Thank you for this video. I have been telling myself this is what I need to do in the new year. Right off the bat stop buying on impulse at the market. Most times I'll buy something that looks good and only have a small portion then the rest goes to waste. The other is going to the Dollar Tree to buy a certain thing and coming out with things I don't need 😂. I look forward to your videos in the new year. Happy New Year to you and your family 🎉
Same, all of it, I laughed out loud because it was like you were speaking from my brain! I’m starting with the decor storage bins to make room for the stuff we decorated with this year (and last year that couldn’t fit). Very embarrassing to close spare bedroom doors to hide the crap. We can do it!
Yes I have been cutti g back on groceries and seasonal things. But I need to get my husband on board. So I can also focus on vacations and home maintenance.
First-time watcher here but I feel seen 😅 I have done low-spend January for the last few yrs. For 2025, I want it to be for the whole year. I absolutely co-sign the spices, the hair products and stationery. I rarely buy clothes so that's no biggie. My home is so FULL that attempts at decluttering are very overwhelming. Best of luck to all of us.
I shut down Amazon Prime, keeping only TH-cam for streaming. All subscriptions turned off. I'm excited for a no spend year. My longest consumer fast was four months; with no one in my household but me, I feel super comfortable with this year's challenge.
I did a no-spend November and it was amazing. Spent only $40 on groceries. Had so much fun getting creative in the kitchen and cooking with hubby. He makes the best sauces with all the different ones ive accumulated in the fridge 🙄
I have gone through this EXACT process about 14 years ago when my DD was new. I got rid of 80-85% of our things. Our pantry is minimal as our fridge and freezer. And I can tell it is life changing. Not only do you gain a cleaner more organized home, you gain so much time. And the bonus is the bank account grows and it grows pretty darn fast. Go through this process, stick to your plan and watch your life change!
I already started planning no spend january and low spend year. Set my budget and saving goals. No clothes, use up food before buying more groceries (except perishables veggies etc) cleaning products toiletries, etc Absolutely no spend January! We got this! 🎉
I like to do project “Use It Ups”. Body lotions, candles, books, nail polish are things I hoard. I start using and tracking the levels as time passes. I feel accomplished when I use one up! Good luck with your goals!
We are doing a play on 75 hard: fast one thing (mine is social media), follow a diet (we are trying animal based), read one chapter of the Bible a day, workout once a day, talk a quiet walk with God everyday, and adding in no spending for the 75 days at least. I hope we just make it our norm though. We are aiming to only spend on food/necessities (like hygiene stuff). We have 4 kids so it will be interesting, but I think they all have enough shoes and clothes to make it without needing anything!
Well, please don't put off decluttering any longer. Don't be like me, I am almost 70 years old and have 30 years of decluttering to do. I have to get this done because I will be moving soon. Please don't wait until you have to do it, you'll be sorry. This is a good idea for challenges and the room by room idea finish one room at a time, completely. Love you and your channel, Nichole, hope you and the family have a happy and a healthy New Year! ❤🎉🎇
Girl, I feel this so much. Food, cleaning products, household items, make-up, and selfcare products get me. I especially don't know why I buy the make-up or selfcare products, because I hardly ever use them :/ Excited about the decluttering videos!
Cleaning products are on my no-buy list too! You can go BROKE buying all the cleaners! My problem is they smell so good lol it sucks me in! But this year I’m cleaning everything with soap and vinegar!
Memories over things is one of my bug reasons for doing a no buy year this year too! If we can successfully no-spend on non-essentials the entire year we can become credit card debt free and have all that money to TRAVEL. I’m so excited for it! Good luck on your journey!
Long time subscriber since your dollar tree haul days lol ! Girl I am so excited to go on this no spend and declutter journey with you !!! I need this motivation ✨🖤🫶🏼
My daughter’s wedding was in May. We spent so much money. After, I felt like I needed more control over spending and correct the path or compensate. I didn’t call it “no buy” but I did the same thing you’re doing. I used up stuff in the pantry and freezer. Purged the closets and all those places we shove stuff we don’t use. Listed it all on marketplace and sold all the crap. We had a makeup bag on the counter we put all the money in and used it to travel going to Nashville, New Orleans, Rhode island, DC, Iowa. (I also had the Southwest companion pass during that time). It was very freeing to rid ourselves of stuff and have experiences with the proceeds. We also refrained from eating out and stopped buying most prepackaged foods. Saved a lot of spending doing that
I did not have Money for traditional Christmas dinner I just used what I had in my freezers in pantry. Still had a lot of food everyone eat almost all the food I made best of all I had no leftovers
Great great great! Try biweekly grocery shopping. U will save $$$. For ex. if you spend 150.00 week every week= 600.00 mp. Instead go every other week and get 250.00 worth and only spend 500.00 mo. !!!
