I listen to breaking news involving the 2002 Yankees just to hear the dynamic between these two. They would make the last 2 hours of the work day fly by. They also significantly increased listeners for every other time slot on the FAN. So fortunate to have grown up in jersey during that time. And Howard on KROCK in the mornings.
The chemistry these two still have after not working together regularly in years is amazing. WFAN needs to back up the truck, whatever it takes, everyone has a price. Russo's contract with Sirius is up in 2019, I thought I read somewhere. Make it happen!
Mike and the Mad Dog are true icons working together again won't damage their legendary status. I don't even have WFAN programmed in my radio memory anymore.
Mike and The Mad Dog wasn't a great show when they first started. It took them months to get their footing. Remember that. Give CMB a chance for crying out loud.
I’m gonna miss Joe B. He is the man of the people and my personal favorite, but once he retires Evan will take over that dumpster fire of an afternoon show and afternoons will be so much better then.
Chernoff, you should be watching this and noting the chemistry between these two professional guys. Compare this to the absolute horrendous PC dumpster fire of a show that's now on the current afternoon slot.
I couldn't have said it better - The new afternoon drive is among the three most (diverse) individuals and for the reason the WORST chemistry known to MAN
But Bart is the most efficient communicator I've heard on the radio! No matter how many syllables a word may have he compresses it down to one or two for brevity's sake.
I'm a big baseball fan since game 3 of the 1973 WS and I love these 2 guys. I'm a Yankee and Mets fan. Mike and the Mad Dog had Great chemistry and know the game of baseball. A few things I miss in baseball and possibly why attendance has been dropping the last decade. It was very exciting watching a pitcher going for a no-hitter in the late innings. Pitchers don't pitch 9 innings anymore. It was very exciting when a pitcher had 16 strikeouts in the 7th inning going for the record. About 6 innings is the normal today so there is no chance of that happening today. It was great taken out the second baseman on a double play. Can't do that anymore. It was great when the catcher blocks the plate and the running comes barreling in trying to knock the ball out of the catchers glove. Can't do that anymore. It was great when the umpire made a bad call and the manager (Martin or Weaver) put on a show to excite the crown, now they have video replay. It was awesome when they had Twi-night double headers or regular double headers now they call it a day/night double header. It was great when they bunt to move the runners over. They still do but I'm sure from the top of my head it's down 65% in the last 40 years. It was great when there were 55,000 to 65,000 people and center field was 410-440 feet, now all ballparks are 11 to 15% smaller than they were years ago. It was great when you had two teams battling it out for the division and you had the best 4 teams in the playoffs. Although its not a bad idea to have more teams in the playoffs but instead of 3 divisions in each league they should have 2 divisions in each league because one of these years your going to have a 75 win team go to the playoffs. In 1994 they got lucky there was a strike because Texas was in 11th place in the American league but with a 52-62 .456 record they were in 1st place, BTW .456 = a 74-88 record. If they make two division in each league with 2 wild card you would almost guarantee the top 4 teams in each division would get in. Nobody wants a 15 games below .500 in the playoffs. It's just plain dumb.
They need to do this like once a month. It’s easy enough for them not to get sick of each other and it’s just enough for me to get my mike and the mad dog fix.
Thank you a million times for posting. I called a few times, listened to their entire run. Living in Japan, limits access to US networks, so again, thanks!
You're the best! People like myself come to rely on your channel! I have High Heat scheduled on my Fios for series recording and for some reason this episode was not recorded, but I knew you would have it and you did and I thank you!
This was 10000000X more interesting than any current WFAN show lol. Everyone in sports talk radio wants to be Mike and the Mad Dogg whether they want to admit it or not (Looking at you Michael Kay and Boomer and Gio)
These two guys are so much better together than solo. They are a brand that nobody can match when together. Give us a 2 hour show a day on Sirius and watch subscriptions skyrocket. Edit: Just noticed Mike’s famous Diet Coke. Lol.
This is beautiful and if MLB network were wise they would put these two together permanently for it is better than anything that the WFAN radio has on the air right now!
A full time reunion would eventually end up in disaster. A quarterly reunion is another story. The chemistry between these two is unlike any other. They immediately went into talking sports as if they never separated.
That same intro from WFAN sports radio here in New York City, which I haven't hear them recently. These guys didn't liked pranked callers were on the air.
