A fair and accurate comparison video. Because of your review I purchased an A14-5G. I will agree with most everything you stated. If you don't have both phones side-by-side, you are hard pressed to see a difference. Cameras are surprisingly good. This replaced an S series Samsung that was 4 years old and dying. Since I refuse to spend a grand on a phone I listened to you and bought this. No regrets. Thanks. Liked & subscribed.
Thanks for the honest review. I just ordered this for my 15 year old daughter who isn't a phone snob. She only does email, TH-cam/Netflix and social media crap. Her old Moto G Power lasted her 3 years and she was still happy with it till it finally got smashed. I think she'll be happy with this. I was a Moto fan for low end phones. But now Moto only has 720p displays on their low end phones, so I ran to Samdung. Moto only offering 1 major Android update was also a factor. Samdung gives 2 major Android version updates, and 4 years of security updates. Bye Bye Moto.
I bought the A14 4g 128gb unlocked for 250$ the thing is I did not get a sim card for it yet and I'm using my wifi to play games. It lags more than what I thought it would but I guess that's because I'm using my wifi and have several devices connected to it. Hopefully when I have it up and running doesn't lag anymore. But for the price I think it's great.
I just watched your review of the Samsung Galaxy A14 5G and you convinced me to take a serious look at it. I'm also looking at the Samsung Galaxy A54 5G. In the USA I think the A14 5G comes with the Mediatek processor and the A54 5g comes with the Exynos 1380 processor. Everyone seems to be selling the A14 5G for $199.99. With my current carrier I can get the A54 5G for $299.99. This sounds like a great deal except that the A54 5G has a "virtual proximity sensor" whereas the A14 5G has the standard "proximity sensor". Please give my your input......
Honestly I get so annoyed with virtual proximity sensors. But I tried it and it worked well. For what it's worth..I was ready to rant and complain but in the end I had to just accept that it was fine even if it was annoying. I'd probably get the A54
@@AndroidDigest So the A14 5G is currently $199.99 and for another $100 I can get the A54 5G. Do you think this is a good deal even with the virtual proximity sensor?
I have the Exynos 1330 8GB variant and this thing is too fast for my usage. Just too fast, kinda overkill. Definitely it is better than Exynos 1280, but not sure how it compares with Dimensity 700. Also PLS LCD is recommended over AMOLED, because from my personal experience with S6 and S9, which gave red eyes and eye irritation in the morning if I played games or watched movies for a long time in the night, whereas this PLS LCD didn't cause any problem at all. Also it gives natural colors. But still, better move games to PC if possible.
Exynos 1330 on A14 5g beats A53 5g Exynos 1280 ! And Dimensity 700 is much much slower! So this time around Samsung nailed it with a great CPU. In Europe we got A14 5g with 6/128 gb, Exynos 1330, 50 MP Main Camera lens with OIS !!! 😃👍
@@petrisalonen4893 Yeah. 😀 Nice that you guys got Exynos one. They should have made this phone only with Exynos. Dimensity 700 is a decent one but they should sell them with consistent configuration all across. Loving this device anyway. AnTuTu single hits 800+ consistently in single core. It is surely a total value for money. I will take those Big bezels, fragile power and volume buttons as a trade for such good performance and display. 😁
Well I got the 14 5G with the dimensity 700 4G of RAM and 64G of storage and it performed a score in Geek Bench 6 with a single score of 692 and a multi-score of 1831 its descend I can play some games on high settings 😁 with no lag and I get no freeze lag at all
Just ordered the A14 from Tracfone Summer clearance for $119.00. According to Wirecutter, Samsung promises several more updates in the future, with an astonishing four years’ worth of update support (through early 2027)
@@frankm4277 Thanks. I've bought her 3-4 sets of earbuds already. She keeps losing them. I'll see if she has any left, and if she needs more. Cheap Mpow and Tozo for the win with her :)
Thank you for the review. It helped me in deciding which phone to buy. I think I'll be happy with the A14 after using my Express Prime 3 for almost 5 years.
Well said! I'm a cheapskate too when it comes to phones. And with the money spared from the Galaxy Z Fold 5, I can finally buy a lens for my Canon (100-400 IS II)
My girlfriend’s 2 daughters are 6 and 8. They have tablets to watch TH-cam and play games but want a phone for Christmas (no cellular service). I was going to ask if you thought the a53 was a lot better than the 14 with only a 50 dollar difference it I literally just heard you say the A53 doesn’t have headphone jack and that’s a deal breaker. They need to have headphones so I don’t have to listen to them lol. Do you think the 14 is good enough for the kids. The A14 I can get from tracfone for 99.00 but just won’t activate service
It definitely is good enough for them! I'm just wondering why they would want a phone with no cellular service. It's basically just a tablet at that point with a smaller screen. But whatever. It would work great for them
@@AndroidDigest as a side note: BB has the WiFi 10.9 inch iPad/64gb on sale 399. They are accepting trade ins. 64 gb is a little light. I think they did that to upsell ppl to 128gb. Also 1st gen pencil compatible only..
@@AndroidDigest sir I'm quite baffled coz you American reviewers find the A14 5G good enough for the price. I see one reviewer in Asia, and that reviewer TRASHES the A14 5G, saying the Chinese brand phones offer better hardware for price value without regard for the software update duration of Samsung.
@@AndroidDigest the Indian reviewers have basically a 50-50 appreciation for the A14 5G despite them having the Exynos 1330 SoC despite their variant being much better than the Mediatek variant that is globally available
Part of the reason why that is, is because we don't have access to a lot of the Chinese competitors that are out there overseas. I know sometimes there are Chinese phones with high-end Snapdragon processors that they sell for like $200 or $300, we don't have phones like that in the US. Samsung and Motorola are two of the only people who sell budget phones. Google has the Google pixel 6a, outside of that and some Samsung phones. There aren't a lot of good deals. I guess TCL makes a few phones but we don't have a lot of options. So the A14, even with the worst processor compared to the international model will still seem very good to us
Yes, that is an option, but to be honest, I don't think it does much of anything. Virtual ram is so far worse then regular ram. In my opinion it's a gimmick that's not worth it
I may do that. I've got a few different videos on the docket already though. I will tell you that the results would be pretty similar to this. The a23 and the A53 aren't too different. I will say the a23 doesn't have a proximity sensor, it's a virtual one, so in that sense there are some negatives to it compared to the A14. But it's going to have a little bit of a better screen. A little bit of a better refresh rate. And slightly better performance. But again, it may be a little more inconsistent than a snapdragon processor. Just a few quick things to mention. Maybe I'll get around to a full comparison one of these days

Headphone jack takes the cake.
Yes I like that too. I like the SD card option as well.

Great choice in your situation. The Moto G Power 2023 just came out. But it's only one OS update. For $200 the A14 is a pretty good bargain
I got the a14 b cause it was cheap and has dual sim. I have both metro and Verizon sims in it and no issues so far
Great to hear
Got one from metro by tmobile as well and no issues at all either
It'll be interesting to see how to A53 compares to the A34 when that releases in the next few weeks.
I will definitely be interested
i got the the A34 for a week now and think its the best choice of the 3 new phones
Had the A51 and A52 both 5g on cricket. Tbh, I preferred these phones to Samsung galaxy S21 5g fe. Verizon 5g isn’t worth the upcharge.