Family of 3 left at home...goal is no more prepackaged snacks, no character socks ( have about 120 pairs), no meat til deep freezer is empty, get groceries down to $250 a month, no new shoes, no new stationary for business til current stock is used up, no new electronics...free services I'm gonna try to use this year ... library programs, free community garden plot, free community concerts during the summer, book exchange group, and etc
Spent last two years decluttering. We are retired and wanted to stay in our house for now but I could not care for all this stuff…. So now attic is emptied and 2 empty closets.I am using up my basement “ pantry” of food and toiletries.. been doing this a year and still have a little left. Went through spices and kept 15. Threw out so many that were expired. What a waste. Watched a chef who uses 12-15 spices. Only buying when I run out of stuff. Thanks for this video.
I am so here for this. I love this time between Christmas and New Year's....did a comprehensive look back at my 2024 spending. Ive developed some habits that have to be reigned in.....we just moved into a new home as well and I am DETERMINED to not let this place get cluttered the way our last home was. These next few days are dedicated ti taking inventory and coming up with my low spend plan. Excited to have resources like this channel to share the challenge!! ❤
I laughed out loud when you talked about your cleaning supplies. My husband dared me to buy one more cleaning item the other day. My list looks very similar to yours. Plan on doing one room at a time. Starting with my Christmas decor when I take it down.
Coffee mugs, planner stickers/more planners/stationery, new hair supplies (use what I got/refill when empty), non-alcoholic beer (I’m 7 months sober but been enjoying the NA stuff, need to quit it too), purses, hoodies, ball caps, blankets…I need to frame my list and hang it in the bathroom 😂
Girl, my impulse spending is out of control and I could really use this. I am so tired of overconsumption and feeling like I always have to have the new "trendy" thing so I will also be working on a list to curb my spending habits in 2025 as well and I appreciate you sharing
Hi Nicole! Love this video. Usually Minimalist Game starts on the 1st of the month. I started my 2 Goals on Dec 21st: 21 mins, minimum, on Treadmill. 21 items Donated, Thrown Away, or Give Away. Today is the 31st: 31 treadmill mins minimum & 31 items will be leaving my home👍 I will cont till Jan 20,(1 month). You've said in the past, Don't Wait, so I listened & it feels awesome, enjoying the Process ❤🎉
It’s insane how much I relate to you😂 I am doing this next year for sure 👌 the food stashes (I buy a new coffee and I drink it once and don’t like it and then end up buying my og and the cycle continues) and the cleaning product obsession is real ! You are so funny 😂😂
Seasonings, lip liner, lip sticks 😢 are on a no buy! Thar hurts my soul but I have to do it. You are right on body care, candles and protein powders! Those just made the list.
This is such a great and healthy idea! We can all benefit from decluttering. I can’t wait to give it a shot. I think limiting my supply will make my meal choices easier with fewer items to sort through. I stopped buying and wearing makeup during the pandemic. I wear tinted sunscreen and tinted lip balm.
I love this video so much! Decluttering and limiting spending is my goal for 2025 too! You’ve inspired me so much in my health journey and I can’t wait to join this new journey with you!
Good luck all. I have to not buy anymore mugs, most clothes. I have to go through wax melts and candles too. I will buy comfortable shoes sneakers and sandals when I need to. No new Christmas decor.
I have had a tough year and have been buying stuff to make me feel better. Whilst this has initially made me feel better, I now have a load of stuff that I don't use and do not have space for. I am trying to save up for stuff that needs to be done to the house, new kitchen, new fence that went down in the storm, health bits I need to pay for, dental work, new glasses just so much!!! In the boxing day sales, I have purchased all my toiletries to keep me going for a while and also some clothes I needed along with some clothes for the gym. Now I have all that I definitely do not need anything else. So my commitment to me for 2025 is to go through items and be honest about what I need and what I don't, some things will be donated and some to be sold if I can reap some cash back. It's not doing me good taking up space jn my house and mind. Health wise, I need to start being more prepared with my meals, so I need to do some batch cooking. Working full time, caring for my family, and also helping to care for my disabled brother takes a lot of time, and if I am not looking after myself, I am not helping anyone. I am looking forward to hearing your updates. ❤
I want to declutter weight this year. 😁 We are pretty frugal but last year I went thrifting too much. I am a reseller and need to list what I bought so no more buying until that happens! Also, declutter the house, garage, etc. We have seven kids so we have a lot of stuff in general. It's going to be a great year! 😍 Great video!
