of it is also that I value the actual literal storytelling far more than the symbolism and metaphors. Which, those things are great of course. But I’m much more focused on the literal narrative. And said literal narrative did not prove to be satisfying to me, especially as a CONCLUSION to this story
      I do like 3 and FR, despite my multitude of problems with it (which is you wanted to further discuss, maybe we could talk on discord or something), but I just can’t feel like they needed to be part of this story. I think I probably would’ve liked it a lot more if it were disconnected from xenoblade, honestly. And I don’t really think there’s going to be anything that can change my feelings on it, as much as I’d like to have my thoughts changed. I’m honestly rather jealous how people can get so much more out of these games’s narratives and endings than me

    The broadcast IS primarily about making X canon, as well as dropping references to Xenosaga (And a small, non-specific one for Xenogears).
    Sienna Morgan drops terms like Coalition Government, July 2054, Earthlife Colonization Project and Project Exodus, all of these are terms related to Xenoblade X and are interwoven with details from Klaus' backstory in 2 (Apparently, the arks were launching directly from the Radamanthus, during the battle with the Saviorite rebel group, implying this happened at the same time as the Ganglion invasion).
    There's a lot of legal troubles relating to Xenogears' copyrights so it's unlikely Monolith will ever get to directly link Xenoblade to Xenogears, but there is a small nod thrown in, Sienna mentions the all-new Philadelphia class ark ships, this is the same designation of both the White Whale in X and the Eldridge in Xenogears.
    Finally, there's some small nods to Xenosaga, like the logo of Vector Industries on the radio as well as Dimitri Yuriev's namedrop.
    However, there are large inconsistencies between Xenosaga and Xenoblade, for example the fact that aliens do not exist un the world of Xenosaga and space is confirmed to be entirely empty beyond humans and gnosis, which makes it incompatible with Xenoblade where Ganglion exist as well as a large number of alien species like the Ma-non and the Orphe, so most likely these references point to a new adaptation of Xenosaga more in line with Xenoblade, rather than Monolith merely linking the two franchises.

      The nopon in Mira passes on the events of the first Xenoblade game as legends of the past, so this version of Project Exodus is different from the one in Klaus' World.
      Future Connected also has some nods to X, hinting that X is part of the future. People joke about Xenoblade X being Xenoblade 10 for a reason.
