How to repair corrupted GoPro video file. Very easy!

- After watching numerous TH-cam videos that did not solve my problem, here is what I did to solve my issue of a corrupted GoPro video file that would not play. 1. Upload the video to your computer. 2. Reinsert the SD card into your GoPro. 3. Record a short video (over ten seconds) 4. Insert the SD card back into your computer. 5. Delete the MP4 file only from the SD card leaving the remaining two files. 6. Drag the corrupt file into the folder on the SD card that contains the remaining two files. 7. Rename the corrupted file to match the other two files. 8. Re-insert the SD card into the GoPro and turn it on. The GoPro should automatically repair the file.
Cool. This worked for me. I have a GoPro Hero 7 Black. Followed your directions but when I inserted the card after renaming, there was no indication on my GoPro that the file was being repaired. I then paired my GoPro with my phone and accessed the media files but this file did not display at all. I inserted the card back into my computer and played the file using VLC media player, and it definitely worked! Seemed like it needed a "jumpstart" or prompting...Appreciate the tip!

This doeas not work with my Gopro 8, it does not recognize that the file repair must be done. The file is still corrupted. In the Quick App I can play the preview video from I recorded for the recovery only. When I try to download the video it still says it is corrupted.

@@bryceblack12261 Unfortunately not. For me the file size was only 27kb or something like that. I think that the video is not only corrupt, but could not be recorded immediately after starting.
I went for my first scuba dive with gopro hero8 black and recorded a lot of videos but unfortunately none of them play. For eg. there's a 9 min video, it opens and plays for 1 sec and freezes at that moment for the whole 9 min. This happening with all my videos, can someone help me on how to repair it? This method didn't work