Yes, Yes, Yes 🔥 Already started decluttering and continuing too, shopping my pantry and freezers first to rotate and consume. Seasonings are a weakness, especially going to Ross & TJMaxx🙈 Perfume, lotion, body oils, and body sprays have also been a struggle 🤦🏽♀️ Ultimately use what stock I have and repurchase specificically what's needed, lol. ✨️Refocus on my fitness and go hard to build muscle and drop bf💪
Hey Nicole love this video, I'm here for it, in my garage I have a pantry full of cleaning items, amazon will be only as needed ,and i will meal prep and use what I have,no More candles, bath body work annual sales etc 😮
Love this idea!! Books both paper and audible and supplements are where a lot of my extra money goes. I did a HUGE decluttering a couple years ago. Need to do another one and get back on track with being minimal. Looking forward to these videos!
I’m so happy that you are doing this, all of us can relate I think! I intend to do a low spend year as I would like to put more toward a home remodel without financing. I used to love watching your videos and I love when you got into fitness because I also am a weight training enthusiast, but I had to stop watching you for a bit because your hauls were so excessive if was hard to watch. I will be back to see your declutter and no spend journey! Cheers!
Excellent and exciting video 😁 I feel like you have been following me around from your list ! All things I need to change in my life . Happy 2025 ! I 🎉🎉
I already did make up last year and haven’t bought. Spices here too. Just got kindred chili crunch. Food is definitely my problem. Doing the cupboards and freezer this year too!!!
Yep, I’m doing a no buy in 2025 too! Paying off our credit card debt + leaning into being CONTENT and grateful for what we have and enjoying the ride! I’m doing my no buy as a series oh my channel and SO MANY people are doing a no buy! It’s so great! Good luck on your journey! 🤍
I appreciate this so much!! I would say my list is very similar: 1) shop my freezer and make meal plans based on that 2) no more ADNB - especially since I’m the only one who eats it and it’s going to go bad before I can eat it all 3) No more water flavors til I use them all 4) no more seasonings unless they are low sodium ones that my hubby needs 5) no more protein powders or shakes til I eat what I have 6) haven’t decided on a budget yet but thinking $200-250/week for my family of 5
I have been decluttering for the last 4 months. I’m moving into January as no buy too! No buy, cleaning supplies, lip sticks, laundry detergent and scent boosters, limiting grocery purchases. 😅
Im doing a Low buy for January. So ive tweaked my rules 😂 im only allotting 15.00 a week. If i dont spend the 15.00 then it goes towards next week but im not spending on more food. All i need for 3 adults is fresh bread and veggies...i can do that on 15.00. I volunteer at a pantry and they only order fresh food, milk etc...im working this Low buy 👍😃 Happy 2025 🥳👍🥳
I need to work on a lot of these categories. My sister said my garage food and cleaning stock looks like an aisle at target. 🤦♀️ I am going to work on the grocery budget for sure. The clothing budget will be tricky since I'm in a weightloss phase and nothing fits. But I'm taking a look at what I spend on to cutback and save all over.
Thank you for this video....I've been thinking along the same lines...I'm drowning in STUFF! One 'hack' I use when I can't get motivated...just watch an episode of hoarders...suddenly I feel so ready to clean out that drawer. Lol. You are not alone...I buy soy sauce coz it's on sale only to come home and put it away only to find I already have two. Thank you....I'm looking forward to this❤
Let's see--we just stopped our Audible subscription and will use audiobooks at the library. My husband always has his eye on The Great Courses stuff and that is also available through the library. I've always been tempted to get the Wall Street Journal but I see that is available through the library, too! I definitely still have fluff in my purchases, though. Like I went to return a couple of small things to Hobby Lobby and ended up coming out with 13 yards of $2.00 a yard fabric and I'm not a serious sewer. Eeeeekkkkk!
I started already. My sister might be moving in with me in the spring. I don’t want to live in a crowded house and I’m trying to be more anti-consumerist. My goal is reduce my possessions by about 1/3. I don’t think I have that much so it’ll be a challenge to reduce even more.