I miss Mike F. I was a big fan, and I loved listening to him, even when he spoke about topics I wasn't a big fan of, like golf. But the big thing to come out of the new afternoon drive show for me is how good Maggie Gray is. She speaks so well! I'm becoming a fan of hers!
The music gets me so hyped. Like a DX reunion when the “break it down” hits
Absolutely!
Yup
You see or hear HHH come out with his music, he stops, goes backstage, music stops
Then "Are you ready?" same with the Mad Dog and Francesa
For 40 minutes, everything felt like all was right in the world!!!!
Geez, this brings tears. These two NEED to get back together.
Rob Pagliuca funny you say that.. I agreed!
They're the best in the business.
Rob Pagliuca I keep playing back little segments,,hoping the video never ends!!
Me too
I listen to breaking news involving the 2002 Yankees just to hear the dynamic between these two. They would make the last 2 hours of the work day fly by. There chemistry will always be there..great stuff..
Where?
The Chemistry between these 2 are phenomenal
Great job for this mini Mike & Mad Dog reunion. As someone who does not have MLB Network currently at home, great to see this. Thanks Sportsradio
That was as awesome as I thought it'd be when I came in to watch this. These two both go to another level when they're together.
zenstain Mike Brian mags out the best in the Dog, this was superb!
even Mike has his diet coke with him what is it
I'm sure Mafred was thrilled Francesa was basically advertising every other sport on the MLB network.
Brian lol that’s the first thing I thought of too. They were probably thinking hey this isn’t mike and dogg on the fan, stick to baseball!!! 😂😂
Deric Anzalone dog
Ahh who cayahs, let Man Fred mumble to himself, heal get ova it.
The chemistry these two still have after not working together regularly in years is amazing. WFAN needs to back up the truck, whatever it takes, everyone has a price. Russo's contract with Sirius is up in 2019, I thought I read somewhere. Make it happen!
Best Radio combination in the history of sports radio. Hope this is a sign of things to come.
The world needs Mike and the Mad Dog!
Better than anything I've seen recently on any sports network! They should do a weekly program...love it !!
Oh man. I listened everyday at 1pm for 20 years. They could sit down today and do a perfect show. The best!
The time apart has made appreciate each other!!!!
I knew we would miss mike here in the afternoons !
ny yanks22 the Fan Sucks during the drive time now ...ughhh !
David Swift what were they thinking ? I listen to mad dog on satellite radio , it’s pretty good compared to the others .
I’m gonna miss Joe B. He is the man of the people and my personal favorite, but once he retires Evan will take over that dumpster fire of an afternoon show and afternoons will be so much better then.
@@DericAnzalone Joe & Evan got the afternoon show now, thank God.
Harry Engel ✌️
Greatest radio duo of all time
Thank You for this. Appreciate it. Big fan of Mike and the Mad Dog.
Warms my heart to see these 2 back at it.
The best on the planet! No one is even close.
Thanks for this. Love Mike's insight.
Mike and mad dog. Greatest sports talk radio show ever.
Chris absolutely murdered the new afternoon “show”.
Nice to see two old friends moving forward and making amends.
Chernoff, you should be watching this and noting the chemistry between these two professional guys. Compare this to the absolute horrendous PC dumpster fire of a show that's now on the current afternoon slot.

Bart is best of 3 by far, but that's not saying much
You nailed !
I can't take one more min of Carlin. He just disagrees with everyone and makes fun of himself for being fat.
It's amazing how different Mike is with Mad Dog than by himself or with anyone else. He's like a completely different person.
@7:50 Mike Francesa says the Yankees are lucky NOT to get Ohtani.
That’s awesome 😂
i miss mike
Nick lashine creepy and lacking are his replacements... actually embarrassing!
Nick lashine I haven't listened to WFAN since Mike left
I'M from massachusetts miss her him is the afternons
Mike's coming back to WFAN. Just sucks he isn't doing a show with Mad Dog .
T Tresser But u can still watch him on MLB network like that you tube video as it example.
Welcome back Zaun

Good points, well thought out diatribe there. Sorry Im 3 years late reading this but I read it
They need to do this like once a month. It’s easy enough for them not to get sick of each other and it’s just enough for me to get my mike and the mad dog fix.
Awesome. I miss Mike 👑
He's backkkkkkkk
Watching this in August and Francesa is pretty much spot on on his ova undas
I agree you perform a valuable service
these guys are LEGENDS of sports talk radio...love it!!
He brought the Diet Coke on 😂
God, i miss these guys!! WFAN, please bring these guys back!!