My main GOAL is to Not Buy things unless I need it that day or within that week, I tend to buy stuff that I know I may need later on because I use to be POOR AS HELL. But I make a lot more and I’m starting to feel like a HOARDER lol 😅
Hey friends, happy Friday! Are you planning a no or low buy this year? If so, what's your list??👇👇👇

Yes I already put myself on candle restriction last year I said I'm not buying another candle until all of these are gone every one of them

This is such a positive way to start the new year!
Agreed. Too much stuff!
Me too. Mine is groceries, Temu and cleaning products. Im with you, girl!
You've motivated me to make a lengthy list!!
Yes! My words of the year are declutter and organize so I will be doing this as well. And not only will it be my house it will be my life as well.
Seasonings, lip liner, lip sticks 😢 are on a no buy! Thar hurts my soul but I have to do it. You are right on body care, candles and protein powders! Those just made the list.
Yes...I need to do this too. Thank you. I will be following along with you. Great advice.
Decluttering makes my heart and head so happy 🎉 so will you!!! ❤
I would say my list is very similar:
1) shop my freezer and make meal plans based on that
2) no more ADNB - especially since I’m the only one who eats it and it’s going to go bad before I can eat it all
3) No more water flavors til I use them all
4) no more seasonings unless they are low sodium ones that my hubby needs
5) no more protein powders or shakes til I eat what I have
6) haven’t decided on a budget yet but thinking $200-250/week for my family of 5
You're all bubbly, excited...but wait till halloween season😂😂
Y'all know me too well👻👻
I am Buying my Beekman 1802 shampoo, conditioner, lotion and body wash in gallon sizes from Zogics and refilling my bottles. Saving SO much!
I have been decluttering for the last 4 months. I’m moving into January as no buy too! No buy, cleaning supplies, lip sticks, laundry detergent and scent boosters, limiting grocery purchases. 😅
Let's go! We got this!
I’m in!!! My list….
Coffee out
Groceries
Impulse Amazon and Walmart buys
Chapstick, pens, notebooks
Coffee cups, water bottles
Clothing unless necessary
@ninanewswanger754 let's do this😎🔥💰
I’ve been thinking about bc I’ve seen lots of videos circulating, I just need to lock in!! I’m easily influenced so that’s hard 😃
@ninanewswanger754 let's be influenced to deinfluence🤌😏
I am on board with you and everything you said!
This video was *chefs kiss* Let’s do it!!
Let's gooo🔥
Great. Video! I am right there with you!
I’m jumping on board with this.
Looking forward to joining you on this 2025 journey 🎉
It helps having a small flat. I basically don't have the space to buy things i don't need. 😂
I need to limit my thrift shopping but I am starting a new job on the 6 so that will help!
Thank you....I'm looking forward to this❤
I'm looking at the 2025 festive. I got so much food! I think a foodbank donation will be what i want from my friends and family going forward ❤
Ooh, you have inspired me and I cannot wait to get started. Thanks ❤
Let’s go!! ❤️ Happy New Year!! ❤️❤️❤️
Happy new year!!❤
My goal for 2025 is to use it up. I do have extra stuff and do need to use it before things go bad. Thank you for sharing this video.
Same here for me on food and household essentials as well
Let's see--we just stopped our Audible subscription and will use audiobooks at the library. Eeeeekkkkk!
I just met you - but girl we have so much in common. My American Dream Nut Butter obsession was insane in 2024. I’ve fixed it, tho lol.
I'm buying less crap foods( oils, dyes, natural flavor mystery foods) and more healthy clean, non addictive junk foods)❤
I started already. My sister might be moving in with me in the spring. I don’t want to live in a crowded house and I’m trying to be more anti-consumerist. My goal is reduce my possessions by about 1/3. I don’t think I have that much so it’ll be a challenge to reduce even more.
Big Suggestion...Im going to use my Food Gift cards 😂😂😂 Panera, wild wings, starbucks...some never touched some with 23.00 balance....im using them 👍
I have no problem at all purging - I will get rid of anything. My problem is that my husband is a collector. How do I fix that? 🤪🤪🤪
Lead by example ❤
I just moved in April and drastically downsized my spices. They dont last forever! Im embarrassed that some I threw away were 10 years old. 😂
I've been looking forward to this video.
Just found you, great video. Thank you for the inspiration
@pattybuitron3954 glad you're here🥰
My main GOAL is to Not Buy things unless I need it that day or within that week, I tend to buy stuff that I know I may need later on because I use to be POOR AS HELL. But I make a lot more and I’m starting to feel like a HOARDER lol 😅