Thank you a million times for posting. I called a few times, listened to their entire run. Living in Japan, limits access to US networks, so again, thanks!

You got your wish. He's back to WFAN.
This is literally the happiest I've ever seen Mike.
The chemistry is still there, no doubt.
Still sad that these two aren't on the air every day together.
You're the best! People like myself come to rely on your channel! I have High Heat scheduled on my Fios for series recording and for some reason this episode was not recorded, but I knew you would have it and you did and I thank you!
The first time that I see what Mad Dog looks like......man did I have it wrong!
THANK YOU!!!!
Love seeing these guys back together again!
They could not see each other for years and still do a show together like this.
They are so entertaining! Also great insight
I miss Mike. I would like to hear him about he NFL draft in NY with potential trades, and Beckham rumors.
is this a sign that there gonna get back together i smell a full-time reunion
that smell is your socks
u must not be a fan of mike and the mad dog
I wish, but that would be too good to be true
Their
The legendary Mike and the Mad Dog is forever the tradition of the radio 📻 show. I missed them so much. 👍
So much for Stanton's slow start. He hit 2 homeruns and a double.
ha
These two fellas cohosted a radio show out of NYC for years. Sports talk.
Geez , I Sure Miss these Guys Together .. C'est la vie .............
Man on the same day Dawson's Creek 20 year reunion article appears on Entertainment Weekly.......so much nostalgia.
I miss this.. 😢
Who is here March 2022 getting nostalgic after the death of baseball after latest CBA fiasco?
Thanks you the best
that is true, baseball is the only sport where you can get a full picture by just listening it on radio
This was 10000000X more interesting than any current WFAN show lol. Everyone in sports talk radio wants to be Mike and the Mad Dogg whether they want to admit it or not (Looking at you Michael Kay and Boomer and Gio)
LMAO CHRIS AT 40:55 !!! "There'll be an opening at WFAN before ya know it"
These two guys are so much better together than solo. They are a brand that nobody can match when together. Give us a 2 hour show a day on Sirius and watch subscriptions skyrocket. Edit: Just noticed Mike’s famous Diet Coke. Lol.
Man this is good
Wow. I don't have cable and would get it if this was on every day (even for an hour)
AMTube you nailed it, this was real 👍
Same.
I love these guys
This was wonderful.
@FreezingColdTakes needs this clip about Ohtani
really miss these guys
This is beautiful and if MLB network were wise they would put these two together permanently for it is better than anything that the WFAN radio has on the air right now!
It's nice that they enjoy working together again lol
why does everyone think cc can't do it again. A pitcher of his ilk has earned the benefit of the doubt. At least to me
Kevin Garbaccio couse he's older..
Awesome!
Chris Zuccaro finally intelligent insight and not the usual lapdog crap MLB network forces on us. Millar and Burns give us a break !
This is awesome!
Fantastic, they need to get together again.
And there it is
Andrew Bailey the best
So good sounds happy
Epic intro that makes me so happy
Baaaaaahhhhh even Mike and Chris bash FAN about the afternoon show at the end....Chernoff must be lighting his hair on fire.
Yes baseball is made for the radio..and us Giants fans have are blessed to have ..Jon Miller..Dave Fleming..Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper everyday
Mike and Chris trashing on WFAN around 41:00. Very funny stuff.
A full time reunion would eventually end up in disaster. A quarterly reunion is another story. The chemistry between these two is unlike any other. They immediately went into talking sports as if they never separated.
Gotta give them credit, they can make 30 minutes go quickly
“Yankees are lucky they didn’t get Ohtani” LOL
That same intro from WFAN sports radio here in New York City, which I haven't hear them recently. These guys didn't liked pranked callers were on the air.
All that time wasted talking about Ohtani potentially being a bust. The guy is tearing it up.
Ohtani bust lmao
Great to see the boys doing over unders again lol🤣🤣🤣
The best in the business 🎙
Francesca : what have you been doing . Sounded so much like Jerry Lewis asking Dean Martin after 20 years , so how ya been ?
Over/unders starts at 12:00
This is great
I miss Mike F. I was a big fan, and I loved listening to him, even when he spoke about topics I wasn't a big fan of, like golf. But the big thing to come out of the new afternoon drive show for me is how good Maggie Gray is. She speaks so well! I'm becoming a fan of hers!
big ups maggie gray
Love, love, LOVE!
ok we're back...
Mike Camerino 718-937-Sixty Six, Sixty Six
Love this!
